i've owned 2 YJ's and still own a cj2a and a TJ, the YJ is better than the older CJ's cause it has wider leaf sprigs stock not to mention the 2.5 4cyl. has as much power as the old 4.2l pice of crap, rough riding though, my tj would own my yj any day way better articulation from the coils

yjs are not teh worst jeep.. if the cjs never broke there would be no yj.. altho the yjs came out in the late 80s your better off getting 93+ yj with the 4.0 efi if your going 6cyl that is.. dont know much about the 4banger except that you can wheel them pretty hard too

yjs are a awesome jeep! are friends one has been ratt bagged offroad by numerous people every day with 33s and a 4banger, still runs, the 4.0 will live longer then you if you dont put huge tires on it. dont bash well made vehicles.

hope you have a 4 liter cuz your gonna have trouble gettin em movin up a hill if you dont. the ones on this one are probably 35's or 36's youll need a suspension lift to fit them for sure. so plan on droppin a few grand in it.

I just got a 2000 jeep wrangler sport and it appears that the hard top may leak. Any suggestions on how to seal it? I wouldn't mind getting painted with a sealant because the hard top is also faded. Thanx. (of course its the 4.0 6 cyl.) ;)

I have an 88 YJ Wrangler (3" lift, 35" mud tires, L6, 4.2L & hard top) and keep asking questions in Jeep circles, the older guys tell me they all leak a little. Even if you buy a brand new one, take it out in the woods and beat on it for a bit and it'll leak too. Attempt to fix it, by all means, just don't get too upset if you can't. 6inch lift w/35 or 36in tires but your gonna need a slip yoke eliminator which can me quit expensive. or 4inch w/33 or 35in tires with no slip yoke eliminator. with any lift you can also put a body lift on it to fit bigger tires. dont go bigger than a 2in body lift. anything bigger looks like shit.
