Declaring atheism as a solution to the evils that religion (spec. Catholicism) perpetuate isn't an answer at all. Denouncing religion is an attainable goal. Denying a belief in a 'god' doesn't mean anything, except having limited imagination. God isn't any religion, how could it? God isn't a tangible thing like 'man'. Man fucks shit up, man dominates and asserts his will, fucks for control, and creates illusions to protect themselves from rebellion. They devise 'gods' to maintain control of us.

@phil8888 funny i was just reading about how the bishop of bath, england, destroyed and burned the huge library at glastonbury during the middle ages (too pagan).... and what about all those books (not to mention people) burned by the church's inquisitions and what about the imprisonment and repression of galileo? please don't say the church is promoting science or learning, just makes you look uneducated. the church promotes and maintains the flow of money into its treasury... nothing else

Georges Lemaitre, the highly respected pontifical academy of science is run by the Vatican, etc. in the case of Galileo, his theories were contrary to scientific thought at the time, plus were flawed/unproven
