Kid, did you see the video of "Oh Well" 69 BBC Sessions? I thinks I asked once before, but if you'll notice, he turned the neck pickup around so the screw poles were further away from the neck. If you look closely you can see he set it very low in the cavity and ran the screws out. I once had an '80 Burst that someone had swapped in T-Tops (with covers removed AAARRRGG!) and I did the same (without knowing) to make the tone sharper. LP Neck pos HBs are SUPER hard to get to sound un-muddy, IMO
/watch?v=KE4HGlmtOcg have you saw this? I used to do this to a Paul I had. Turn the neck pup around so the screws are closer to the bridge. That is another twist on the PG Tone! I never knew this. That is THE BEST LP TONE. You got it nailed, too.
Hey Kid, cool Video ! Mabye you remamber playing with me and Junior Watson in Germany Münster at the Bunte Vogel Session with Erkan and Memo Gonzalez. I was very impressed of your guitar playing and specially loved your crazy vibrato.... Would you tell me what kind of strings you play? Size,Brand....? Thank you and greetings from germany
Lovely Tone Kid, what kind of speaker do you have in that deluxe reverb JBL? Anyway it sounds fantastic I just starting getting into those early fleetwood mac recordings Greeny's tone, touch, and voice is truly haunting, he is the only musician that truly leaves me speechless.
Definitely getting just about everything ThroBak makes because of your videos. I'm a giant tone hound, and I almost bought some of those Colorsound reissues, but now I'm thinking the Throbak are the much better choice.
Throbak made them reversed on purpose so you wouldnt have to change the pickup cover... And by the way you reverse the magnet in regular humbuckers and the pickup cover is just there for aesthetics to show its reversed...
Flipping the magnet is enough, you don't need to wire anything out of phase. Once you've flipped the pickup, it will sound out-of-phase in middle position. Ah, reversing the pickup backwards is just an aesthetical matter :)
Awesome, thanks for demoing that!! I've got the Vintage ICON V100 Peter Green (lemon drop) model that comes wired that way and although it doesn't cost much it plays incredibly well.
Shucks, I was hopein' 4 sum tooth pickin' too..:(... and maybe sum Cranberry sharkskin singlebreasted regalia..lol. Do you ever slow it down? You remind me of one of my alltime fave LP pickers to see in person..Johnny Kat. What tone that guy HAS and an all around humble, great guy too. I know you gotta know him cause you cover some of Terry's stuff. Well done, informative vid. Does it have an audio glich somehow?

Love the vibrato! Reminds of the guitar work on the Aphrodite's Child album, "666." Nice and tight.

Kid, you are the best thing to happen to guitar playing in a long time, great to see you here.

When you using PG pickups the neck pickup should be installed in the opposite direction..
If you look at any of the old footage you can see that it was reversed.
Great demo

flip the magnet, put the pickup in backwards, then wire it out of phase. simple!

Yup, Green's guitar was NOT "wired" out of phase....only the magnets were installed out of magnetic phase (ie..north-to-south).
Huge misconception that still exists around...
