  • i7 2.8, is that more powerful than amd x4 3.0?

  • What FPS are you getting and which map?

  • what graphic card do I need to play this game

  • what temp does the asetek keep your cpu at???

  • @alienthurandthur The temp averages at about 30 degrees celcius and the system is super quiet :) with the aseteck LCLC and two 200 mm fans.

  • no the best army

  • how much was ur rig?

  • @wasssabio this rig cost me $1400

  • @seered27 with the 40"TV or without

  • @elazzja $1400 without the TV

  • @ozzyguy67 noticed no one replied so, meh the graphics card is not very good and im not familiar with that processor, but if it is qaud core it should be good, you may want 750 watt and the moterboard is also weak. what are planning on doing with this?

  • I run this game with an intel core2duo 3.0Ghz, 4gb 1066ddr2 and an 8800gt on highest graphics settings, i see people talking about my game laggs, i get stutters etc etc, here is my advice, learn to set your pc up properly.

  • In my rig it runs about 35 to 45 FPS.

thought as I like to play this on eyefinity I want to know if the Q8400 is going to be a big bottleneck for this card. It play well in all max out yet for playing eyefinity

    Q8400

    DD3 4GB 1333 (I think I may need more since this game uses 3)

    Gigabyte 5870 850/1200

    HX750PSU

If it is a big bottleneck then I want to keep my LAG 775 MB for at least another year so if it is what would be a better CPU.

  • @Alucardthedeadone I really don't know dude. I wish i could point you in the right direction. I think the i7 is a pretty versatile processor and for eyefinity im not sure. I have never used eyefinity because i only have 1 40" HDTV as a monitor. Can anyone else help Alucardthedeadone?

  • @seered27 thanks for the reply, if it is only a small bottle neck that can be help with overclocking then I be happy with that.

  • @Alucardthedeadone q9550 is brilliant processor, performs when slightly overclocked as good as an i7 920, theres not much difference between them, q9550 i'd say is the best out of the LGA 775 quad cores, gunna keep mine for another year maybe 2.

  • @wardy92 thanks for that, thought I have made my mind to get the 1090T CPU with a Gigabyte 890fx ud5 MB, really I was thinking about just changing CPUs at 1st but it end up easier and better to change the whole set and also with a 1090t and GB UD5 MB I should for some time. Also price is good for me.

  • @Alucardthedeadone

I don't know if you got your answer or not, but the CPU may be a bit of a bottleneck for eyefinity. Don't worry so much about your RAM as the GPU RAM is the real thing to look out for for EyeFinity.

  • @scottycatman Yes I think ur right about the ram but I know windows 7 eats a lot so I would look at 6 gigs.

  • @Alucardthedeadone

Windows 7 takes a very small amount of RAM to run... similar to the amount XP needed. Vista is the one that you have to worry about.

  • @scottycatman well it is taking 1.33GBs now I do like to play games and have content runing the back ground too.

  • @Alucardthedeadone

Well make sure you don't have like 20 applications open on the tool-bar on the botom right... that slows you down considerably.

  • @scottycatman well I do have a few but not like 20 but still ram is good for everday use too.

  • Hey mate:) i promised i would let you know how Naploeon total war runs on my rig when i got it . And yea I run my 5850 at 775/1050 i think and its just great;D very smoothly and i love it, here is the settings i run it at: Bah have to do anather post;p

  • @ozzyguy67 No I didn't have any problems with windows 7 but there is one graphical glitch that I found on my system. In naval battles I noticed that my ships are missing the sails even when they are fully deployed to max sails...it doesn't bother me too much though.

  • @ozzyguy67

I don't have any special HDD. Just a WD 500G 7200rpm...meh. I would like to get a Velociraptor or even a SSD but i don't have the monitary resources at this time :( Maybe this summer or even next year....Hell i am happy with what i got now but Bigger and Faster is always better right? Oh and I haven't even had my pc 1 month and i already filled up the HDD.....geez. at least i have 4 terabytes of WD externals to hookup :P

  • @ozzyguy67

No worries mate. I am just glad to hear that you found what you were looking for, because when i was looking to get my pc in february there was NO ONE on the internet who had an HD 5850 and had videos to show. I was originally going to get the Nvidia gtx 260 but was strongly urged by a couple of dudes on the forum to ditch the 260 and get the 5850. So i took their advice and must say that i am really glad they pushed me to get the 5850. It plays everything including Crysis Maxed

  • @ozzyguy67

Thanks, Im glad to hear that you are getting a new gaming rig ozzy. With those components you picked so far you should be able to get great performance at a decent price. Just a couple suggestions for a new IBP customer...get a name brand powersupply and if you choose to get the freebie liquid cooling, maybe call in to the sales phone number and request that your rig get the free Asetek LCLC 120mm instead of the free IBP generic LC, the IBP LC's are cheap from what I've read.

  • @jagageralla

Yes you will be able to run this game exactly like me. I suggest that you do a simple 10 second overclock on the hd 5850 but it's not neccessary. Just go into the Catalyst Control Center (CCC) and go down to Catalyst Overdrive I think. Then put the gpu clock up to 775 MHz up from 725 and your card will be the same exact as mine :) Let me know how it plays when you get your rig.

  • @seered27 Nice:) thanks for answer, will do the overclock thingy and let you know how it runs:D. Cheers.

  • @seered27 Just some advice from someone who has read most of the recent posts in the forums. Also, that 955 Black Edition will be perfect to overclock one day and the Saphire HD 5850 is a beast from what ive seen. Let me know what you decide on getting ok.

  • Oh and its 4gb ran .. .:P

  • This is insane.

    Holy shit.

Just bought the Gamer Mage 550 from ibuypower. Hope my system runs the game as good as yours does.

  • Here are the specs.

  • SSAO on/of ? Anti-Aliasing 2x/4x/8x ? AF ?

  • Yes you are right I was the one that was practically bullied into a corner by those guys. But hey that's all I needed was a little kick in the ass to wake me up. I am so happy I got the hd 5850, it's a beast

  • Nice!.. I have an ibuypower coming with a similar setup.. You're from the ibuypower forums i remember your name.. I think you.. MAY... have been the one those guys forced the 5850 down your throat :p.

  • This game looks real fluid son, cant wait to see some epic battles posted soon

  • WOW! Nice FPS! Im waiting on my IBP rig should be here Monday!!! I hope my fps is as good as yours.See you on the battlefield!
