  • Very King :D:D:D

  • what is this song name ?

  • Let's also not forget that when Mas Oyama created Kyokushin, it was first called 'street fighting' and not Karate. The Karate federation only accepted Kyokushin after quite some time.

Oh.. I forgot to mention that I met Azuma Takashi in January (hell of a Karaoke singer btw.) and he doesn't consider Kudo the be part of Karate.

  • But Azuma realized that one needs to develop all aspects of fighting in order to call himself a fighter. In our Dojo we train 3 days a week. 1 day Kyokushin/toughening, 1 day Judo/intense stretching and 1 day for basic techniques and fighting. Our Judo day for example looks exactly like any normal Judo training session, the Kyokushin day is basically a traditional Kyokushin session. All in all, it depends on your sensei and what he thinks is most effective.

  • that was good and interesting to read thanks.

  • Well.. I'd personally say its not a form of Karate. Since many Muay thai, Judo and Jiu Jutsu dojos "evolved" into Kudo. I dont think they would base their techniques on Kyokushin. You also notice a great variety in fighter's styles in many Kudo fights. Kudo's founder, Azuma Takashi, did train Kyokushin before inventing Kudo, that's why the training looks very similar to Kyokushin.

  • All the moves (esspecially grappling) are all from Karate or Jujutsu, Kudo is Karate. Karate means empty Kara Hand te, or in english it means unarmed, so why this isent Karate??? Its just the old style samurai used to kick your ass if they drop there sword or something... =P

  • Kudo = Karate + Judo

  • Karate also have grappling, im not talking about western game version... Im talking about the method used 1000 years ago the Okinawa people used to beat the crap out of people if they needed to (Mostly agenst us Japanese) Japanese also used Karate but it was most Jujutsu because with armor most Karate dosent help lol

  • what the hell are you talking about...

  • but kudo doesn't use that "old school" grappling, we use kudo and the karate that kudo comes from isn't one of the old styles it's kyokushin, and it has lots of influences from boxing aswell.

  • @richa217 YOu fail, check wikipedia to say what kudo is.

  • @richa217 you are wrong..Kudo is mixed martail arts...ther is kickbox, box, karate, judo, jiu jicu, thai box...and it is all put in together in one of moust realistic martal art...

  • its still based on karate thus a karate system just a moden and dare i say it good karate system

  • it could still be a form of karate due to the gi, rank, bowing, techniques being practice from a sanchin stance, etc. so many styles of karate (and other arts), cross train. any karateka who doesn't isn't up with the times. we all train in boxing, thai boxing, bjj, judo, wrestling, etc.

  • does any one nows where is a dojo in SoCA??

  • I love Daido Juku!!!!

  • Hey? What's this song and who's it by?

  • cos no kata and very different techniques

  • How did Daido juku(kudo) no longer became part of the karate systems?

  • i didn't know that daido juku was not part of the karate system. it is mixed martial art but the founder incorporated kyokushin and judo, then muay thai, boxing, and wrestling. but the foundation is still kyokushin karate.

  • daido-juku rulz!
