  • this game occasionally still pops in to my head, even though its been many years...its funny how influential things from your early life stick with you. (in the course of the day its not uncommon for transformers, lego, zelda and the magic school bus to cross my mind)

  • OK lyrics are posted. Go to SoundCloud, and search on Nightmare Ned. It's called "The Math Lesson". My account there is called Jim of Seattle if you're interested in hearing anything else I've done over the years.

  • I will add lyrics to my page on SoundCloud later today or tomorrow, so check there. Go to SoundCloud and search on jkoseattle or Jim of Seattle

  • Lyrics Please!

  • ARGH this is fucking awful but I can't get it out of my head!

  • lol i got the pomegranite problem wrong

  • OK if this is grade 3 work then obviously everyone failed grade 3 with this teacher.

  • If I started to hear this is math class, I would freak out.

  • Wait, 999?

Damn, it all makes sense now.

  • school was a nightmare for me since 1st grade. I remember this song.

  • I wrote this song. The producer Leila kept calling me asking when was I going to be finished with the blackboard song!!!??? I had no idea what to write, I was so blocked. I rented a hot rub room for an hour and told myself I had ONE HOUR and I'd better come out of there with something finished. I'm pretty proud of it still.

I'm astounded people remember this! You guys made my day.

  • @jkoseattle I forgot pretty much everything about this game over the years except its soundtrack - this and the Mouse song particularly. I have to hand it to you: those two became embedded in my brain like no other song from a video game ever would until I played Portal so many years later.

    I loved this song.

    Thank you.

  • @DarksporkLeader I've been meaning to reply to this kind post, you really made my week when I read it. Thanks! This morning I created an account on SoundCloud and included all the Ned songs, which reminded me I really needed to thank you. If you want to hear other stuff by me, it's on SoundCloud, search for Jim of Seattle. This really isn't a plug though, just a hearty Thanks!

  • @jkoseattle This song is genius. This is the first computer game my son played when we got our first computer and nothing since has contained a gem even close to this. Hot tub time well spent.

  • @selimsa803 You're so kind! Thanks. I should be saving these kinds of comments in a special file somewhere and pull them out when I'm feeling low.

  • this part made me feel like i was going in circles....used up all my hours at this part XD curse u singing teacher!

  • <3

  • 2... and 2... AND 2 AND 2 AND 2 AND 2

  • Awesome.

  • So children, Shakespeare had given his character Romeo 10938748 love magazins to help him get Juliet's heart by 1649837772387 cubed. Do the multiplication problem in your head and, NED NEEDLEMYER!!!!!!! STRIKE 3, YOU'RE OUT!!!!!

  • Oh God! I could never get past this level. Probably the reason I hate Math classes.

  • A bus leaves the Scarlet Devil Mansion with three passengers boarding at the start.

At Hakugyokurou, one person left, and half a person boarded.

At Yakumo-san's house two people left, how many people left on the bus in total?

The answer is, the answer is, zero people, zero people, that's because, that's because!

There are no buses in Gensokyo!

  • @BrawlerGamma I guess Cirno would be THE STRONGEST in this class.

  • TOO LATE.!!! WRONG.! Next.! WRONG.! Next.! WRONG.!!!! NEXT.! #goooooooooodshit:) btw who the fuck has a name liked MADELINE!!! "i ammmm disappointed" && damn number the paper from 1 to 1908.!!! && on top of that... this crazy bitch says put your calculator away smhhhhh. she fails you before you start -_____-
  • Ms. Psycho, could you repeat the problem for me?

  • One person didn't get the pomegranate question right. ;)

  • Props to the lady singing this song, almost as complicated as Yakko's countries of the world song

  • @perun1nj heck i can sing this XD its just herd to find people who are WILLING to sing a crazy song

  • love this song =)

  • If you solve the math problem at the end, it changes to show Ned's face!

  • ..Plus the market price of kerosene.

  • This song was stuck in my head during my exam week.

I swear I wrote 'The stupid pomegranates weren't even for sale' somewhere on my math exam, since the question mentioned pomegranates as a variable.

I don't know what I got on that exam... :D

But all I know is that I came home and played Nightmare Ned all over again, to rid myself of the exam week nightmare. Ironic.

  • @Starfox64nintendo who says "yay" for a pop quiz? "Show your work and don't be slow!" Btw, the instrumental intro of this song seems to be in the "Disney Interactive" intro. The "Cross out everything you wrote" is where things would really get out of hand.

  • this was always so confusing

  • i have a headache...

  • Ah, Jumping over math questions while trying to keep my head on was fun. I'm going to solve them someday.

  • this song scarred me

  • @Areweonfiya Too late! Wrong! Next!

  • This is my teacher, only more annoying. Yep. My school life.

  • This song is barrowed and Disclaimed for my Music Video where Diddy Kong's the teacher

  • Only a teacher on crack and meth would sing/teach this in front of an entire class of poor high/middle school students. XD

  • She reminds me of Umbridge from Harry Potter! lol

  • i bet even the actor had a hard time doing this

  • every time i was here i was like 'SLOW THE FUCK DOWN!!!!'

  • i thought what she was saying was gonna be needed later in the level...

  • good point

  • My teacher sounded like this. EXACTLY.

  • i used to allways get stuck here

  • Same here. I never figured out how to get out so I avoided this part.

  • yea there was a glitch near the steps where if you pressed against them enough then it just let you through the wall to the end without having to do anything else

  • I am always like "Is she supposed to make sense????"

  • If I were in that class, my head would explode.

  • Gosh, it reminds me Mister Ratburn on helium!

  • @pygmiegoatsheepbeat Lol, good one! =)

  • Comment removed

  • This is so amazing it has made my day sooo much!!!!

  • Subtract a forty-third and dial 9! Divide by 2 and a fourth percent! [???] and divide it all by 99 divide again by 7 and its 46 but how could [???] and if you still dont have the answer simply go ahead and looooook! And get to running to school! Strike three—youre out!

  • @Klagmar Klagmar, I hate to say, but I caught so many errors in your lyrics >.< The majority was good, but there are some things that were just outright wrong :/

  • Youre hopeless! I guess we have to start from the very beginning2and 2and 2 and 2 and 2 and 2 and 2 and 84 and 723 divided by 50! Plus 37 minus 52 plus 8 plus 8700 times the market price of kerosene! Now add 100 round it up by ten divide by 44 then put it in a 9x13 and cook until brown! Then add a million minus 2 plus 40 turn those sixes upside down!

  • Show your work but dont be a slob (?) Ready, set, here we go. One! 82 and 94. Too late! Wrong! Next! Two! 108 and 49! Too late! Wrong! Next! Three! 29 and 98! Wrong--next! 85 and 98! Wrong--next! 18 98! Wrong—next! 99 and 8! Wrong—next! 44 and 8! Wrong--next! 65 and 12! Wrong! 33 and 18! Wrong (a lot)

  • [sigh]you should have gotten that one; I am disappointed. Now we have a nice surprise for you it is a short POP quiz. (Yay!) Get a piece of paper out and put your calculator aWAY! Write your name and then the date! Number the page from one to 1908.

  • If every pomegranate is a quarter then he has enough for all of them like anybody ever needs that much fruit but even if she factors in the interest and depreciation of the average plastic bag (?) and record it the answer still comes to zero because remember that we told you that the stupid pomegranates arent even for sale!!!

  • dividing by the rate of Train B accelerates assuming ducks will quack an average 1800 times a week and have the standard deviation of the rate of Train A!

All rightnow lets try one a little morechallenging

Madeline has 87 pomegranates and her cousin Riley has a $20 bill and 18 dimes! How many pomegranates can her purchase even though they are not for sale, which she has told him over 18 times.

  • Okay I'm writing the lyrics. I got it mostly:

Good morning...now open your math books to page 999, please. Lets look at the first problem.

Train A is carrying 200 people going 80 miles an hour halfway down a 92-mile drive. Train B is carrying 200 ducks and doing 40 plus one mile an hour every time they hear one quack. You simply take the differential of the numerator of the quotient of the people on Train A divided by 9 and multiply it by the integer of the remainder when

  • She sounds like my old Buisness Math Teacher...voice and all!

  • ow my head

  • I have the whole soundtrack on my computer =3

  • i love this levels music XD

  • I wanna see someone sing this whole thing. That would be epicly awesome to the power of anti-fail. You heard me.

  • dang

  • 2 / 4% (too high to understand) and a half (still too high) to zero, cross out everything you wrote but still to find the answers simply go ahead and WRITE! And get ready to score! STRIKE 3, YOU'RE OUT!

  • next: 80 X 98, wrong! 8 + 98, wrong! 99 + 8, wrong! Next, 44 + 8, wrong! 65 + 12, wrong! 33 + 18, wrong (4x, 4 octave higher) WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!!!! YOU'RE HOPELESS! I guess we have to start from the VERY BEGINNING. 2, and 2, (repeats) & 84 + 724 / by 15! plus 37 - 52 + 8 + 87thousand X the market price of care of C, now round 100 rounded up by 10 /by 44 then put it in & 9 X 13 pan until brought and then a million - 2 + 40, turn the 6s upside down, subtract the 43rd and dial 9 towards /

  • it's the market price of kerosene

  • "Good morning, now open your math book to page 999, please. Let's look at the first problem: (Two ninnies?) Carrying 200 people going 80 miles an hour halfway down the 92 mile track! (Convenience?) carrying 200 ducks plus 1 mile an hour every time they hear one quack! Now, simply take the differential of the numerator of the quotient of the people of today divided by nine, and multiply by the integer of the remainder and dividing by the rate, the figure; extend the rate assuming ducks are quack.

  • ...ing averaging 100 times a week and have the standard aviation of the rate of friday!" 3rd verse: "*sigh*, you should've gotten that one, I AM disappointed. Now we have a nice surprise for you, because it's a...pop quiz, yay! Get a piece of paper out and PUT YOUR CAL-CU-LA-TOR A-WAY! Write your name and then the date, number the page from 1 to 1908, show your work and don't get slow! Ready, Set, and here we go! 1: 82 + 94...too late, wrong! Next, 2: 108 + 49...too late, wrong! next, 3: 29 + 98

  • And instead of "standard aviation" it's "standard deviation"

  • She said "Two trains" not "two ninnies". Also she said "Train A" not "Convenience"

  • I always loved this level. xD

    It's so amusing.

  • I dont have the breath to sing this

  • Who wrote this song? It's amazing.

  • I don't think anyone wrote it. They probly just sliped some crack into a math teachers coffie and recorded her as she taught her class.

  • LOL HAHAHAHAHA thats really funny.

but that seems right....it sounds like my

    6th grade math teacher....

    *shudders*

  • @bluebettle Jim Owen. AKA Jim of Seattle.

He's also behind the song the Uvula sings, and that "Welcome to Windows" song.

  • What a bitch...

  • I'm becoming a sophomore next year and hopefully, my periods will be a blast! My counselor proposed the following:

    *German

    *Chemistry

    *Geometry

    *Engineering Graphics.

Like it all, and I may be able to talk to my pen pal in his native tongue.

  • "All right, now let's try one a little more chal-lenging? Madeline has 87 pomegranates and her cousin has a 20 dollar bill and 18 dimes, how many pomegranates can he purchase even though they're not for sale when she was told over 18 times? Every pomegranate is a quarter and he has enough for all of them...cause the answers still become a zero cause we told you that the STUPID POMEGRANATES AREN'T EVEN FOR SALE!!!"

  • @machiner6 Can't blame the teacher for being disappointed that time...

  • There is no way in this universe that ANYONE will solve any of those questions.

  • I used to be able to sing this whole song! D: I'd go into the classroom or whatever just to be able to listen to it.

  • TOO LATE, WRONG, NEXT! lol, loved this game

  • I Loved this game; i wanna buy it agian

  • I can see myself if my teacher ever asked me to solve those questions...

    "uhhh... Can you repeat that?"

    XD

and at the point she says "Let's try something a little more challenging!" I'll be like, "say WUT?"

  • You should have gotten that one, I am disapointed. >=(

  • omg. i thought this song was funny as hell. xD

  • I had a math teacher that would make this bitch cry. In fact, he made some female students cry. I'm not even joking.

  • NICE

  • My favorite song of the game right here! I played the game the other day (After like 10 years) and as I listened to this song I was second guessing the answers to her questions.

  • i had no idea what was going on in this level.....fucking confusing song made me dizzy

  • "Madeline has 87 pomegranates and her cousin Riley has a 20 dollar bill and 18 dimes! How many pomegranates can he purchase, even though their not for sale, which she has told him over 18 times! If every pomegranate is a quarter than he has enough for all of them like anybody ever needs that much probably! But if she factors in the interest and appreciation of the advertised to value 9.8 the answer still will come to zero, because we told you that the stupid pomegrantes aren't even for sale!" :)

  • ahh, you should have gotten that one, I am disapointed.

  • I wrote that too, but I couldn't catch the entirety of it. "TOO LATE, WRONG!"

  • I love this song so much. I like it being looped over and over in the game, it felt like she would go on forever and you really were trapped in school, and when you couldn't understand the lyrics you thought maybe she thought of infinite problems...

  • codys nightmare ned cd is broken.

  • omg I remember trying to sing this song with my friend when we played this game like...10 years ago! This game was super hard.

  • lol... the teacher has an obsession with math and opera, seeing that the math problems she sings don't make sense at all.

  • G-sus Christ, this sounds just like my Geometry teacher that's in my high school!!(im in 10th grade, btw) LOL (except for the part about pomegranents.... lol)

  • ZOMG!!!!

    Same here

Mr.Dobson, our Geometry teacher, would do that if he got the chance!!!!!

  • This level was so strange. I could never get out of the chalkboard!

  • me too! that chalkboard part was so hard, lol.

  • dude i know it took me forever to solve that shit

  • fuckkkkkkk i fell of the line.

clasic comp game back in the day

  • I HATE this level. Ugh...I used to get so mad at it. hahaha

  • Oh thanks for uploading this! "Cause we told you that the stupid pomegranates aren't even for saaaalllllleeeee!" lol

  • Someone should put up the lyrics =D

  • I figured out that the first few chords of this song take part in both when the "Disney Interactive" logo appears and when Ned loses a life.

  • I actually remember FORCING myself to remember the lyrics.. if I ever get the chance, I'll type them out in a sing along or something.

That final math problem is just epic.

  • Oh man, I remember this... this was one of my favorite games as a kid. I miss it so much.

  • i still have it

  • i love this song lolz

  • If i had to learn the lyrics id try to kill myself

  • omg i love this game! X3 i wish i had the lyrics to this song!!! D:

  • if anyone put the whole soundtrack on youtube that'd be so cool!

  • That song hurt my head. XD But still made me laugh, lol. I haven't played this game in the longest time, it still creeps me out. XD

  • I agree with you,I had to listen to that evil teacher for the longest time until I figured out my way out of that chalkboard

  • i have this game and i lost butthat was7 years ago but im so happy i got it again
