the fact that Mrs. Stephenie is a Mormon makes the whole imprinting thing even more creepy. Especially if you consider what's been going down in the news lately with that texas utah FLDS click cult or whatever it is. Mormons, well the famous ones, seem to be very much into child grooming..
thank you for pointing out how illogical so much of twilight is, S. Meyer contradicts herself so many times and it always irks me whenever my friends say, "But it's true love"
one time my english teacher said that it's not creepy because until they're grown they won't have any of "those" feelings, but I was like no, it's still creepy.
Oh thank god for this video, I though I was the only one who didnt like imprinting... scratch that, HATE it. It totally limits the girl's choice to have a life because their bound to a dude who believes their nonexistent connection is better than being 'soulmates'. Bah. It's mainly bull to just get you to produce their offspring. Not LOVE or that baloney...that's my opinion :)
wait if imprinting is a device only used by werewolves how can Jacob imprint on renesmee [yeah I spelt her name wrong deal with it] a vampire, oh and it is disgusting in the early years of the imprintee the imprinter will act as a sibling then as the imprintee gets older that's when the whole "romance" thing kicks in. I'm sorry but anyone who supports pedo's should go to hell
Well really...its not about LOVE so its not AS gross as some point it ut to be. it says in the books, when talking about quil imprinting with the 2 year old claire, that it doesnt mean TRUE LOVE. it means really caring about the person ad wanting to protect them, even if it goes a little overboard in my opinion. still, not AS bad. just my opinion.
All right I feel really weird about this but I'm going to disagree, on one thing. In the original Eastern European lore vampires frequently procreated with humans to create half-breed children which were called Dhampirs. So really the Renesme thing isn't that bizarre.
All right thats my little defense of Twilght, Jacob's imprinting on a baby doesn't bother me as much as the apparent sexism involved with the imprinting process and the fact he marries her at 7.
I agree with your argument, though I find it funny whenever people mention "science" and "facts" when it comes to Meyer's books or vampires in general. How can there be hard data on fictional creatures that don't exist? Don't get me wrong, I agree with you 100%. I just find it a bit amusing.
Your a genius. You rock, you make videos pointing out Twilights flaws you don't think Edward is perfect, you agree that Leah is one of the only decent characters and you like Evanescence.
One thing that really bothered me about imprinting is the idea that Jacob is basically going to always be there for Renesmee since birth. So he'll probably be a babysitter, best friend, etc when she's younger, then when she's old enough, he's gonna bang her. Sorry, to me, that's like screwing an older brother or an uncle. Jacob may not be blood related, but he has a close relationship with her since childhood and it's disgusting that it's going to be sexual instead of family based.
Also, even if Renesmee was physically mature by seven, it is impossible for one to mature mentally/emotionally that fast as well. Even if she was mature for her age, she wouldn't be THAT mature.
Imprinting seems pretty sexist to me. A girl has to go with a guy just because he has some weird psychological thing for you and will rip your face off if you say no?
just what i was about to say, its SO sexist, the whole book is. i really hated when edward left bella&she threw off a cliff! seriously, that's screwed up. anyways, back to imprinting.
its really sexist. what if you dont like the person who imprinted on you? what if he is a jerk? woman should have a choice! but no, in meyers world, men have the power &they rule woman!
and that you are raised to be with someone thats sickk!
yeah one of the reasons i'm team trilogy to a point. S.meyer never liked the character Jacob who her editers etc basically gave life to, he was just a plot advancement for twilight. so that's one of the reasons she "murdered" him in BD.
she totally destroyed her own universe with him imprinting on a half vamp, who is not susposed to exist, the whole treason to his pack, and basically making imprinting worthless him imprinting on his natural enemy is ridiculous not to mention his loves and her husbands child? Like he was only into Bella because she would give birth to the demon kid one day soooo sick.
and S. meyer must have really hated Leah --all female shapeshifers are infertile that 's ridiculous, if male shifters are like an eternal "25" than female shifters should be too. no period that makes no freakin sense and what she can't imprint-- just the dudes get to make babies. how can she be so freakin sexiest and she's a female author O! she's a part of a f'ed up mormon sect-- i forgot..
Hey Jacob... why don't you take a seat?

This is such a great video. I have never realised anything that you have mentioned except for imprinting is disgusting.
Please continue to make more of these videos. They are entertaining and always have me thinking "that's so true!"
Well done!
