4:18 - 4:19 is so cool. The way she yells it, and moves while yelling it. Awesome. I thought this would be another ''boring'' singer but she scored with that hahaah.
for me, she is one of the most undervalued talents nowadays. this is truly amazing, by far, the best performance oh this aria that i´ve heard, but by a longshot... this is truly wonderful!
Patricia Petibon est faite pour Mozart, où l'émotion n'est jamais extravagante. Elle a la même retenue, la même rigueur que lui, et la même aisance, qui font qu'il y a lesz opéras de Mozart, et les autres.
Some mozart roles are traditionally casted with more dramatic coloratura voices, for instance Constanze, Elettra, Gunia ,Donna Anna, Fiordilgi ,Aspasia ,Vitellia and others.
My favorite french opera singer is Emma Shapplin, she was the reason i started studying singing. While this woman has a fantastic voice,Emma sings with an emotion that is just breath taking...I highly recommend you listen to her.
OH please, Emma Shapplin can barely sing, let alone show emotion. Petibon is blessed with a great voice and her technique is fantastic, not to talk about knowing her pieces thoroughly and possessing natural and creative musical talent and flair.
Yeah and that logic makes Bocelli the greatest Italian tenor ever!!! Dream on!!! You want some great French opera singers? Try Piau, Dessay, Alagna, Crespin, Bacquier, Gens, Mesple, Pons, Vanzo, Thills and then try listening to Shaplin again!
I have never heard Emma Shapplin. Even if she can barely sing why can't someone express their opinion about a singer without someone either taking it as a personal attack or as an attack on another singer?
Because there are people in this world who can not accept other people's opinons..i never stated Emma shapplin was the worlds best opera singer or anything close to that, but i guess thats youtube for you:)so much for self expression huh?
becouse there are opinions that seem to be made by donkeys, they are offensive, destructive, and show a lot ignorance..... youtube esta lleno de bestias...... uno como no se va a enojar...
you are kind of stupid.... arent you??? i mean... does it make any sense to compare this twowomen???? i recommendo you to visit your doctor, you are going deaf, and also you should take some music appreciation clases before starting your singing practice que man tan burro
Well, I must admit I hardly understand your comment : in addition to have a God given singing voice, Patricia Petibon is one of the most expressive current sopranos. This aria's no exception : can't you see, hear and feel the drama from the first to the last note ? I don't recall ever hearing a soprano putting so much emotion in this aria.
The whole performance, whit many other great artists will be available soon. Patricia tale me maybe at the end of the year. let's hope! DVD edition is often quite unsure!
Raphael, put more records of Patrícia Petibon. i love her so much. Unafortunally, the only place that i found the new work's her is in the French Amazon, much more expensive than the american. So, put something more, while i wait the works come to more near than me. Thanks.
amazing, though she scares me on moments, she has a scary face :)

Her voice is too light for the part.

mozart isn't really a dramatic composer. I don't see how she is too light. her colorautra is excellent.

She's wonderful, beautiful tone, fantastic coloratura, great actress...
but... I'm a little disturbed by the way her tongue moves on high notes... it's like a little serpent inside her mouth.. just a tad provokative.
Still love her though :]
