holy crap i just looked up the price for these and im laughing my ass off. who the fuck would pay 350$ for this rofl!!!!!! how do they stay in business by selling 3 of them a year rofl
I kinda want to create music with a science-fiction sound. I think this pedal might help in that regard, although I'd have no idea what to do with it...
...or get a Ring Thing that's a ton more versatile (you can plug an expression pedal into it, etc) and has programmable presets that you can step through, just like this. Oh, and it's $200 less.

I would get down to my local music store and try one immediately, but unfortunately neither Guitar Amp & Keyboard nor Bonners (this is in england) sell Zvex pedals D:
not really, it works pretty well for the right circumstances. bearing in mind the band Devvo had some of their biggest hits using ring mods, paranoid by black sabbath uses a ring mod not a distortion.
Combine that with the fact that ring mods are generally more useful with synths and keyboards and you kinda see where its uses lie
yeah, but because they make them by hand, and the technology is so unique, they unfortunately have to charge this much. otherwise they couldn't make them at all. pedals like these are fun toys, but i'm low on money as it is, and this thing just doesn't earn what it costs.
So this thing would let you do some really interesting stuff in the studio and and some crazy textures to a recording, but I couldn't see how you can practically use it live. It's a cool studio tool.
great pedal to give you really other-worldly, calculator, bleepy sounds but the problem I have found is that once you step on the bypass switch and then turn it on again the pedal starts at the beginning of the sequence which isn't so good if you use it in step-mode like I do.
really? so, if you're on the third light, and press the bypass switch, then press it on again, it's starts at the first light not the third? if so, for a £200 pedal, that sucks.
Wow, you found a way to make ring modulator way more useful.
It would be even more cool if you could vary how many of the tunable notes along the top it cycles through so you could fit more easily with different time signatures.
When in step mode, the 'random' button should act as a tap tempo switch. Thats all its missing. That aside, I'm still getting one

why are none of the knobs labeled. theres so may and the whole thing is very obscure to begin with

@OnlyByFishStandards I don't think that the odd zvex pedals appeals to a great number of people, like say, the mxr pedals which are pretty 'vanilla'.
