Rather late response, but better late than never, I guess. The phone's nearing a year of age. On the subject of Android, while you won't be getting the same experience one would get when using an actual Android phone, if you know the right forums (hint: xda) you can get an unofficial port of Android to work.
There's a lot that isn't working (3D games are very choppy, GPS/camera don't work, lots of bugs, battery life is very poor) and those won't be fixed within a month or two either, though.
This one doesn't LOOK like a diamond!!! The first one had diamond shaped back side so the name fitted like a glove, but for this one the name is 100% fail! Sorry!

The battery of the Diamond 2 is much more better than in the Diamond 1. Also you will be able to update the Diamond 2 to Windows Mobile 6.5 in August. TouchFlo 3D hides nearly complete the Windows Mobile, so you can handle it easily.
The only negative things in my eyes are:
- The lacquer at the back. you will see every fingerprint and mud.
- The touchscreen is too reflective
- a LED for taking photos in the dark is not there, but thats not the biggest problem

Sorry,i dont know what gsm version is..but if you keep the defult settings with the backlight maybe it givs you more than 5 hours battery life..by the way i don't like the 900mAh

SPRINT / NEXTEL has sprint mail... in other words... u need internet to do picture messaging.... THAT SUCKS... i know, i have 2 sprint phones..3 alltel... ALLTEL is much better than sprint... i do anything i want with my HTC TOUCH DIAMOND.... !!! GOOD PHONE ... i added so many apps it does everything... i luv skyfire browser

You can buy as extra 1200mAh or 1800mAh to have long life battery,900mAh is alredy in..Not the big deal.......
