@ShawnVikaKomova2012 i also heard that it was a 6.8 but it will be the 2nd highest difficulty vault when Hong un Jong performs it at the 2013 worlds if she qualifies. If she does, she might have the two highest difficulties unless McKayla Maroney upgrades her vaults. Hong definetly has some time thought to keep working on it and try and get it close to perfection as possible. She could become the new vault world champion
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 definetly. she wouldve swept gold and left Oksana with the silver. If America doesnt put Maroney or Sacramone on the team for event finals, America wouldnt qualifiy for that final because Shawn and Wieber dont train two vaults, unless wieber can pull off a second vault
@brycehelmer I think they'll take Maroney. I, in all honesty, can't see Sacramone being on the team what with Maroney and only having five girls. As the alternate, it's only slightly possible... I think that Maroney, Wieber, Johnson, Bross, Ross, and Liukin will take the 2012 spots and the alternate spot. Geddert said Wieber doesn't do two vaults because she doesn't flip forward well. The same as Shawn. Did you know Viktoria now has a second vault? A Yurchenko 1/2 on front pike off! 4.8 D score.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 She has a chance of making the vault finals with that second vault. But its kinda low in start value. If she wants to get some ground, she needs to add in her amanar again. I agree with the USA team. Maroney, Johnson, Liukin, Bross, Ross, and Sacramone as the alternate. I like Ally, but she might not make as the alternate
@brycehelmer With that and her Amanar, Komova makes the vault EF but probably could only place 5th at best. There's no point in that second vault unless she plans on upgrading it to, I'm guessing, a Lopez. Sorry, I'm a bit confused. No Wieber on that team? I like Ally as well but she doesn't add much to the team that the other girls (who can do more than decent bar sets) can't make up.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 I forgot to put her down. lol But a lot of people think Mattie Larson would be on the team. i doubt she will be. The team with wieber i have now would be Wieber, Johnson, Liukin, Bross, and a battle between Maroney and Ross for that final spot. Then its just a battle between Sacramone and Raisman for that alternate. And i think Wieber would be stepping up for a leadership role, or if Sacramone will still do it even if she is alternate
@brycehelmer That team works well. I think Maroney's a lock and Bross and Ross would fight for the final spot... I can't see Raisman not making the team but I can't see her being used for anything... They could just bring them both (ASac and Ally) haha.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Can I just say I love all of your little "discussions" lol.....how do you know so much about gymnastics? Your compliments to Sage have taken on a whole new meaning to me ;)
@supergymnastsage Haha, you saying that means so much! Basically from the internet... Reading the CoP was a nightmare... Haha. And I'm so happy to hear that. Out of all videos of girls on YouTube that are 10 or younger, Sage definitely has the most potential. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if she made it to the Olympics and became an AA champ. You're truly blessed to have her, haha!
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 You're very sweet to say that :) I guess I am a pessimist when it comes to the olympics...I've almost convinced myself that it is next to impossible to make it if you live in the USA. I KNOW she has the talent, but will she have the luck, connections, and stay injury free, etc... only time will tell.
@supergymnastsage Well if she's able to do free walkovers at the park for fun, then she probably knows how to maintain her body and stay safe, haha. And from what I've seen, she'll probably be able to do a freewalkover + flic-flac + layout stepout on beam soon if she isn't already! That right there's a great connnction! What type of gymnast is she hoping to be? More powerful or artistic? I'd say she's right in the middle. If she has a good coach, she definitely has a shot with that raw talent.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 She's just planning to be "the best in the world" in her words ;) She does have a great coach who has won USA elite coach of the year once and USA choreographer of the year 4 times, but she is getting older. If she retires, we may have to move...
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 She says that she won't retire until she gets Sage through her career, but she's about 61, so we'll see ;) She was set to retire at age 65 until Sage came to her gym...she changed her plans for her. Hopefully it will stay that way.
@supergymnastsage Aww, that's so kind of her! And I don't blame her. I'd do the same! Does Sage plan on competing only at one Olympic Games? Or is she not thinking about all that yet, haha?
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Sorry if I'm butting in, but I was thinking of what Komova could upgrade her second vault to something Valeria Maksyuta does in her second vault
@GymnasticsFan1144 Not butting in at all. Haha, I love talking gymnastics with you. And yeah, I totally see that. The front pike 1/1. A 5.5 I think... Komova could do it from the Yurchenko 1/2 on for a difficulty of 5.7? That sounds about right considering it's not in the CoP, haha. That's definitely a possibility! More likely than the Lopez.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Haha thanks! I like talking about gymnastics with you too! And yeah I hope she upgrades so she can make all finals next year in London!
@GymnasticsFan1144 That would be incredible! Her and Mustafina have fantastic chances. But I really want Afanasyeva in FX finals... Maybe a tie in qualifications? Haha.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 I want Afansyeva in FX finals too..I hope a tie! But idk Musty can score higher than Afans not sure if Komova can..it will be close! I can't stand the two per country rule -__-
@GymnasticsFan1144 I can't either... It's one of my least favorite parts of this sport. I think Komova could score about the same as Afanasyeva if she hits her spins because I think she's going to have all of her landings down perfectly in 2012. You saw her Voronin floor routine from day 2 this year, right? She got a 14.8!
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Yeahh both Afans and Komova aren't consistent with their spins but they I have seen them both perform them beautifully! And Komova is really improving her routine from Voronin Cup Day 2 was probably one of her best! I think at Worlds she was kinda tired so she didn't stick them as well but she's definitely improving!
@GymnasticsFan1144 Yeah, I agree. Her issue at Worlds was she was tired. People were complaining saying she'll do bad in the Olympics because she doesn't fight on beam and on floor. Haha, they definitely didn't realize she had only a few months of full training. And they can do their spins amazingly. Komova's spins used to be a lot better. Not sure what happened.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 I know! I can't stand it when people say "she doesn't fight" or "she has poor sportsmanship" or "her hair is greasy" (i mean really..come on now?!) But she was tired and training was tough considering how long she had to be prepared and I wasn't even sure she'd do aa in Tokyo but she did..I like that about her!
@GymnasticsFan1144 I agree! I wasn't confident in her being ready for AA. I thought Dementyeva would be their first and then her and Ksenia would battle for it! Love how she did her best to come back for Russia, even if she did seem sick. I hate when people say those things. Especially the second! I don't understand how the judges could've been so negligent for Wieber... And the "hair is greasy" is just pathetic. Those people obviously can't think of any way to insult her beautiful gymnastics.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Me too, I thought Demy would get a medal especially with all her upgrades, but she didn't perform to her fullest potential (wasn't she sick with a fever?) I know, her sportsmanship wasn't the best but come on what is she supposed to do? Smile cause she just got robbed of gold :D (sarcasm) She was disappointed in herself that's why I think she cried..but it's natural to cry when your disappointed. And I think Wieber was overscored surprise surprise & I agree it is pathetic
@GymnasticsFan1144 If she did what Maksyuta does( which i think is a Khorkina II vault), it brings her up from a 4.8 to a 5.9 so she could have a shot at the bronze medal
@brycehelmer I think Maksyuta does a front pike 1/1 as her forward vault. It's a 5.5. She could still get bronze with that considering Komova actually does it from a Yurchenko 1/2 on! She could get it named after her! The Komova III! That would be something.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 true. Komova is really making a name for herself. I mean, she really came out of nowhere and made a big impact at the Singapore youth olympic games. And she debuted her own move there too.
@brycehelmer She really is! I didn't even expect her to be Russia's top AAer in Tokyo! An incredible recovery. I had my bets on Dementyeva being used as their top AAer... I wish she was used... Poor girl.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Well with Mustafina gone, they needed Dementyeva to be their hope or bring up another junior. If Mustafina didnt get injured, then the russians wouldnt have medaled in that final. but i dont have a doubt that Dementyeva would be selected as one of the 5.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 For team final its USA or Russia in 1st and 2nd and Romania in 3rd. For AA its Mustafina in 1st and Wieber or Komova in 2nd and 3rd. the event finals are tricky though. what are you if i may ask?
@brycehelmer For team, 1st Russia, 2nd USA, 3rd Romania. AA, 1st Komova, 2nd Mustafina, 3rd Iordache. Wieber's going to be on that podium no doubt but this is my dream podium, haha. VT, 1st Maroney, 2nd Cheng, 3rd Chuso and Musty tie. This isn't possible unless (Musty'll do a 6.5 and 6.1) Chuso does a Rudi (6.3), and a Tsuk 2.5 and they give it a 6.3 difficulty (but that's too low) and the two tie execution-wise. Again, dreaming, haha. UB, 1st Komova, 2nd Mustafina, 3rd Qiushuang. CONTINUED.
@brycehelmer CONTINUED. BB, 1st Komova, 2nd Porgras, 3rd Zeng and Iordache tie. (Zeng has a 6.4 and Iordache a 6.7 so Zeng would need to upgrade or Iordache would miss connections). This is all dreaming, I have no doubt that they won't have the same difficulty and execution scores, haha. FX- 1st Murakami, 2nd Afanasyeva, 3rd Izbasa and Sui tie. More unrealistic ties. Izbasa has a 6.0 D score and Sui a 6.2 so Izbasa could do her new 1.5 + triple + stag for a 6.1, Sui miss her stag. I'm crazy haha
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Thats true about Izbasa. Komova i doubt would be in the balance beam finals, she could if she upgrades her difficulty. The two people for Russia i think in the beam final would be Mustafina and Dementyeva. Komova would definetly be in uneven bars final. Komova could snatch that gold medal there, but its only if Beth Tweddle and He Kexin dont qualify. Beth I can see qualifying, but Kexin might fall again like always. Komova would have to overcome Beth tho
@brycehelmer I think Komova will be in beam finals. She had a 6.1 when she did full difficulty in Tokyo. I think she's going to get her switch ring leap back. I wouldn't be surprised if she goes after the Patterson either. Remember, she got 15.4 in qualifications on beam. When she hits, her execution can be sky high! Sadly, I don't even see Dementyeva making the team. It's possible, but with the other girls they have, she doesn't seem to add much. Grishina would be lovely in the BB final. CONT.
@brycehelmer CONTINUED. I think Komova has gold on bars. She said in her interview she still has some skills (plural) to add on bars. This could be her piked Tkachev and possibly a Fabrichnova? I don't think He has the execution to win, even if she hits with that 7.6 difficulty. I feel like Komova can beat Tweddle if she does get those upgrades. What else can Tweddle add? It'll be a great showdown. Let's not forget Mustafina and the two Huangs! Even Johnson (weird right?) and Liukin for a medal.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Liukin could get a bronze, if other mess up majorly. If Komova upgrades then she could beat Beth, but Beth could be upgrading her routine now. Mustafina is ok on bars to me. i dont think Musty will get a gold for bars. I know Kexin wouldnt qualify because she has been showing consistency in falling and having dead hangs. Johnson would qualify, but i doubt she would get a medal. I think the standings for DREAM would be Komova, Mustafina, and Liukin.
@brycehelmer I just can't imagine Beth upgrading anything on bars... She could add in some stuff just for CV but other than that... I think Mustafina could win gold on bars if she does the Chow 1/2 immediately after her Pak and does a flawless routine. That's a good dream podium but in all honestly, I don't want Liukin there at all. Haha, I can't stand her bars.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Thats what i was think about Beth is doing stuff for CV. i think her only major upgrade was if she adds her church release back into her routine. Liukin could manage getting a bronze, but only if Huang Quishuang falls or does another major error. Mustafina could manage it and the AA, but she does need to clean up a few things, especially on floor and vault.
@brycehelmer Mustafina doesn't really need to clean up anything to win the AA, she just needs to hit and hope Komova doesn't. She has fantastic landings on floor and everything on vault besides her form is absolute perfection! And where would Beth add her Church? Immediately before the dismount? Haha, that would be something...
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Thats where i was think Beth would add her church and get a CV for it as well. Mustafina's form on bars, and beam are perfection, as well as her floor. Her vault needs a tiny bit of more height so she doesnt get under rotated again and get another serious injury. and her legs get sloppy from time to time. But i think thats the only problem i have with her gymnastics is her vault form. Everything else with her in my opinion is great to perfection.
@brycehelmer That would be interesting. I haven't seen a release into a dismount in a long time. I think Mustafina had PLENTY and more height in 2010, she just didn't do enough numbers before Euros. I thought the reason for her injury was that she sickles her feet and when she landed, her leg was slightly locked, turned inward, and she landed on one foot a slight second before the other. Yes, her legs are sloppy, but many gymnasts were like that in the 80s and 90s.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Her world championships vault height was good,i cant disagree with that.I just think Musty needs a tad bit more height so she can get all the way around easier and get a better landing. Her injury was caused by a little under rotation and her left foot facing inward on the landing.Sloppy legs were common in the 80s and 90s, but i dont think they got a significant deduction for it.Mustafina does sickle her feet, but not as sickled as Bross's in my opinion.
@brycehelmer I think they'd only deduct -0.05 and that was if your legs were really sloppy haha. Yeah, Bross doesn't have a choice to sickle her feet because she's knock-kneed.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 she really is, and does she still have her shin injury? i know it has been affecting her, expecially at the 2010 worlds. I know she's back training after she had the major injury at nationals.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Thats the one thing i admire about Bross. She has great determination no matter what injury she has. Its like Alicia Sacramone. I'm not a big fan of her, but her vaults and her beam routine are very impressive.
@brycehelmer I agree. I really like Bross's bars and for some reason, her feet don't bother me at all any more. Obviously, I much prefer the form of the Russians or Chinese, but she has great pirouettes on bars! And yes, she has a great attitude.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Well, China has some of the best work on the bars. and they learn great form at a young age, and its natural for them do that instead of having major form breaks besides maybe dead hangs
@brycehelmer It's a shame that the Chinese have dead hangs. Without them, they'd be getting in the 9s in execution! I feel like ever since compulsories have gone, the Chinese have started getting lots of dead hangs. And yes, China clearly has the best body position on bars, haha.
What's the difference between a yurchenko and a salto? They look the same to me- though I am just a fan, not someone who has actually done the sport. Thanks!
I think people is shocked to see the best female vaulter being chinese, but Cheng Fei indeed is the best female vaulter in history. Both Cheng Fei and Hong Un Jong can perform TWO 6.5 start value vaults and both of them being asian.
I wish there was more variety in vaults today, but everyone's going for the most difficult vaults, so all you mostly see these days are yurchenko double twists and yurchenko 2.5 twists. :(
was natalia yurchenko the first out of men and women to compete that style of vault? or did the men do it first and its just easier to call it yurchenko (like tsukaharas) for both?
I know Hong Un Jong apparently has a TTY, but wasn't there some other young lady...from either China or PRK that had a TTY in Comp? I could have sworn I saw it on video a while back of a lady doing it. So far I've only seen Sasha Artemev on the Mens side do it at Nationals. Would be nice to start seeing that Vault. After watching Chengs 2.5 twist... I have no doubt that she can get that extra 1/2 twist in.
has a women ever done a triple twist vault cause like i know the men do or is there some restriction on it so that women can't? sorry i know im really stupid when it comes to the code of points and gymnastics rules lol :):):)
It has been rumored that Hong Un Jong was planning to do a Triple Twisting Yurchenko at Beijing last year, but only opted to do an Amanar because Cheng Fei fell on her second vault.
That doesn't make sense to me...I think it should be that it the difficulty increases .5 with each extra half twist you do - From a full twist at 5.0, one and half 5.5, double twist 6.0 and two and half 6.5. :P
Bravo MostepanovaFan! Great video! I just want to let you know that I appreciate the fact that you've uploaded so many gymnastics videos! I can't even imagine how much time and hard work went into your youtube channel! From your newest fan!
Excellent montage. Just one tiny thing - Milosovici's vault wasn't strictly a yurchenko with half turn but a hristakaeva (half turn into layout front). Sorry to be so pedantic!!
@MrAerial12345 I heard a 6.8 in women's.

brycehelmer 1 month ago
@brycehelmer She really is! I didn't even expect her to be Russia's top AAer in Tokyo! An incredible recovery. I had my bets on Dementyeva being used as their top AAer... I wish she was used... Poor girl.
ShawnVikaKomova2012 1 month ago
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Well with Mustafina gone, they needed Dementyeva to be their hope or bring up another junior. If Mustafina didnt get injured, then the russians wouldnt have medaled in that final. but i dont have a doubt that Dementyeva would be selected as one of the 5.
brycehelmer 1 month ago
@brycehelmer I'm just curious, what would your dream podiums for 2012 be?
ShawnVikaKomova2012 1 month ago
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 For team final its USA or Russia in 1st and 2nd and Romania in 3rd. For AA its Mustafina in 1st and Wieber or Komova in 2nd and 3rd. the event finals are tricky though. what are you if i may ask?
brycehelmer 1 month ago
CONTINUED.
ShawnVikaKomova2012 1 month ago
ShawnVikaKomova2012 1 month ago
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Thats true about Izbasa. Komova i doubt would be in the balance beam finals, she could if she upgrades her difficulty. The two people for Russia i think in the beam final would be Mustafina and Dementyeva. Komova would definetly be in uneven bars final. Komova could snatch that gold medal there, but its only if Beth Tweddle and He Kexin dont qualify. Beth I can see qualifying, but Kexin might fall again like always. Komova would have to overcome Beth tho
brycehelmer 1 month ago
@brycehelmer I think Komova will be in beam finals. She had a 6.1 when she did full difficulty in Tokyo. I think she's going to get her switch ring leap back. I wouldn't be surprised if she goes after the Patterson either. Remember, she got 15.4 in qualifications on beam. When she hits, her execution can be sky high! Sadly, I don't even see Dementyeva making the team. It's possible, but with the other girls they have, she doesn't seem to add much. Grishina would be lovely in the BB final. CONT.
ShawnVikaKomova2012 1 month ago
@brycehelmer CONTINUED. I think Komova has gold on bars. She said in her interview she still has some skills (plural) to add on bars. This could be her piked Tkachev and possibly a Fabrichnova? I don't think He has the execution to win, even if she hits with that 7.6 difficulty. I feel like Komova can beat Tweddle if she does get those upgrades. What else can Tweddle add? It'll be a great showdown. Let's not forget Mustafina and the two Huangs! Even Johnson (weird right?) and Liukin for a medal.
ShawnVikaKomova2012 1 month ago
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Liukin could get a bronze, if other mess up majorly. If Komova upgrades then she could beat Beth, but Beth could be upgrading her routine now. Mustafina is ok on bars to me. i dont think Musty will get a gold for bars. I know Kexin wouldnt qualify because she has been showing consistency in falling and having dead hangs. Johnson would qualify, but i doubt she would get a medal. I think the standings for DREAM would be Komova, Mustafina, and Liukin.
brycehelmer 1 month ago
@brycehelmer I just can't imagine Beth upgrading anything on bars... She could add in some stuff just for CV but other than that... I think Mustafina could win gold on bars if she does the Chow 1/2 immediately after her Pak and does a flawless routine. That's a good dream podium but in all honestly, I don't want Liukin there at all. Haha, I can't stand her bars.
ShawnVikaKomova2012 1 month ago
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Thats what i was think about Beth is doing stuff for CV. i think her only major upgrade was if she adds her church release back into her routine. Liukin could manage getting a bronze, but only if Huang Quishuang falls or does another major error. Mustafina could manage it and the AA, but she does need to clean up a few things, especially on floor and vault.
brycehelmer 1 month ago
@brycehelmer Mustafina doesn't really need to clean up anything to win the AA, she just needs to hit and hope Komova doesn't. She has fantastic landings on floor and everything on vault besides her form is absolute perfection! And where would Beth add her Church? Immediately before the dismount? Haha, that would be something...
ShawnVikaKomova2012 1 month ago
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Thats where i was think Beth would add her church and get a CV for it as well. Mustafina's form on bars, and beam are perfection, as well as her floor. Her vault needs a tiny bit of more height so she doesnt get under rotated again and get another serious injury. and her legs get sloppy from time to time. But i think thats the only problem i have with her gymnastics is her vault form. Everything else with her in my opinion is great to perfection.
brycehelmer 1 month ago
@brycehelmer That would be interesting. I haven't seen a release into a dismount in a long time. I think Mustafina had PLENTY and more height in 2010, she just didn't do enough numbers before Euros. I thought the reason for her injury was that she sickles her feet and when she landed, her leg was slightly locked, turned inward, and she landed on one foot a slight second before the other. Yes, her legs are sloppy, but many gymnasts were like that in the 80s and 90s.
ShawnVikaKomova2012 1 month ago
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Her world championships vault height was good,i cant disagree with that.I just think Musty needs a tad bit more height so she can get all the way around easier and get a better landing. Her injury was caused by a little under rotation and her left foot facing inward on the landing.Sloppy legs were common in the 80s and 90s, but i dont think they got a significant deduction for it.Mustafina does sickle her feet, but not as sickled as Bross's in my opinion.
brycehelmer 1 month ago
@brycehelmer I think they'd only deduct -0.05 and that was if your legs were really sloppy haha. Yeah, Bross doesn't have a choice to sickle her feet because she's knock-kneed.
ShawnVikaKomova2012 1 month ago
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 she really is, and does she still have her shin injury? i know it has been affecting her, expecially at the 2010 worlds. I know she's back training after she had the major injury at nationals.
brycehelmer 1 month ago
@brycehelmer Yeah, I'm not sure. She'll probably be fighting through it this coming year if she still has it.
ShawnVikaKomova2012 1 month ago
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Thats the one thing i admire about Bross. She has great determination no matter what injury she has. Its like Alicia Sacramone. I'm not a big fan of her, but her vaults and her beam routine are very impressive.
brycehelmer 1 month ago
@brycehelmer I agree. I really like Bross's bars and for some reason, her feet don't bother me at all any more. Obviously, I much prefer the form of the Russians or Chinese, but she has great pirouettes on bars! And yes, she has a great attitude.
ShawnVikaKomova2012 4 weeks ago
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 Well, China has some of the best work on the bars. and they learn great form at a young age, and its natural for them do that instead of having major form breaks besides maybe dead hangs
brycehelmer 4 weeks ago
@brycehelmer It's a shame that the Chinese have dead hangs. Without them, they'd be getting in the 9s in execution! I feel like ever since compulsories have gone, the Chinese have started getting lots of dead hangs. And yes, China clearly has the best body position on bars, haha.

why is a piked yurchenko more difficult than a straight/layed out yurchenko?
smileygurl576 3 months ago
What's the difference between a yurchenko and a salto? They look the same to me- though I am just a fan, not someone who has actually done the sport. Thanks!

I think people is shocked to see the best female vaulter being chinese, but Cheng Fei indeed is the best female vaulter in history. Both Cheng Fei and Hong Un Jong can perform TWO 6.5 start value vaults and both of them being asian.
Planetimage2 6 months ago
@Planetimage2 For doing two vaults, Cheng Fei's the best ever. For doing one vault, Produnova is.

what is a " Phelps" vault??
13shifter 2 years ago
They aren't in the code anymore. It was named after Jaycie Phelps. It's like a half on with an arabian layout off.
LiveBreatheLoveGym 2 years ago
o i c! i guess that would be pretty easy. like everyone in the 1999 world's and 2000 olympics did it.
13shifter 2 years ago
yeah, it's a little bit harder than it sounds because the twists have to be completed at a certain time.

Tatiana Nabieva overrotated her Amanar and ended up with some that looked like a TTY. Her form was pretty craptacular though

I heard that Olympic champion Hung Un Jong was training a triple twisting yurchenko right before the Olympics, but decided not to throw it.

thanks :) yeah i heard that too i was just wondering like what start value it would be but shes a great vaulter anyway
darkeyes2404 2 years ago
If I was her, I would have done it in the prelims. Because, even if you fall, you'll still get 15.400 upward.

Why's a 1.5 twisting (straight) Yurchenko 5.3? What happened to 5.500?
X
willsbob123 2 years ago
I think that Tsukahara's should be worth more to create more parity between the Tsukahara style and Yurchenko style vaults.
TsubasaDreams 2 years ago
They're downgrading the value for the 1.5 twisting yurchenko??
AlixPelletier 2 years ago
Yes from a 5.5 to a 5.3
MostepanovaFan 2 years ago
That doesn't make sense to me...I think it should be that it the difficulty increases .5 with each extra half twist you do - From a full twist at 5.0, one and half 5.5, double twist 6.0 and two and half 6.5. :P
AlixPelletier 2 years ago
is it true that a 1.5 would be downgraded to 5.3P?

goldfish424 3 years ago
someone can do it..but i think, it is very hard to maintain the pike position when twisting..
that is just an observation cause i noticed that there are few twisting piked saltos on the vault..
expelliarmus1234 2 years ago
There are piked twisting elements, but the twisting usually comes after the piked salto and is right before landing.
MySportsFanatic 2 years ago
Excellent montage. Just one tiny thing - Milosovici's vault wasn't strictly a yurchenko with half turn but a hristakaeva (half turn into layout front). Sorry to be so pedantic!!
