  • Meat, fish, fruit, veg, eggs, olive oil, nuts, minimal non-gluten grains and small amount of yoghurt/butter/cottage cheese. All you need for optimal health. Organic where availabililty and reasonable pricing allows. Cut out all gluten, refined sugar and vegetable oils.

Exercise moderately. Drink moderate green/white tea, moderate alcohol, and a decent amount of water.

Most of all relax, don't worry, and be happy :) life is to be enjoyed, not feared.

  • I wonder if this has anything to do his effeminate voice... low testosterone levels?

  • @SebbeSucksBawlz hes a fag

  • I feel so bad for those people, makes me want to cook them up a grass-fed prime rib roast :(

  • Lucky are those who go on a fad diet who fall of the wagon instead of getting onto the slippery slope of orthorexia ending up a raw food vegan or worse still fruitarian. It ends with being a breatharian and early death.

  • @HrapovikPlush eat animals for health

  • Driving a car with a blindfold on causes problems too.

  • @PassTheFruit its a wind up

  • @Lakkhesis1976 Am i supposed 2 ??

  • @01photon I guess not. Nobody else on 811 does either.

  • @Lakkhesis1976 U bore the crap out of me..sorry.. :(

  • @01photon You make me fear for the world's future. Later!

  • @Lakkhesis1976 u get that a lot from your ex-boyfriends i guess....Happy Hollidays.

  • you 8010 faggots make me laugh! your all the same.

  • the old man does have a point... the key here is a balanced diet, stop eating processed foods, eat as natural as you can, lots of veggies, some animal/fish (organic if you can), fruits... I've never known or heard about vegans and fruitarians before in my life, but after watching some vids on youtube, this is looking exactly like a religion war... except with food. eat healthy, and that means healthy animal meats too, nuts, fruits, the whole bit.

  • @ObamaWasBornlnKenya No they don't, they run on glucose. Glycogen fuels muscle to do work. Where do you come up with this nonsense? The brain can only run on glucose.

  • @ObamaWasBornlnKenya Are you kidding me? Doug Graham looks like a dried up prune, Harley Johnstone verges on concentration camp. I can't SEE gorgeous, marvellous, glorious, incredible YOU and find it hard to believe that you've been a raw vegan for your ENTIRE life... The grandiosity is remarkable though.

  • @doucheriders Still, if you're eliminating ALL carbs from your diet, you're limited to pretty much meat and eggs (even dairy has sugars). Also, a low-carb diet by nature is high-fat, unless you're cheating by eating isolated protein powders, and the thought of eating 70+% of my calories from fat just makes me sick.

  • Comment removed

  • @iusecomputerstoo Still, you have to be open to the idea that 80/10/10'ers may have irrational fears of toxins. For instance, the belief that one doesn't need any more fat and protein than the tiny amounts that exist in fruits and vegetables, and that anything over and above that is "toxic." That's kind of an extreme statement.

  • @rpmangin It's also completely stupid. At those levels hormones will not function properly because of reduced fat intake amd muscle loss is a guarantee and will result in sarcopenia. One needs to remember that those who follow dietary dogma often lie about what they really eat and the problems it causes them.

  • @LordShandor I've heard that those people who claim to be raw vegan bodybuilders are actually cheating by using isolated soy protein powder.

  • @rpmangin Or rice protein or similar. Also steroids. Most vegans got back to eating meat because of health problems, they lie about how great it is in the meantime.

  • @ObamaWasBornlnKenya What exactly is my argument? That 811 is an extreme, dysfunctional eating disorder based on the poorest presenting principles I have ever SEEN, and that it's fans and followers are doing themselves an incredibly grave disservice by excessively fruit gorging on a daily basis. And that it's 'community' is full of people, such as yourself, who have utterly rudimentary, if any, knowledge of human physiology whilst taking on an incredibly off-putting, aggressive attitude.

  • @ObamaWasBornlnKenya whats up with doug grahams neck? that aint right. he looks sickly. What do fitness models eat? NOT your bullshit diet

  • @doucheriders Doug Graham has a "sick looking neck" because he's almost 60 years old! I'd like to see you look like you're 25 when you're 60, it can't be done no matter WHAT you eat!

  • @ObamaWasBornlnKenya It sounds like you ONLY understand the barest, most skeletal of 'basics' as served to you by Graham/Durianrider: 'Cells run on glucose' - what an asinine simplification of cellular physiology and nutritional requirements!! What do you think you THEN need to convert glucose into ATP/energy? Sheer faith? Pfffft. Even if it WAS the simple case that 'cells run on glucose', GLUCOSE is not the same as FRUCTOSE.

  • Dates: more fructose than glucose. Bananas: equal fructose to glucose. What IS your body going to do with all that excess fructose over time, huh? Convert it to triglycerides, just like every other human body in the universe, I'd say.

  • Comment removed

  • @ObamaWasBornlnKenya Yeah, you're right. 4 years of physiology and nutritional biochemistry study and an eventual degree got me absolutely NOWHERE.

  • @ObamaWasBornlnKenya you're preaching to the choir. i think that your last comment was meant for someone else.

  • Comment removed

  • That super skinny guy isn't on 80/10/10. He's not getting enough calories because he's eating mostly vegetables.....so this video title is bullshit.

  • @ObamaWasBornlnKenya You make authoritative statements like this as though you're an expert scientist, but where is your rationale for the sweeping statement that 'humans are meant to run on a high carb, low fat, vegan diet' or that fruit is the 'best source for feeding cells'? They're completely unsubstantiated statements. As is the case for all claims made for 80/10/10.

  • Comment removed

  • @Lakkhesis1976 Still, some of those paleos are @#$#ed up too. There are some that claim humans can thrive on a diet that's 70% fat calories! There has to be a balance between 80% carbs and 70% fat - get too many carbs and one's pancreas will explode; get too many fat calories and one's arteries will explode! What to do, what to do?...

  • @rpmangin On the flip side, there are some paleos that advocate 70+% carbs, but those carbs are mainly starchy tubers, not mainly fruits.

  • @rpmangin What to do? Read all the material you can, then put it down and work out what works for you, your body and the lifestyle you want. It's so crazy that we've been brainwashed to believe that we'll find the answers in an effing BOOK.

  • @ObamaWasBornlnKenya Where did you get the insane idea that people who eat a 'paleo' diet would even touch KFC? The whole paradigm is built around sourcing wild/organic/grassfed meats and you'd find that almost everyone eating 'paleo' is just as averse to fast food as most raw food vegans are.

I've seen you around a lot, and find it sad that you're so unable to think critically for yourself and prefer staying glued to Harley's asinine cult rather than build your own philosophy.

  • @SeasonViolet maybe if he got some healthy fats in hes brain, it might function??

  • @ObamaWasBornlnKenya ive read 80/10/10, thank god i didnt buy it. I read a pirated ebook. Its total bollocks my friend, humans are never meant for all that sugar!!

  • @doucheriders Dude, This is a merging religion and we are the new infidels! Just look at the way they treat ANYONE who disagrees with them! Move over radical Islam! The radical Vegans puts you to shame! Prepare for public executions where people have their heads cut off with sharpened stalks of celery!! LOL...Could happen.

  • This isn't a 80/10/10 warning video. It's an under-eating warning and anti-OCD video. The only reason I keep track of what I eat at this point (easy on an iPhone - myfitnesspal) is to make sure I eat enough (3000 cals min) and with enough variation - fruits and leafy greens mostly.

I'm sure organic is better for the environment, but I'd rather eat old-ish supermarket fruits/vegetables than skip a meal or eat a snickers or fall back on other animal products due to under-eating then binge eating.

  • In your face durianrider.

  • The problem is mental illness not rawfood....These people have mental disorders! Its a fact when you kill the animal the meat is flooded with hormones like adrenaline, when you eat the meat those hormones which build up over time in the human body will make you more aggressive. As for living longer this is false, its only because infant death at birth has been lowered. This generation may out live there kids because the kids eat so unheathy!

  • I love how these dogmatic vegan retards insist that their diet is perfect and refuse to accept that they're living a delusion.

  • the guy had an eating disorder in the first place. anyone, on any kind of diet, can have an eating disorder, its not necessarily the diet that's the issue. also the people shown arent on 80/10/10... i don't know whats right, i think openmindedness and being honest with yourself to care for your mental health aswell as your body is healthy. i think if the guy can't find enough food he likes at the grocery store, he should move to the country and grow food, otherwise obviously he is starving

  • if 811 is so bad, then why am i thriving?

  • @shannondangc try paleo

  • @doucheriders I was paleo before I did 811. Never felt better!!

  • It's a good video and brings up a lot of the issues of being way too dogmatic about something to the detriment of your own vitality.

Change the title though! None of the people in this video are even close to eating 80/10/10.

  • @RichieFruitbat Yeah, they should remove the "80/10/10" part from the beginning, because ANY type of diet could be considered orthoexic if it's unnecessarily restrictive (ie, someone doesn't eat fruit because of too much sugar).

  • EAT PALOE GET CANCER AND HEART DISEASE. EAT FRUIT AND REVERSE ACIDOSIS AND CLEAN YOUR PLAQUE ARTERIES.

  • @juicememelon bullshit

  • LMAO this girl and guy are starving themselves probably eating 500 cals a day. Did you know (assuming you don't) that 80/10/10 diet is about eating AT LEAST 3000cals a day, and if you even MOVE you should be eating 4000-7000 depending on activity level. Get your facts straight before you start posting s*** like this

  • This is the one of the most biased news segments I've seen in quite a while, I wish I could say I'm shocked, but I've been raised to expect nothing less from American propagandist news. "obsessed with health? Eating the right foods? You don't want that America! Take your pill, go to mcdonald's, and shut up."

  • i think you're cherry-picking. that lady said she didn't eat tropical fruit or veggies...that's basically all Harley eats lol. anyone can become excessive with their diet.

  • @StopmeatGoveg Not eating veggies!!? What is that person smoking? I thought the one thing all cuckoo health nuts, the fat-phobic (Durianrider) and the carb-phobic (Mark Sisson) alike, had in common was they at least eat VEGETABLES!!!

  • @rpmangin for sure, so it kinda validates the point that she wasn't on the 80/10/10 diet. and it showed on her list of food that she ate chicken - not something vegetarians consume. as for the other guy - he seemed more like he was into the organic movement. i could tell by what he was eating and his empty kitchen that he wasn't on 811. i just don't understand how this video applies to Harley or 811ers. if anything, it proves everyone else's diet is wrong and leads to eating disorders.

  • Comment removed

  • @rpmangin i'm not sure you understand what 80/10/10 means. 80% or more cals from carbs, 10% or less from fat and protein. nuts and seeds are full of fat! we aren't orthorexic about them, cuz we still eat em, just not for the majority of our cals. sounds more like gourmet raw to me. 811ers get most of their cals from fruit-not avoid it. and for the record, i'm not orthorexic - i eat all the fruit and veg i care for. and unlike those twats in that vid, i've gained 10 lbs. of muscle.

  • @StopmeatGoveg If you look on the internet, there are more failures of restricted diets such as 80/10/10 than there are successes. The more (whole) foods you eliminate from your diet, the less room for error there is. Also, some people are fructose malasorpent (which affects up to 40% of the world's population), and therefore cannot eat many fruits that are higher in fructose than glucose, further restricting one's diet on 80/10/10. If fruit is our most natural food, then why is that?

  • @rpmangin i guess i never heard about that. so what you're saying is 40% of the world is allergic to soda, which contains HIGH FRUCTOSE corn syrup? amazing how coca cola and pepsi are still in business with that many people allergic their products. a lot of people are allergic to milk - does that stop them? nope

btw if meat is so natural, why must you cook it? don't you think it's bizarre humans are the only species on the planet that has to cook certain foods before they can eat them?

  • @StopmeatGoveg There actually ARE cultures that eat raw meat (google "children eating raw reindeer"). Most people just have to cook it because, unless we do all our own hunting, we usually just keep meat in storage, where it has the chance to gather bacteria, which cooking kills. Also, the problem with eating only uncooked foods is that there are aren't many concentrated calorie sources, so raw foodists (unless high fat) end up overeating on low-calorie dense foods.

  • @rpmangin have you seen d.r.'s vid on that dude who eats raw meat? his teeth are all rotted out. i am aware BUT i think folks would be turned off by the taste of raw flesh and wouldn't eat it. raw animal flesh is super acidic and pulls calcium from bones just to digest. when you say 'over-eat,' that's really in comparison to everyone else. idk if you want to eat meat fine, i just think it's messed up to call 811 orthorexics and unhealthy based on my own experiences and achievements.

  • @StopmeatGoveg There are reports of people who go on 80/10/10 who rot their teeth too. There was a teenager who never had a single cavity on the SAD diet, but ended up having every dental problem in the book about a year or so after going 80/10/10. If meat-eaters develop tooth problems, you people blame the diet. If an 80/10/10'er develops tooth problems, you guys claim they developed them before starting the diet.

  • @rpmangin Anyway, the point I have been trying to make is, there is no such thing as a perfect diet for ALL humans. Human genetics are way to variable for that, due to the varying lifestyle choices of our ancestors. If 80/10/10 works for you in the long run, it is just due to luck of the genetic lottery. If 80/10/10 doesn't work for someone, they are just not genetically programmed for it.

  • @rpmangin lol so you're a former 811er? were u getting in enough greens? they're sposed to reminerlize your bones. i eat a 1-2 lb salad every night. had my teeth checked at the 7 month mark and they were fine. true not everyone can do this diet - if i was allergic to nanners i'd replace them w/potatoes, rice, quinoa, etc. some people find an excuse to eat meat/dairy, others find an alternative.

  • @StopmeatGoveg I'm not 811, but I have contemplated it before, until I started reading around Richard Nikoley's "freetheanimal" website, where I found someone who doesn't crave fruit at all (disproving that sweet tooth is "instinct") and has been eating raw meat for the past 15 years, without getting sick, again, disproving that humans are naturally repulsed by raw meat. It is possible that our disgust to raw meat IS what has been programmed into us by society.

  • @rpmangin oh, should have said never been 811.

  • @rpmangin Also on same website, that is where I found links to legitimate 811 failures despite people following the diet correctly and experiencing fantastic results at first. I think most people's initial success on 811 is not because of what they ARE eating, but because of what they're NOT eating (all the processed junk in SAD).

  • @StopmeatGoveg What kind of greens do you eat on such a diet? I live in a small rural town in northwestern Illinois (about 50 miles away from the nearest metrocenter), and from what I see in HyVee or Wal-Mart (the nearest full-scale grocery stores), most greens available, apart from lettuce and spinach, aren't fully digestible in their raw form. For instance, I've heard you're not supposed to eat kale or collard greens raw. Is that true or is that a lie?

  • @StopmeatGoveg I'm not sure many people would be happy eating plain starches. Nobody I know eats them without loading them with salt and/or butter.

  • @StopmeatGoveg 75% of the world is lactose intolerant, but that doesn't hurt the dairy industry, so therefore, 40% FM doesn't necessarily result in death of the soda industry.

  • @rpmangin thanks for proving my point. just cuz people are allergic to dairy doesn't stop them from consuming it. so why must people w/fructose malabsorbtion stop eating pears, apples, watermelon, especially if they don't eat them frequently. dude i don't wanna keep bickering w/you. you ain't changing me and i ain't changing you, so why argue?

  • @StopmeatGoveg I'm pretty sure the point of this video is about orthoexia in general, not just the 80/10/10'ers, which could be considered a form of orthoexia. Some orthoexics are fruit-phobic (including many raw vegans too).

  • This guy looks just like durianrider!

  • Eschewing processed foods, grains, and most rich sources of carbohydrates and sugar is NOT a sign of orthorexia. It is a sign that you have done your homework and know something about what constitutes a healthy diet, which should include ample meat to provide protein and fat and satiety, and also a generous portion of vegetables (not potatoes) and moderate fruit. What is orthorexic is abstaining from everything and only eating raw fruits and vegetables - i.e. durianrider.

  • @alphacause Yeah, but the problem is, whole natural foods aren't found in the common supermarkets. For instance, almost all meat sold in grocery stores is factory farmed (aka, grain-fed), not naturally pasture-raised, so it isn't exactly the same profile our paleolithic ancestors ate. The few that are grass-fed aren't very cheap. In order to get such meats, you have to have an almost exclusive locally farmed source, and that isn't always reliable either.

  • @rpmangin In short, all those food companies, which are SUPPOSED to make life EASIER for us, are turning potentially healthy whole natural foods into poison somewhat, then they have the nerve to claim "personal responsibility" whenever widespread health problems show up! With true health foods so hard to find, it's no wonder some percentage of the population is turning orthoexic!

  • I am so sorry for these people the real anorexic...nothing else...!!!! Young Johnny please X10 what you are eating....the lady counting your claories X8 ...nothing wrong with your diet information ..its YOU..

  • WTF?! this guy is here on youtube, his account name is MyOwnStickFigure... he used to have an eating disorder. That is not 80/10/10:s fault.

  • @thatfruitarianchick USED to have an eating disorder...?

  • this dude sounds like dan mcdonald aka liferegenerator

  • @doucheriders

this guy on the vid has his own channel here, MY OWN STICK

hes crazy and a food kook, also a transvestite

  • omg ,this is ridiculous, these people are starving themselves by not eating fruit. 80/10/10'ers promote high calorie diets of 3000cals a day or more. The 80/10/10'ers are performing the best in sports. Low-carb raw is stuuuupid.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @jezzieBell05 80/10/10ers are only 'performing the best in sports' because the lifestyle is marketed around fitness and equates fitness with health, which is inaccurate. With enough caloric intake, hydration, rest and disclipine to maniacally train, ANY able bodied person can achieve great results in their chosen sport, irrespective of what they eat. 80/10/10 has nothing to do with sporting success, except that a higher intake of carbohydrate is required to excell in most sports.

  • @jezzieBell05 Additionally, you have to bear in mind that not everyone is interested in achieving an 'elite' level of fitness. I'm certainly not. I want to be fit and healthy, but have no interest in marathons or cycling races. Why? Because I can't think of a more boring way to spend a great deal of valuable time. For those who genuinely love it, great. But MOST people don't.

  • @Lakkhesis1976 I totally agree that training heaps is boring. Thats why I do short burst training. It takes no longer then 15mins at a time. Being high-carb raw gives you desire to move your body and superior muscle repair and build, so you get much more out of less. You don't need to convince a monkey to climb trees, or a dog to chase balls, they just do it cause they love it. Same thing happens when humans eat the food they were designed for. Exercise = Play.
