@terran236 a silvery transparent one same size and shape of the yellow tortex same thickness also. Marty's "sign" on one side, and his name on the other. Think the brand might say "fernandos" it's worn there :p
Megadeth will never be the same without Marty. His solos had so much feel in them, as much as I love Chris Broderick, even he can't play Martys solos the way Marty plays them.
In my opinion,Marty is in top 3 guitar players of all time. His style is so interesting, unique, worm and powerful (but also frustrating for me when I try to play some of his megadeth or solo albums stuff).
One thing that people forget is that Marty is not just a shredding metal guitarist, he's a musician who also knows how to shred, he appreciates all forms of music; thus why he left Megadeth and experimented with J-pop. It still bothers me that he would do stuff like that now, but after realizing he's not just a metal guy I totally understand.
Love marty's playing to death. So musical and creative. But everyone needs to stop knockin chris. I fuckin hate when people say youcan shred nuts or play with emotion not both. Chris damn well does both and does all of marty's works justice better than glen or al.
@justy014 dont know about the bass player. Dont like the drummer. But search Takayoshi Ohmura in youtube and then do the favor of facepalming yourself.
@Guitardude81597 this version of Tornado of Souls is from his solo record from 2006 Future Addict. That album was a bunch of punk metal remakes of his old songs. He left megadeth to diversify, which he certainly has with his metal fusion albums in japan and his tv shows, acting, record label, and collabs.
Man look how happy he is when he plays that lick at 2:50, and how the crowd anticipates and reacts to it. It's moments like that that make guitar solos into classics. It sounds great and is a lot of fun to play.
he looks so damn happy and energized when he plays the tornado of souls solo. damn you marty for going to live in japan and not going with megadeth. i love chris, but original is always better.
that vibrato is godly. I like that he played the future addict version of Tornado of Souls for this, its much better for these instrumental shows. That looked like a really fun show. My jaw nearly fell off in the first big vibrato in the forbidden city solo.
@rampage222555 Still try to imitate that huge vibrato.....That one and Yngwies.... It been 25 years now though! When I hear Marty playing those crying leads i always feel my guitar playing has no feeling at all...LOL. More.....practice.....
although marty is very good guitar player as well as excellent solo writer, he's ain't a good song composer. this video suggest all the elements are not mixed very well. that's why he's only good during his time in megadeth
it's so fucking unfair that friedman kan nail a solo like that when he is moving around so much and banging his head, i can't even fucking nail it when i'm sitting down concentrating.
I saw Megadeth last year for the Clash of the Titans reunion, and noticed that Broderick played every thing spot on, and I was right in front of him ready to see for myself if he was playing everything like off of the RIP album, for which I saw the original Clash of the Titans tour as well. Then I watched him play on YouTube vids, this is why I commented previously that Broderick doesn't have to take note, he obviously did take note and thus why he can play it exactly like it sounds on the RIP
I have uploaded Dragons Kiss with Gus G and Amagi goe from the same concert and from the same distance! Check them if you like! All the solos are right there!!!!!
Thanks. comments..it's hard to listen to without Dave Elefson and Nick Menza, Chris Broderick doesn't need to take note he is flawless. I have been working on this solo for a while now, and the tab in multiple guitar mags and the Rust In Piece book are not how Marty plays this. The part at 2:49 is tabbed differently then Marty plays and how Chris plays it. Thanks for the close up as it confirms I am playing it correctly..just never had that close of a shot..great job man!
@ShinobisZ Thanks! Yeah, I ve noticed too that some parts on this solo are played in different positions than what we are used to play, however I always try to get the feel more than the exact notes so it doesn't really bother me that I don't stick to it 100% especially in the fast runs.....Anyway, I will not be auditioning for Megadeth anytime soon so.....LOL
@irmasil3 I know and completely agree, it always pisses me off though when I learn guitar parts and then they switch it up on me. Back when I was learning Rush and Van Halen, when you had to go to watch them in concert and fight to get up front General Admission so you could see how they played something, it so much easier with youtube. I am now trying to learn the part at 2:31 the way he his playing it here..just to do it. lol Thanks for the vid again.
@ShinobisZ For me the worst part was learning some stuff by ear and then seeing it live, they were much easier, like involving a certain trick or position shift I didn't thought and I was ....Damn!!That was some wasting!!! LOL ... Sometimes though my fingers will just wont go to the places that my favorite guitarist wants...even if its easier for a part to be played that way!!! Guitar is an incredible thing that never ends.........
@ShinobisZ Marty always played that part a little differently live than he did in the studio. Chris actually plays that part closer to the studio version than Marty ever did, but I also like to play it the way Marty does.
@moonsault2506123 Well, it just looks like that.I was too closed and I moved a bit when he came forth to give some space hens the...almost interaction scene...
@tyranakok Thanks! I have some more....I am think of uploading them too.Cool stuff like amagi goe and Dragons Mistress with Mr.Gus G as a guest. From the same range!!!!
