cool ill be using this from now on on my kicks and snares n smoothly on hats at some points ...thats why when i analyze my tunes on serato i dont see the kicks and snares well defined ..u made my day ..thnx again
man you are awesome i have learnt so much just by watching two of your vids and am well on ma way to making a living off ma music...thanks and keep uploading!
Wow, that's an odd problem lol. Umm, you could just drop the kick drum that you are using back into the thing and rename it sidechain and paste the pattern onto it.
Yes, that's a beauty with sidechaining. There are dozens of ways to do it, with 1,000's of combonations which cause like an infinite number of possibilities and unique sounds! Always experiment with how you can do things, or with just new things in general. If it sounds good, then it is good.
@TylerClarkOfficial You should sidechain using a Limiter instead of using the mixer track - it's cleaner upon rendering and doesn't screw up any sort of edison work you might be doing. Might save you a headache here and there.
A really really good sidechain (one I do) and probably should make a tutorial on it is tethering it to an EQ band causing a filter / cutoff effect to the sound, and also tethering it to the volume or a compressor. Putting it on the compressor really just does that same thing as the volume, unless you tether it to the Threshold in the compressor which gives you a little different effect. Gain = volume essentially inside a certain perameter.
@TylerClarkOfficial Completely right there too. Another nice effect is sidechaining to a distortion (Adds a nice grit to the ends of bassline notes :D)
You add regular compression sidechaining at the same time... Sexy sexy.
(Also, know you were wondering about some of my work (for the possible collab)... Don't have a lot of recent out.
Should release in a couple weeks (Working like a dog as well), and I'll let you know then.
@TylerClarkOfficial Agree. Most times i do SC i take an EQ on the Lead, Bass, whatever so i can link the kick to a low band, the hihat to a high band and so on. In fact, i sidechain everything to everything. :-D
You can also use Gross Beat, i think it comes with fl studio, at least i dont remeber downloading it. it has a sidechain option. Anyways, that what i use
@TheDJChaxxx I find it alright, i know its not as good as this method, but i dont think its really bad. i think the diference is really the compression. gross beat just changes volume i'm guessing, and doesnt really compress the sound, right ?
@MikeDabaze I'm not an expert, but for sidechaining: Peak Controler, for some fx: Gross Beat OR! there is another cool plugin (free) you can use for some similar fx like gross beats and many more ---> Double Glitch <-- here's some demo: watch?v=Fw9GPy31p8w
I found a much easier way to get practically the same effect. I'm not dissing you or anything, I just thought you might want to take a look at this and maybe post another video or just try it out ya know?
Here's a screenshot I took of the effect in use.
i53 *DOT* tinypic *DOT* com/11h8pkx *DOT* png
Of course you'll have to fix the dots with real periods for the link to work. But just create an automation clip on the volume knob of the lead like I did in the picture and it should work
Tyler, just a question: what about presenting us some really classic sample packs most people use to produce electro music? something like vengeance electro essentials or something
@TylerClarkOfficial why not? jail is for cool guys! :D well i actually didn't ask for DL-links or any warez or something :) anyways, i think the whole vengeance series are pretty awesome but pretty expensive aswell. are there any cheaper sample packages which are similar to those of vengeance series?
thanks man.

Is it really neccesary to clone your track? Is it also possible to put the peak controller without muting on the original sound?
DJFastsPodcast 1 month ago
@DJFastsPodcast
Yes! But cloning gives seperate control over you sidechain sound and the kick drum that is going throughout the track.

Definitely, side chain that deep bass to the kick and it will really help bring out your kick give a more "head bob" feel to the track overall.

@tigercheetahllam also do u recommend getting the FL studio producer or the one for 300 with the plug ins for cheaper price to make this style music?

@RuvexOfficial
You don't have to use that exact soundpack or sample. It works with any sample :). But the soundpack is from a company called Vengeance.

Like @Flipjunkie said, the mix volume knob is effective, but if you want a really good pump, sidechain the gain on a compressor. :D
