chuck, so open, so vulnerable - great pioneer with a number of BRAVE others who DARED to sing, perform, give and write for the Lord God. Gdd's love remans!
This is absolutely priceless! To see a beautiful Woman of God and a wonderful Man of God such as Kathryn Kuhlman and Chuck Smith sitting together and talking about the things of God with the original "Jesus Freaks" of the Jesus Movement is beyond measure. And to see the love and unity that they had together in just loving Jesus is beautiful beyond words. Thank you for posting this!
lovesong...awesome!!! praise Jesus for these ministers of song. the Holy Ghost used them to bless me as a new christian from 1976. also kathryn kuhlman and chuck smith, it was such an exciting time...and still is.
True love for Jesus came from the teens and twentysomethings that came to the Lord at this time. Sure some went back and walked no more with the Lord, but that is true in every time. As long as those people are alive there is still room for repentance. God grant it that they will turn to him. What beautiful kids!
Harmonies are amazing priceless. my parents were part of the "Jesus movement" if you will and are still serving the Lord and even as their child Ican feel the power and the love of christ in the songs sung by many of the christian artist of this era. They minister to me even now and many bring me to tears as I think of the love of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
Thanks for posting this of chuck. i really enjoyed him back in the day.i got a lot of my inspiration from him in song writing musicalstorehouse com or org
I gave up rock after I became a Christian. Love Song's music was God giving music back to me. I enjoy rock now, but never in the same way. It's not the way to God.
This is the most amazing thing I've seen on YouTube!! C'mon!! The original Love Song combo performing "Welcome Back" live, back in the day!!! This footage is priceless!! What a superb "live" performance of their great song!
I became a Christian in 1974. My church was in Upland, but I visited Calvary Chapel one weekend, and they said, "We have a guest in the audience, maybe we can persuade him to get up and sing a couple songs... and Andre Crouch got up and sang "How Can I Say Thanks" and a couple others. It was awesome. My buddy Chad and I used to sing "Little Country Church" at our little church Life Bible Fellowship. Thanks for this memory.
Those days were so beautiful - I still feel that amazing outpouring of the Spirit flood over me when I hear this music - the lyrics speak to me ever-deeper as the years go by. I miss my old Love Song album, and wish I could download it from Amazon or somewhere. Blessings on you, Love Song!

We would love to see more Chuck Girard music, we were raised on his music now four of my brothers our spirit filled pastors! my brother steve and I met him in Chino CA,I love his "VOICE OF THE WIND" CD its great!
The Jesus movement was like living in the book of acts. This clip is rich in history featuring Chuch Smith, Catherine Colemann and of course Chuck Girard.
I have enjoyed Chuck Girard since the mid 70s and saw him in concert at Millersville State University in PA in the fall of 1977. I agree with those who have thanked you for posting this!
I gave Chuck Girard my actual Love Song longplay album last year when they had a reunion concert at Calvary Chapel. I bought the cd's from his website. Thanks, Chuck.
Wow! So glad I stumbled across this one. I saw Love Song in 72 when they were the "house band" at Calvary, singing in the tent. I still have their first album.
You look at your Pastor in the face with such confidence and say "Father, I play Christ metal." and the father says "The very stereotypical metal that has Jesus upside down, on a cross burning at certain times?" "Yes father the very same, it is true." "Well then, son only God can save you at this time, and let us pray he can forgive you, and spare your eternal soul for your sins my son."
She had her own ministry & tv show & they were just guests. But her manner was very over the top which was just her loving personality. She also had a healing ministry & did meetings across the country. So she was just reconizing the movement of God in youth.
Kathyrn was a very gracious woman. I knew her back then. And we were ALL overtly happy back then. I think the world, and especially the church could use a dose of that today! Great video!
Oh I definately agree. I'm not familiar with her, was she also a part of the original Calvary Chapel movement? She seems very nurturing and definatley excited to see these young hippies comming to Jesus. I wasn't putting here down in the slightest. The part with her nodding in agreement with the lead singer was making me laugh though. Gosh, was a new and fresh time this was. The '60s had it's drawbacks but kids were searching though...they were hungry unlike most of todays' generation
Probably 1970-71. I sure wish Dave would consider uploading this one again with the first 3 minutes or so cut out, especially anything involving Kathyrn Kuhlman.
HAHAHAHAH.. WOW chuck looks sooooo young here.. kinda cracks me up how his face looks too be no ore than mid 20s but yet he has this big ol facial hair and bushy beard thing.
please post more vids like this from the old days oc CCM.. these pioneers were the best.
