I knew the song because a part of the lyrics are in one of Haruki murakami's books, then I heard it in the gift shop and haven't left the place until the song ended :)
what the hell, im a jazz musician why are all these great songs on this game? Is this like a juxposition with the music and the game like a clockwork orange?
The game is set in similar period of time as these songs. I guess there is a tad bit of juxtapoition between the relative jollyness of some of the songs and the gritty, dystopic nature of the game.
@aliens563 I haven't actually read A Clockwork Orange, but I think it may be the same sort of idea... the series is set in a dystopian alternate past, so the inclusion of cheery 1950s/60s style posters, imagery, and music comes across as ironic and gives the game an element of satire that is pretty complex for a game.
As a person who has never played Bioshock 2 and has listened to the high quality version of the same song, I really like effects they added to make it sound worn or old.
This song doesn't play on a loading screen- It only plays in the Gift Shop area. The loading-screen montage in this video is just something I made from a bunch of screenshots. :P
I want all the Bioshock 2 music on my iPod. O_o
I love it all
