  • Merci pour cette vidéo, merveilleux souvenir de mon enfance

  • Great, I remember this show dutifully dubbed into Spanish from the mid to late sixties, it was quite popular, there even was a bus doing the rounds in my rural town named "El Tiki" after Captain Troy´s ship.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • I loved this show since I was a little girl. In those they I was looking forward to watch this great show. Thank you very much to whom that bring back my happiness. Thanks.

  • Que de souvenirs...?.

  • Que de souvnirs...?.

  • I used to hunker down each week right after school to breathe in the life of Troy's Paradise. After graduating I joined the Coast Guard and was stationed in Honolulu. I remained in Hawaii and discovered Gardner McKay retired in Hawaii Kai . He used to paddle his kayak on the canal to a coffee shop each day. I tried to reach him by email before he passed away to say Thank you for pointing the way to Paradise. I also got to fulfill my dream of going to Tahiti. Thank you giving us this show. Aloha

  • The late fifties and early sixties... American television at it's best.

  • Always heard about this show, but never saw a clip from it until now. It was gone from TV before I was old enough to have seen and processed it in my mind. The show didn't get much syndication, as I recall. I always heard the line about "Whatever happened to Gardner McKay?", and of course that Jimmy Buffett line about "take me on the Leaky Tiki".

  • this looks a cool show. this is the first time I have seen this. thanks for sharing it. has any episodes ever been available on dvd? as a resident of the u.k. i am starved of classic television of this sort. cheers

wow this looks a really cool show, thanks for sharing. Have any episodes ever been made available on dvd? Living in the uk I rarely get a chance to see classic television such as this. cheers 1

  • Loved watching this as a child. The Pacific Ocean seemed so exotic. Thanks for the upload.

  • Love you for posting this, Captainetroy!!!! And your son's music is great!! I really enjoyed the addition to your links!!!

  • This show was so magical to me as a kid...especially the Opening theme....still has that impact ....beautiful ...

  • I wonder if the series is on TV anywhere...

  • I remember being in church on Sunday mornings and thinking about going home and watching this show. It always put me in a good mood and gave me something to look forward to during church. I was just a kid so dont give me a hard time about not wanting to be in church!

  • Thank you for bringing back the memories of this great TV show. I wish it would be released on DVD. BTW, where did you find this?

  • what a terrific show! thanks for the nostalgia blast! i watched this when i was 3 or 4!

  • Me too !!

  • I too was inspired by this program and tropical climate. Moved to Florida in 82, Not impressed. I just married a Filipina, bought some ocean front property in the Philippines and will move there as soon as I can retire. Just need a sail boat to complete the dream. I have noticed that many of the native women in this program are Filiipina. Thanks for the dream!

  • MEMORIES!

Wow, I used to watch this show when I was

just a kid. Wish this kind of entertainment was available

for viewing today instead of the crap we're being

    offered.

  • Watched that show when i was 12, got me interested in south seas and exotic island girls. Always dreamed of retiring to Tahiti having a boat with girl crew. Now I retire to Thailand in 2 years, same tropical climate , beautiful women and beaches. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • Thank you! I finally know how Gardner McKay looked. I've wondered about his appearance for 30 years, at least. Well, I have to say, it was worth the wait. Wow!

  • Wow, this really bring back some fun memories, I was in grade school, but I remember Mr. McKay, I thought he was so handsome....

  • This was my most favourite tv show when I was about 11........I was so in love with Gardner McKay!!

  • My favorite show He had the most gorgeous eyes, they would melt your heart

  • Yes they certainly did.......there was something about his face, those cheekbones and those lips.........and that smile........!!!

  • I liked the romance of the South Seas ... I wished I could be Adam Troy and have all those adventures. And that theme song!! It is, in one word, luscious.

    Brian

  • I always wished I was one of the passengers....even the 'bad' women looked glamorous......there was always a plot and an adventure aboard and everything was resolved by the end of the episode. Then they all happily sailed off into the sunset.....and Adam Troy would give 'That' smile!

  • margo was great.

  • Interesting that in those days you did not have to show bloody gore the way you have to today. You can let the imagination do it. Too bad TV and movies have lost this.

  • Paradise in black and white? Those were the days of early tv.

  • Thanks for posting this. Loved Gardner McKay,he was very classy so was the show!

  • I had completely forgotten Adam Troy. Thanks for reminding

  • wow. . .I had no idea about these clips being on here. Hey Hey, Gardner McKay, take us on the leaky Tiki with you. . .Blue sky, bound for Shanghai, sail across the ocean blue. . .so blue. . .

  • lol....Parrothead perhaps? Love the song as well as the show. I'm a big Parrothead myself. Todays shows just seem to of lost their sense of adventure. Not to mention, the writers just don't seem that intelliget enough for great programming. Of course, not all of em are like that, but geeze...I'm bout over Hollywoods grrediness b/s and crappy reality shows. Hey, ever remember a show called Tales of the Flying Monkey?

  • It doesn't ring a bell.

nothing I like better than sitting on a beach in Mexico, drinking a michelada and playing music with friends.

  • SECgatorFAN, excuse me, but that was 'Tales of the Gold Monkey' Stephen Collins, Caitlin O'Heaney, Roddy McDowall, and Jeff MacKay.

  • I stand corrected. Thankyou. Great show, but unfortuantely so short lived. I would love to see this show on dvd though as well as Tales of the Golden Monkey. I wished they would remake a legendary show like this in modern time, but I'm afraid it wouldn't survive in todays times.

  • SECgatorFAN, I'm afraid you're right. This sort of program is from a more refined era. I wish I had seen these when they first aired. I loved and still love 'Tales from the Gold Monkey'. I also liked 'Bring 'Em Back Alive', another short-lived series from not so long ago. Anna

  • Mr McKay was in the Social Register.

  • Gardner McKay was my first TV crush -- what a beautiful man. Thanks for posting this.

  • BTW, My video of the song "Southern Cross" is dedicated to the memory of the series "Adventures in Paradise" & in particular to Gardner McKay......& again, thnx for posting this video.

  • Thnx for posting this video of my fav TV show when I was a young teenager. Some years ago I read with sadness the obituary of Gardner McKay. He was quite an accomplished person. Please post more of the episodes if you have them.....BTW, 5*.

  • Le Tiki... Le séduisant capitaine Troy... Que de magnifiques souvenirs et d'aventures colorées... et pourtant avec le "noir et blanc" de l'époque ! c'était magique.

  • Martin Manulis also produced "THE MANY LOVES OF DOBIE GILLIS" for Fox that season; this originally aired on October 5, 1959. By the way, other than creating the title and establishing the story line and characters, James Michener had very little to do with this series...

  • What a great memmory, all the kids going to the only house with a tv in the neighborhood every saturday.

    thanks for sharing this gem.

  • I have thought about this show for over 40 years. As a 10 yr old I was in love with Adam Troy. One of my sons is called Adam. Another friend named her son Troy and yet another named one son Adam and the other Troy! It is wonderful to stumble on this today - all the romance of the tropics - shocking acting though!!!! Thank you You Tube

  • Pendant longtemps je me suis souvenue des yeux verts du beau capitaine...sauf que le film était en noir et blanc!!

Bon, je suis convaincue qu'ils étaient verts au final!
