@LIVE2ROCK2011 No mate, no tube or hybrid (such as Vox Valvetronix or Marshall Valvestate or Peavey Transtube). These Hiwatt amps are pure solid state, and I have owned a G50R, which had amazing clean tone,,,just drive it with good dirt boxes...really quite nice to use!!
hi watt amps rule much better sound in the studio than marshall amps thats why page and townshend like them so much in the studio marshalls have a wider sound which is better for live acts but in the studio hiwatt amps kick ass man

Ive owned this amp model for 4 years now and I recommend it to anyone, I accidently dropped it down a london underground escalator when i was transporting it and it still sounded great.
What kind of drive was that wow. I was just checking this video because someone is selling this amp and it seems it would be a good choice for me. Thanks for the demo.
