3. acoustic foam is not soundproofing, its acoustic treatment

4. cardboard cup holders - egg boxes are next to useless and again are treatment only and offer no soundproofing

I watched a lot of videos on youtube before working on my own studio and checked around prices on the net for a few months. I got most of the products I needed and support from soundproofingwarehouse.c and asistorefront.c I know there are other companies out there similar to these guys as well that probably would work as well. Those two were just the best prices I fond. Hope this helps someone.

Same noob thing:

1- Soundproofing doesn't exist(unless there's a airless gap between the ealls, which is impossible). What exisits is sound ISOLATION.

2- You can't put bare fiberglass right in the wall. fiberglass "shoots" particles that can blind.

3- Eggcrate Foam, Thin Foam and any kind of acoustic foam only absobs high frequencies. So you might end up with a dead room that sounds boomy.

egg crate and cups give a TERRIBLE sound treatment and little to no sound proofing. the shape of them will kill some treble waves but really won't do jack for bass waves. arualex and similar products are made of high density foams that absorb certain frequencies. not all frequencies are dealt with in the same way.

I think you will find the "quality sound" comes from the room acoustics not the amount of foam stuck on your walls.. What you mean is with merely soundproofing you will get better isolation of outside noise, but certainly not a better sound..

bass traps

Auralex D36 foam and glue kit

sound proof door

for your top you just put in a false celing then ram it with expandable foam..and other bits in bobs of the trade..insulation is to keep heat in NOT SOUND!
