So why did O2 in Germany recently make HP/Palm release WebOS 2.0 for the Palm Pre Plus? Nice try, but this video has just as many lies and misleading statements as a typical HP/Palm press release. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if this video WAS their initial choice for the official press release.
owner of palm pre minus: this phone sucks dick, so laggy, horrible battery life, and i will ditch my pre as soon as my contract is up for an android phone :P
TMC? That's a webOS issue. The fact this video points it out is really an attack at HPalm, which I guess the author didn't realize. Despite update AFTER update, Palm has not even tried to address the TMC error.
Also, does pre3 come out on sprint?? The video is fallacious w/o that.
Why no WebOS 2?
Because Palm can't code efficiently --hence the poor battery life. As so many have said in comments, it's works, unoptimized, so imagine if they coded well..
@ahaukas obviously RAM or more CPU can solve any problem.
But if your code doesn't leak RAM then a lot of opportunities are possible. As we know, you can get TMC with ZERO cards open. I mean, nice try on the red herring of the fallacy that i need to know every single issue that the programmers are dealing with, but .. it's just a fallacy.
I repeat -- battery life. Inefficient coding. Straight from the mouth of Palm programmers.
Funny thing is most people want webOS 2 without realizing that atleast for the foreseeable future, webOS 1.4.5 is far better and more funtional than webOS 2.
Got my Pre overclocked safley and I never get the Too many cards error. It runs perfect all day long to be honest. Sure I want a new Palm 3 now but I dont want it half ass baked. I just want Sprint to carry it, Thats what will nake me mad!
@BlueMagicx OC'd and patched to high hell here too (Thank you preware and webOS Internals!). The only down side I can see for the Pre 3 right now is no 4G radio. That kinda sucks since there is now 4G in my area. For that reason I'm not sure I'll upgrade to that phone. There is supposed to be a new event from HP in March discussing their product strategy for the future. Perhaps they will spill the beans on a super phone. If that happens, I'll just wait.
This video is pointless, webOS 2.0 runs fine on Pre Pluses (not too different from the Pre2) and even the Pre-. Sure, the upgrade could be problematic, and likely would have required coding some tools to convert Palm accounts and import 1.4.5 data, but it is possible. HP is lying to us YET AGAIN, and if you really want to stick around and hope they keep their promises than good luck with that. It's not ridiculous to expect HP to keep it's promises, especially with all webOS fans have endured.
@mayo1024 because it isn't that big of a problem! But there are a bunch noobs who make it out to be and conplain about the simplest of things. Palm was realistic and knew it wasn't that big of a problem but now noobs are mad so they are making something to appease the noobs.
Hey just spoke to a Sprint Supervisor and he stated that due to the fractured business venture with Palm they are only focusing on Android. They will not be caring HP Phones for the forseeable future. They just let me out of my contract. Ordered my Pre 2 will be here on Wed according to Verizon.
@latex24 truth is they only decided not to carry the pre 2 you will feel robbed when they get the pre 3 in june or july and the iphone in september... they are focusing on android now this is true but thats what they are selling now
@latex24 If that bit about Sprint not carrying HP phones is true, that is problematic for my continued relationship with Sprint (even though I really like them as a provider). Verizon treats their customers like crap and charges them out the wazoo for EVERYTHING, this coming from an ex-verizon customer. The things I really like about Sprint are 1) great customer service (in my experience with it), 2) free mobile-to-mobile calling on ANY network, and 3) I can roam on Verizon's network for free.

@atallam TMC is a RAM issue, not an OS one
And clearly you're aware of every single issue that the programmers are dealing with right?..... No I dont really think so.

@sanjay0864 funny, there were several comments posted before your post from people, giving their testimony on how that's not true..
for me 1.4.5 w/o overclocking is not very functional. at least 2.x has hardware acceleration so launching apps isn't SUCH a painful experience.

@sanjay0864 If that was true then webOS 2 would probably run on the pager I bought in 1996.

I've had webOS 2.0.1 on my sprint pre plus for weeks. It works well.

If they knew this to be true why didn't they have a plan in place on Feb. 9th to announce to legacy owners?

Remember when flash was promised in the promotions for the Sprint Pre?

lol, There is a lot more to that. This is a basic dumbed down version of the problems devs have with HP. Funny though.

Leave me alone!!!!! How dare you accurately represent my whining! "I have seen the original Pre running WebOS 2 on YouTube, so I know it works." LOL.
I guess I should always take myself this seriously so I can show up on XtraNormal.
