Why would you do this to a car like the ZR-1? The ZR-1 is perfect in every way! I would understand if you would like to do this to a Civic but why a ZR-1?

@Nuze66 The viper is an awful example for one. Also the vipers make 600horse now, so get your facts straight. But also try pushing the same amount of power out of that ///M engine under boost. Those viper motors are giant, but they can push 1500horse on a single turbo all day everyday. Look at other cars to, like the Venom, makes 1200 horse out of a 6200ccm. The bugatti takes 8000ccm and 4 turbo's just to make 1000. So please dont try to sound smart and insult when you use bad facts.
That might be right with the Venom, but the Bugatti is build to last 10 or 20 years and since it is german it will. The Venom is like all the other american cars, just build for the moment. You can't compare any car to the Bugatti Veyron, because it is so special. And the Super Sport version would make absolute mincemeat of the Venom!
don't get me wrong, this is an amazingly good looking car, but the back is so much more iconic, memorable, and original than the front. the front isn't bad by any means, but it's just that...i guess...the back looks like a futuristic space ship, with jet turbo thrusters, and it has this crazy window, and crazy taillights and that huge gaping hole thing. and the front is like...idk its painfully generic, which "nice" headlights, and its just sort of shaped like a regular car.

Who's gonna pay £1.3 million for Corvette ZR1 with a fancy shell as thats all it is the ZR1 costs £109,000 and apart from the body they are the same car they may have reduced weight and given it more downforce but lets be honest this isnt a very pretty car id take the ZR1 over it anyday.
The people that are willing to pay that much for this vehicle are paying for the exclusivity of it. Yes, they could just as easily buy a ZR1, in fact several, but they can't be seen driving something a "commoner" would drive. The solution, make a butt ugly car and jack up the price.
As far as performance specs are concerned, a ZR1 is just as good if not better than a Ferrari 599 or a Lamborghini Gallardo.
The Mantide has an all new carbon fiber body and interior which would more than make up for the ZR1's main faults: material quality, styling, fit and finish.

The exterior designer, Jason Castriota, is a New York native and American citizen. The remainder of the car is an American-made Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.
The more I look at it the more I really like it. I didn't like the GT-R at first either but something about this I like. Maybe it reminds me of the Mach 5 or a car from Speed Racer.
I like the LED tail lights and the LED headlight eyebrows but i hate to say it... It's interesting but not something i want at home. Also to be honest it has a LARGE leap it has'd to make before it "sets the standered of what a new supercar really needs to resemble". Personally Horacio Pagani already did that but keep trying and I hope the best of luck none the less.

Perhaps, but this car has much more than just the ZR1 chassis.
Basically, it's all ZR1 except for the sheetmetal (well carbon fiber), interior (which is primarily carbon fiber, too), and wheels (which are also...carbon fiber)!
Bertone claims that they have reduced aerodynamic drag and the weight significantly over the ZR1.

The more I look at it the more I really like it. I didn't like the GT-R at first either but something about this I like. Maybe it reminds me of the Mach 5 or a car from Speed Racer.

I like the LED tail lights and the LED headlight eyebrows but i hate to say it... It's interesting but not something i want at home. Also to be honest it has a LARGE leap it has'd to make before it "sets the standered of what a new supercar really needs to resemble". Personally Horacio Pagani already did that but keep trying and I hope the best of luck none the less.

Perhaps, but this car has much more than just the ZR1 chassis.
Basically, it's all ZR1 except for the sheetmetal (well carbon fiber), interior (which is primarily carbon fiber, too), and wheels (which are also...carbon fiber)!
Bertone claims that they have reduced aerodynamic drag and the weight significantly over the ZR1.
I can't see how it could be a bad performer?

Changing the aerodynamic drag can seriously screw up handling. Not enough downforce to plant it at speed and it wont touch the ZR1's ring time.
