You discovered nothing, the bomb hover and super glide are well known and very oftenly used glitches in the Zelda games. As for the Chest, it's a technicality. By coming out that door you initiated a trigger that made the game think you were coming from the Iron Knuckle mini boss room. Still kind of a fun glitch, but nothing new.

When you first get there as adult link, you never messed with the past timeline regarding the chest with the shield, so until you tamper with the past as young link and open that chest, it will never look open ever in the future. That chest is stuck in a nasty paradox of opened or never opened.

I have trouble doing the hovers in OOT, I find it a million times easier to do it in MM. In OOt, you back flip too far and cant hover like in MM, where you backflip perfectly =) Nice though.
