I thought he wasn't convicted of anything in Keating five... just another example of every argument of yours being based on assumption. It seems you rely on assuming that mcCain is money hungry even when evidence points the other way. And you rely on dirty arguing with me, repeatedly taking shots at my intelligence when not once have i gone that route. Now who's grasping at straws?
What evidence? His blowing off his crippled wife for the rich hottie? His multiple ethical "errors?" His complete about-face from his own VIDEO TAPED statements of personal principle? You like him because he says the easy thing and because he's not black. He has an easily checked track record that puts the lie to everything you've said about him. If you choose not to look at it, that's your call. But it's there. I honestly don't care who you support. But spare me the "Captain America' crap.
That was great. I honestly never thought I'd see the day that it became acceptable to mock people for helping others. That fact alone scares the crap out of me.
I think McCain is a better leader than Obama. His Character, Integrity and Leadership saved his buddies in that POW camp. You showed a bunch of civil disobedients in your montage as if to say that anyone regardless of experience can lead the United states. I think the presidency isn't about trying to Change the world like MLK or Ghandi tried to. Its about leading our Country into prosperity dealing with Economic plans, National security and such. McCain is better suited as America is seeing.
That's a joke. There is NO "experience" that qualifies one for the job of president. Bush proves that. If you thought there was, you wouldn't be pro- Palin. You like her because she's cute and she pays lip service to the notion of a woman in the highest office without being challenging to McCain in even the slightest way. How 19th century of you.
Not even your Party gives a damn about McCain. He's betrayed everything he stood for (whatever that was) to get into pole position. You love Palin.
I love McCain because his loyalty is to his God and his Country not his Party! thats what a true leader is. McCain rejected getting out of POW camp before his brothers there. He was beaten badly every day. he cant even throw a baseball today. Thats integrity that you cant argue with. If you really think he's going to damage his integrity now so that he gets a few more votes you're gravely mistaken.
McCain USED to have integrity. I didn't agree with him most of the time but I respected him. His Party hated his guts. So he changed his guts to match. That is not the mark of integrity but of greed. He wants the White House & doesn't care WHO he is when he gets there. That's greed and it's the opposite of honor.
He survived an awful ordeal 40 years ago. So what? That says nothing about what he's done since or what he'll do next. Use your brain.
"So what"??? wow... you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Apparently POW camp isnt a big deal. And apparently people can be heroic at one point in their life and later just completely become evil and greedy... I dont get you man. With your logic, we have no idea what Obama will do once he takes office too! So theres absolutely no reason to examine candidates cuz they will do a 180 once they're in office... Makes sense! DOYEEEE!!!!!
POW experience is something to have a parade over or give medals for or write a history text about. Do you seriously believe that mere survival of horror qualifies people for high office because there are several thousand guys and gals in Iraq right now who could use the work when they get home.
Survival isn't heroic. It's survival. There's a teenager in Sudan right now going through worse than John McCain ever contemplated and surviving. Want to make her President?
See now you're just getting confused. My argument is that McCain's POW experience proves that he is a man of integrity and leadership. The other men inside those cells with him credit their lives to John McCain and his leadership and inspiration.
Sure they do. Money can make them disappear. Fame can make them disappear. Lust for power can make them disappear. Blowing off your injured wife in favor of the rich babe can do it too. Or they can just fade away.
John McCain from 10 years ago wouldn't recognize this current guy. It's not even close. There's video, dude. Compare.
WHERE is he leading you? That's the question. You are meant to be telling HIM what to do not following him blindly because he has "integrity."
yeah? money can make them disappear? Fame can make them disappear? How about when your life and mind and physical well being are in danger? Dont you think a man who would sacrifice his soul for money would have gone home early from POW camp when he had the chance? He had nothing to gain... No one would be mad at him. He would have been congratulated and commended for not giving any information away and surviving a horrible experience. Lust for money isnt nearly as strong as survival instinct.
You have a shallow understanding of human nature. Worse, you're grasping at straws for reasons to support McCain. In fact the majority of Rebs considered McCain a nut, taking pains to convince those who didn't think so of that during his last run. But NOW he's gold?
The current John McCain is a perfect about-face away from everything the original John McCain claimed to believe. A man with the rock solid principles you ascribe to McCain wouldn't be capable of that.
Oh trust me, you guys can do it. You also failed to mention that Barack stint as a "community organizer" was with ACORN. Umm, I don't think he really wants to discuss that association with the American people. That corrupt "non-profit" is what us conservatives were laughing at cause they make Rev. J. Wright look like a boy scout. Hope you enjoy another 4 years of Republicans in the White House, cause it's a coming! McCain/Palin 08
If you list the lies Ms Palin has told since we all met her, stack it next those being told by Mr. McCain on the "I'll say anything to get elected" Express, add on the useless death toll from the Iraq conflict, fomented by people "Maverick" McCain supported 90+% which has decreased world stability, add in the blows to the economy due to Bush's laissez-faire approach to regulation and your Party's ongoing attack on regular working folks and I think Obama/Biden can spank your team of scrubs.
I'm Pro-Palin because of her integrity too! the first day in office she got rid of the bullshit amenities that past governors have gotten. She indited other corrupted officials.
how would you know that i havent challenged McCain?? i used to favor Obama but as i learned more the more i liked McCain.
Also, Your claim that experience means nothing really hurts your political credibility.
"Integrity?" The first time she spoke to the nation she lied through her teeth for 30+ minutes.
The American presidents had a slew of prior activities none of which influenced in even slightly way how well the man did when he got the actual job. Not the way you mean. Do you think ANYTHING in Abraham Lincoln's life "prepared" him for the Civil War?
There is no training. Unless it is being the head of state of another democratic nation which, by definition, means you can't be President here.
How did she lie? I know you fancy yourself somewhat of an intellect, and a film maker, but just because you put a bunch of pictures of old, dead people doesn't make you an expert. No matter how much you tout the abilities of Obama, the truth of the matter remains that none of you have done your due diligence in coming to the realization that, yes, he really is just an empty suit. But with our luck, the stupidity of the american public will probably prevail and put this guy in.
Shut the fuck up and go ahead and blindly vote for your savior B. Hussein Obama. Yourre a fuckin Douche bag kkkool-aid drinker. Tommy, you're right..and the polls will continue to rise in McCain's favor, don't you worry--the cream always rises to the top, my friend. (Notice how this fool who made this video has accusation, but no facts, much like his candidate of choice.)
By November the Dems will have lost to a retard twice and once to a senile old man. The Reps have been handing over the election over for the last 2 years and the Dems won't be able to close the deal.
I don't think any of us knows who is going to win the election. Moreover, if Bush is a "retard" as you so ingraciously state, how did he manage to get an MBA from Harvard Business School. Harvard is generally thought to be a rather good school.
It is also incorrect to state that McCain is senile. Nor have the Dems "handed over" the Presidency. They fought rather hard to win it, in fact. What happened is that a sufficient number of Americans awarded that office to Mr. Bush.
Because anyone with a brain knows that Georgie got into and out of Harvard because of daddy's money. I've talked to hundreds who know that, many of whom are embarassed to be Ivy League at the "league's" credibility had decreased substantially because of Bush's being a graduate of one of their institutions.
I dont think you can just assume someone can garner the most prestigious degree in America solely based on his connections. And then add some shoddy credibility add-on to the end of your claim.... Cuz i know TWO-hundred people that know he earned every A he got at Harvard!
This is the tired and unsupportable attack from the left: any successful conservative must really be stupid. They said it of Reagan and Bush, and now they say it of Palin. Labeling somebody an idiot is usually the final admission of someone cannot pursue an argument based on fact and reason.
That's interesting. There are just about as many Hillary supporters as Obama supporters, if you go by vote tallies, something I realize you Democrats would rather not do. I suspect your disdain for them is more reason for them to vote for Obama. That, too, is encouraging.
As for Bush, I support him to this day. Courageous and wise.
These must be definitions of Wise and Courageous that are not in any dictionary but your own.
The best thing about this election is Bush the Lesser and his cronies are done. He is, without question, not only the dumbest President in history, but the worst.
Pathetic, in fact, and proof that "executive experience" is meaningless.
Is it so hard for you to simply say that you disagree? Why do you feel it is necessary to invoke a higher authority (in this case a dictionary)? It does not, in fact, advance your argument, it just evinces arrogance.
And it is not the election that will end Bush's term, it is the Constitution.
Either you don't know what wise and courageous mean or you are intentionally using them incorrectly. Mr. Bush is neither. Demonstrably and with clear tragic result. I'm fine with disagreement but, if this gets personal, I'm cutting you off.
Of course I know what wise and courageous mean. I am not a fool. We simply disagree. I am not stating that Bush's every act was wise, just that, on balance I believe him to be wise. You disagree. That does not mean that you do not understand my meaning, just that you disagree with it. You counter this with an attempt to denigrate my knowledgeability. That is personal. Why can't you just state your disagreement without denigrating me personally. Clearly, we don't agree on Bush. Leave it at that.
Name one thing he has done or said that qualifies as wise or courageous.
My page, my rules.
In fact Bush the Lesser has failed at every juncture where wisdom or courage was required and we have paid the price. If you mean to "believe" him to have these qualities, you are required, on this page, to cite examples. If you can't, you must admit you were either incorrect or lying.
Barack Obama is not in MLK's league when it comes to community organization. MLK moved a mountain. Obama made sure the swingsets had seats & that sandboxes were clean. It's a bad comparison.
Ghandi, as well, was just a bit more accomplished than Obama, but bear in mind that though he was charismatic, he may not have been the most effective executive.
Obama is charismatic, but probably would not be an effective executive. He voted "present" hundreds of times. Executives have to make decisions.
Well, in about five months, we'll find out exactly what sort of President he'll be.
The point here is twofold:
1) being a mayor is, frankly, considerably less impacting on the world, even in the short term, than organizing a community to force government action.
2) there's no such thing as "prior executive experience" when it comes to the job of President of the United States.
Mr. McCain made an error in tapping Ms. Palin. She is an albatross. Oh, yes. And a liar.
You imply that Obama will win the election. That may not happen. We shall see what we shall see. Bluster is not a winning argument.
Obama is a liar, too. C'mon. Palin's misstatements and Obama's are of equal inaccuracy and portent.
As for her being an albatross, she's brought McCain up in the polls where he is at parity with Obama and helped raise millions in one weekend. Some albatross.
Not bluster at all. And Obama's "lies" do not equal or even approach those in Ms. Palin's opening statement which is why her people won't let her talk to the press.
Albatross. You'll see. Her clay feet extend up to her navel. Republicans may love her but you are a minority in this country. Not enough to elect without Independent assistance.
It is bluster to suggest that you know the outcome of the election and that it will result in an Obama victory. We will see.
A minority? More people watched the GOP convention than the Dem convention. More people watched McCain than watched Obama and nearly as many watched Sarah -- way more than tuned in for Biden. And McC is rising in the polls. These facts would tend to contradict the notion that Sarah is a liability.
I watched the Reb Con. Lots of Dems did. So what? Lots of folks watched to see who the hell this Palin person was. Also, so what? She energizes your base. So what? Your base is out of touch and, as I said, too small to elect anybody.
Even with the post-con bounce, McCain is still behind and, the more we learn about Ms. Palin, the less attractive she becomes to anyone who is not a hardcore, hyper-conservative (and apparently blind) Reb.
She was a mistake. Enjoy the shine now. It's fading.
That's it. Ignore the trend. Ignore the Hillary supporters now rabidly pro-Sarah (I have tried to provide URL as proof, but YouTube prevents it). Your complacency is encouraging.
Who needs 'em? Any Democrat who would vote McCain/Palin because there's a woman on the ticket is an IDIOT and likely not much of a Democrat to begin with.
Far from complacency, I exist in a state of ready anticipation. Something good is coming and it's not four more years of Bush the Lesser or any of his proxies.
You are right. There are many examples of great people who accomplished great things, not by holding office, but by leading great movements. And consider the Boston Tea Party - nothing but a bunch of "no responsibility" community organizers at work!
This is all I have to say:
