Looks like the suzuki world endurance team, so not an inexperience rider i would have thought. They appear to be practicing pit drills, judging by the way the spare wheels and fuel rig are set up just slotted in a new set of unscrubbed slicks and a touch too much throttle and over she goes. looks cold too, and a few damp patches just before he bins it could have been enough for the tyre to say enough!

The reason why this happened is because its a set of brand new tires on the bike and the ground might be a bit damp and its really cold. You see the people around is wearing thick cloths.

So, it sums up to bad luck.

It's mostly the fact that it's a wax layer on the tires to preserve them from the factory.
