i remember getting my first guitar and looking up the chords to yesterday so happy to finally get to play it cause i had dreamed of playing it on guitar but then i saw them and cried. of course through determination i got it and my playing skills doubled so i really love that song
So the most covered and classic Beatles song came to Paul in a dream. Not to mention Let it Be. And their band name. These guys were literally formed by God.
@stevehauk I think that's rubbish. They each had talent, and they worked together like pieces of the same puzzle. Not many bands today had equal talent and didn't rely on songwriters or the lead of the band to do the work. No, the Beatles' music had profound impact on music and history - they often created and started new styles and techniques in music.
I think that "Yesterday" being the most covered song of all-time makes sense, because it's a more than welcome from the songs that the Beatles came out with prior to this one. This may be the first time we see how amazing the songwriting is in The Beatles!
Wow!! Amazing , this guy was on top the highest mountain of fame success and he truly wasn't happy. And we as fans think the Beatles was living a heaven on earth kind of life.
IN the 1960's in England, there was a very popular TV show called "Opportunity Knocks" where amateurs were given a chance to display their talents. The participants were introduced with "For (name) of (hometown), opportunity knocks!" George was parodying that when he introduced Paul singing "Yesterday"
@arbutus27 In an interview a few years ago, Eleanor said that John, Paul and George all came on to her during the filming. She said she was so young and naieve in those days, she thought they were just being friendly! So nothing happened, but it is one of her favorite memories.
Paul your the best.. I'm from Argentina you know, and I'm so mad that I cannot saw the concert of Paul ...... Hope you can be in argentina again if your going to argentina again im going to watch you!!!!!!!!!!!! Same With Ringo!
Fatness suits him in that case o_o It didn't suit Elvis though...And Paul,,,When he was singing Yesterday..Such charisma. And when he talked,he still had that charisma! I mean,it shows he loves to perform
I love Yesterday. Didn't MTV or Rolling Stone name it as the greatest song of all time? I remember seeing something like a countdown of the greatest songs of all time and Yesterday was tops. Or maybe I'm just imagining it.
@normandale1987 Rolling stone labeled "Like a Rolling Stone" by Bob Dylan the greatest song on the "500 greatest songs of all time". Yesterday was 13 on that list.
"Scrambled eggs, oh how I like your nice long legs" I think that's how it used to go before he wrote the lyrics to "Yesterday" xD Little did he know that he was making the song that has been covered the most EVER! Pauls is win <3
dunno why john lennon thought of himself as fat in this period . he just looks normal to me . far healthier than the thin person he became in the 70s .
@googajoob7 That's very true. John Lennon looked ill and pale in the late 1970s. I think it was a male form of anorexia that John was experiencing at the time. Yoko put him on a 'macro-biotic diet' which did nothing for his weight. If anything he was drastically underweight.
The lyrics "these days are gone" should have been "those days are gone." The narrator was lamenting how he didn't need people as much in the past. It would have sounded better that way instead. I don't know if the mistake was intentional. There are other similiar "mistakes" in other Beatle songs (such as in Day Tripper and Ticket to Ride).
i do get a bit taken aback wen you hear john talk bout the meaning of the song help and actually think of the lyrics he singing his heart out w/... e/o just said oh great song and now it seems like a cry in retrospect
awh, i love how george introduces paul... and then john comes back with flowers, lmao. AND, "thank you ringo, that was wonderful". ahahah, how can you NOT love the beatles?
its a little funny how they stand.... paul and george are standing together with these stick legs sooo skinny.... then jon is completly seprate and sort of squatting with huge compared to georges.... cute though!!!!!!!
i love Paul's wink at the very beginning.... and when he describes coming up with the name Help and goes "No hold on that's wrong" I start cracking up. And when he sings Yesterday I just love it lol. I love Paul. I thought it was so funny when Lennon forgot the words during Help!.. and bringing the flowers out.

They mainly got lucky with the times. They're not more talented than other good bands. Fame is dead today.
