  • @MrJerry1014 it's only about $100,00 more.... still sounds bad. lol Gallardo handles a lot better plus it's AWD so it would completely dominate from a dig. But for the price tag, yeah the Z06 does an impressive job keeping up from a roll.

  • @MrJerry1014 whats so funny about it ? typical boyish approach

  • @MrJerry1014 that is why the corvette is the best value supercar

  • @MrJerry1014 come on now it doesnt cost that much more u know that.....the gallardo spyder is the cheapest gallardo at that.....not to mention the year of that one...u can tell its an old gallardo.....an 06' i think.....brand new they run like $200,000....only makin it about $130,000 more than the newest z06....not even sure of the year on that one in the vid

  • @MrJerry1014 there is a lot of things that the lambo has that the vette doesnt one is looks and the other is controlability

  • @MrJerry1014 Not only keep up with it, but beat it.

  • @MrJerry1014 its not really the price that matters! half of the car your paying is for speed the other half is the quality and of course for the brand lamborghini!!

  • @MrJerry1014 because american muscle owns :)

  • @Metallocity my words exactly

  • @MrJerry1014 Not only does it keep up with it, it's faster. And not the even the fastest Vette made today.

  • how about the corvette zr1? ahhh now who wins ;)

  • $200,000+ worth of cars..... $49 camera phone to record???

  • @TriFlow Hey, it could've been $149 before the two year contract?

  • @TriFlow no big deal

  • @TriFlow reword that. a $49 camera phone caught $200,000 worth of cars. Kickass phone, buddy.

  • the gallardo just looks so much cooler

  • @xHeRoHx its REALLY expensive to look that cool when you lose a race

  • @xHeRoHx Not really the z06 is a really sharp looking car!

  • @camirocz +1, and it costs less

  • @xHeRoHx Just cause you're used to the Vette. The Vette looks pretty mean. If you saw Lambos every day it'd get old too.

  • @xHeRoHx It looks like a wedge of cheese lol.

  • You know, they were going to make an American Top Gear with Tanner Foust and Jay Leno but people didn't like the idea. Hmmm one of the best drivers in the world and a smart guy to boot and a funny guy who knows a lot about cars. Leno, although a TV entertainer, is a huge gearhead and knows more about cars than most. Then there's Top Gear. The only saving grace is how funny it is and the power laps with the Stig. They even managed to throw common sense out the window and mess the laps up somehow.

  • Pff.. Jay Leno turned them down.

Also the network decided that the TopGear humor "just wouldnt be understood" in USA. Bullshit. The real reason is networks are afraid that people will talk shi... I mean be honest about american cars live on TV. This will, as they say, "discurrage advertisers" which means if they talk shit about chrysler, they are afraid to lose millions of chrysler advertisement dollars for the network. Faschism at its finest. Anyway Discovery channel want to make TopGear now.

  • @Janusha

LOL!!! The destruction that occurs on Top Gear would be very popular with the redneck (majority) population in this country. Do you think they could avoid the non-criticism bullshit on Discovery and make a real show? Maybe PBS too. I think that is like our BBC.

  • No other network dares to touch it for the above mentioned reason. The big 3 has the US-media in their pockets now as ever. Discovery will brand it alongside West Coast Harleys and Mythbusters and that kind of semi-factual comedy suff so that they avoid the whole "fact" issue. Its hillarious. Ive seen a TopGear episode where they cut out the part where they talked about america and it came with a warning sticker "this may not represent the pictured cars actual performance" USA at its finest.

  • @Janusha propoganda

  • You fools that's a C6 + that lambo is a rented car in kuwait :S

  • i dont get why people hate on "americans" for making a car that will now beat anything you put it up against (zr1) i dont understand that? why dont yall just say goob job? and leave it at that you cant sit here and say that the corvette is shit when its not and you know its not.

  • haha yeah... grats USA on having 1 decent car. The same one going on 3 years now. Which is just a tweaked up Z06. Its just a car. Not the second coming of christ. What it lacks in styling, quality and refinement, it compensates for with a huge engine. Just because its the best in USA doesnt mean its the best in the world.. Not by a long shot. Perhaps people are a bit tired of hearing about the god damn ZEE ARR ONE every single time Europe produces a supercar. Which is litterally every month.

  • @Janusha yall are sick about hearing about the zr1 bc yall have absolutely no answer for it. so you just bullshit around the fact that the car is a straight up beast, and go on a criticize its lack on interior etc. etc. etc. what you FAIL to realize is that americans dont give a fuuuuck about interior as long and its got some power. plus we dont want to have to spend 300k for a "super car" of yalls standards.

  • Sure its a beast.. but thats what it is. Weve heard for years now how it will smoke, kill, rape, blow, any other car out there. As if there really was a war for supremacy in the car world. There are around 50-60 top end supercars available and perhaps 2 are american. When it was finally tested by Topgear it ended up 19th on their leaderbord. Thats not best in the world is it. oooh but its cheaper... well sorry but Europeans dont build their supercars by american standards.

  • Look at the Noble M600 forexample. Its got a 600 hp Volvo engine. Its built on low budget. Like the Corvette it doesnt have carbon fibre parts, it doesnt have much electronics and it has similar hp. It ended up third on TopGears leaderboard. Far ahead of the ZR1. Then there is the much cheaper Nissan GTR which beats the Corvette at nearly everything even tho it has 4 seats a big boot and half the engine size. There are LOADS of other viable options but you dont see them because you are american.

  • @Janusha your gonna base your comparisons off of top gear? dont you think they would be biased bc they are from europe? lol... you gotta understand.. when americans buy a muscle car thats just it they want the big ass engine and the car could be completely naked after that, we dont car as long as it has power... if i wanted a car with a nice interior i would have bought something else simple as that.

  • What other program uses the same lap with the same driver to compare their cars.. Nobody. So Topgear remains the most credible source of information for exactly that kinda stuff.

I know what a muscle car is. Look at the new Challenger. Its a redressed Chrysler 300C which again is a recycled old 1996 Mercedes. Tart it up and fit that "big ass engine" for americans to get all patriotic over, sprinkle patriotism all over it and job done. If it was a movie it would be straight to video.

  • @Janusha lol dude top gear is very biased and we both know that it is.. so to base something soley off of it is just dumb... challenger in no way looks like a 300c... im no a big dodge/chrysler sports car fan anyways. but if your going to measure how "badass" a sports car is interior/exterior should in no way influence the outcome. which it does on top gear.

  • The 300C is the same car as the Challenger. They changed its looks and fitted the "big ass" engine. Im saying that sort of cheapass way to build cars wont pass in Europe. We have lots of car shows in every country. Not only TopGear. Magazines too. We HAVE to build quality here or they will rip it apart in their reviews. -And thats good. Thats the only way to have progress. There is no tradition for criticism in USA. Which has allowed the big 3 to get away with lowering standards for decades.

  • @Janusha the challenger has like a .4l bigger engine then the 300c... and your still not understanding what im saying dude... people in the US dont give a shit about interior/exterior when they are buying a muscle car... no1 buys the corvette for the interior lol thats just ignorant if they wanted a car with nice interior they would buy foreign.

  • I know.. USA has no tradition for quality cars. While you can see the market for Rolexes, designer shoes and villas by the sea, americans dont understand the market for quality cars because they arent in it.

Still today in light of recent failures USA still thinks cater-for-all vehicles for the masses is the way. Why so proud to occupy the cheapass end of the market anyway. Where is the pride in your craftsmanship. You got 2 cars on mars damnit. There is no reason to fail at cars on this planet

  • @Janusha

Top gear blew the ZR1 test by running it damp. Last time I checked their site, nothing was listed as damp other than the LFA. Kind of funny since they have run many wet laps on that show. They have cheated the LFA, ZR1, the R8 v10, and countless other cars by not running them dry and they couldn't even be bothered to say so on the site. Talk about unprofessional. Then you and others actually come on here and claim that these tests are still worth something. Sad.

  • Hey.. its England.. It rains.

  • @Janusha

Well sure it does but there is this little thing called patience. There's also something called doing something the right way rather than rushing through it.

  • All cars are given the same fair treatment. Their leaderboard is NOT the bible and is not ment to be a buyers guide all on its own. Which is why they comment on it and tell you facts aswell. By the way.. the way this holy ZEE AAR ONE has been hyped, americans would never settle with anything less than nr1 anyway. All the cars above it on the list are absolutley better cars so 19th isnt BEST IN THE WOOORLD but its still good. There is no anti american conspiracy here to discredit their cars.

  • @Janusha

Better cars? Well that depends on what you are talking about. Better materials maybe. Some may be better looking. Not all of them will last as long but they certainly have more prestige. The point is that list is supposed to tell you how they do at running a track, not at everything. This is not about just the ZR1 mind you. I wanted to see how the NSX-R and the LFA compare against the GT-R but they messed those up. Both R8's ran wet, so did the KZ1 and many, many others.

    Top Gear = FAIL

  • Also, if you are interesed. I would predict the ZR1 be somewhere in between 1:19.0 and 1:19.5 if they ever actually ran it properly. Obviously it is impossible to guess for sure but it is just based off of its times on other tracks compared to other cars that have been run on Top Gear. I know though that they will never re-run it or any of the other wet cars. They are just too busy slapping a wing on a CCX that already had a fair shot and running it again.

  • Still spamming the old bullshit I see.. Why dont you go raise a flag in your own backyard and stop waving it in everybodys faces. Its really really annoying. If you had ONE single good point here Id love to debunk your bullshit. But your crap is just too far fetched. The ZEE AAR ONE would if it could but couldnt so it didnt. End of story.

  • I seem to have hit a nerve though. Oh goodie!

    Top Gear:

None of those morons have a clue what they are talking about. It is all opinion, usually not based on fact. Clarkson throws around the word "engineering" as if it is his profession but the reality is that all three of them are television entertainers with little to no technical knowledge and maybe a weekend of driving classes each. That show is entertainment and nothing more. Anyone who tries to pass it off as anything else is a fool.

  • Admitting the Corvette isnt the best in the world is like admitting the sky is blue. What an achievement. Clarkson has driven every single sportscar ever made. And still dumb fucking americans think he isnt qualified to recognise the blindingly obvious fact that USA has alot of catching up to do before they present something that can be compared to the real thing. Americans have no tradition for criticising cars. Because that would be unconstitutional. Blind patriotism is ugly to look at dude.

  • @Janusha

My problem with Clarkson is that although he makes a good point now and then, he very frequently has no idea what he is talking about. He once claimed that a Porsche was oversteering because of the added rear weight of the engine. It is a well known fact that adding weight in the rear causes understeer. He flexed the back of the ZR1 and called it cheap. Totally irrelevant to build quality. They cut material to cut weight and bumpers are not meant to be rigid to begin with.

  • Oh my god... You are right. Ill never be able to watch Top Gear again. Pfff.. the plastic rear bumper story again. I know thats a source of insecurity for americans. because we all know... when you are in the market for supercars the first thing you want to do is make damn sure you havent bought plastic. Im sure its all very clever but Seriously at car shows you see the rear of Corvettes is full of finger prints. EVERYBODY has to go over and poke it to see if its true that it really is plastic.

  • @Janusha

Just for the record, I think Top Gear is hilarious and I watch it all the time. Part of what makes that show so popular is probably the crazy shit that they do and say and the fact that it isn't strictly scientific. I love that they bring in a skilled professional driver for their car tests rather than relying on scrubs like so many magazines do. I just wish they would talk to an engineer every now and then too, ya know?

  • @Janusha actually the rear bunmper is made from someting else i watched a show about it on t.v and even if the bumper was from plastic thats the only thing w the 3zr package u get a interior w leather everything

  • My opinion of Clarkson is that there is plenty of reason to criticize American (and other) cars but he tends to dig up aspects of the vehicles that don't matter. It seems to be because he just dislikes them and rather than because he is trying to educate himself and others.

I certainly agree with you about criticism. I think that is what the American car industry needs. I just wish it was from someone a little more knowledgeable and less contradicting than Jeremy Clarkson.

  • @Janusha yopu can drive a goddamn rocket ship for all i care it doesent make you knowledgeable about it or its build quality all he can legitimate talk about is there numbers and americans have nothing to compare? dude the viper acr was faster round the ring than a fucken enzo amerians are beating them at there own game use to all we cared about was drag racing then everyone was bitching about turning and shit so we built cars that handle well to

  • The Enzo is 10 years old now. Some dude brought his enzo to the ring. That doesnt compare to when Viper makes a special Ring version (the ACR is infact a racecar unless you didnt notice) showing up with a FULL RACE CREW with the track to themselves. The Ring is NOT an international benchmark you apocalyptic spambot. Just like when the Veyron did a 7:40 around the Ring. It was just some dude that showed up with his Bugatti and did a few laps. That doesnt make the Veyron oficcially a 7:40 car.

  • LAMBO IS FASTER

  • As far as Top Gear, they are more entertainment than anything. They change their opinion on the same car all the time or bring up things that they don't understand. Clarkson thinks that adding weight in the middle or back makes the car more oversteer when it actually makes it more understeer. I could go on. Those guys are funny but they offer a very biased opinion. I would look to something more along the lines of Autocar, who actually know what they are doing.

  • That is why I like Consumer Reports. They use data from a bunch of people who own each car and test a few of their own to get a good picture of reliability. They will post results reguardless of brand or nation. They will say that a Jetta is a piece of shit but a Golf is one of the best cars on the road. They will slam trash like the cobalt, cavalier, etc. while giving several Buicks good marks. They will rave about Toyotas but criticize the Lexus GX460 because of the accelerator.

  • I dare say it is making a simple car with a pushrod engine, a front engine layout, and an outdated suspension handle and accelerate with the best cars in the world while still maintaining fuel economy, reliability, and low price.

Lotus makes vehicles capable of keeping up with cars that have twice the power. They cut weight as low as possible while still keeping parts structural and functional.

VW is making a diesel roadster that gets over 40mpg, yet outperforms an MX5.

    This is engineering.

  • Small companies may produce a fast car by using expensive and lightweight materials and add nice handcrafted stuff but that is not good engineering. Engineering is innovation and excellence. It is building a Veyron capable of switching the wheels that drive it to achieve both a fast launch and reach over 250 mph or a GT-R that can change its tire pressure in a corner to maximize grip. It is building a 911 with the reliability of a Civic and world beating performance.

  • I don't think build quality or innovation is a concern either. Europe has an array of great features in cars but you can't forget about things like the magnetic suspension in the new caddys or the award winning performance engines out of GM and Ford (one of which your Koenigsegg's builders copied in their original design but have since changed). The first car with a heads up display was American. I could go on. For one country against all of Europe, I think our cars have a good enough showing.

  • ... and yes I do think the only thing separating American and European cars is a nice interior and a price tag. Can't forget about reputation and legacy though. There is some of that with a few American cars but much more from Europe.

I don't think reliability is much different. You have cars like Porsches and the Golf that do great but then you have things like Lambos and Mercs that get horrible ratings. Same with American cars. You have your crapaliers but also your Buicks.

  • I looked back a few pages and couldn't find my old comment. I will mention that a gold shift knob is an idiotic idea for a car trying to save weight and lots of carbon fiber and titanium are used in American cars as cheap as a ZR1. I believe the entire body of the S7 is carbon fiber.

You see more supercars in Europe because each country wants to have their own. I think they do the refinement/class thing a little better than us as well but when it comes to performance, there is no difference.

  • The knob in question is the size of a coin. I think youll find that it doesnt really change the car much other than give it another nice little touch. Because the people that actually buy these things want to make damn sure they get their moneys worth. And want to make damn sure it stands out as opposed to other more mass produced vehicles. If you dont know what you are tlaking about.. you can ask instead of stating "facts" and look silly.

  • @Janusha

I tried to post this earlier but youtube was gay. One knob may not matter much but every bit of added weight matters a bit. What happens when they start adding "nice touches' all over?

A lotus comes to mind, where they have worked cut weight down to the smallest detail. I know some people like the nice stuff but working for performance perfection is much more impressive to me. This means skipping out on that flashy shit but still bringing in expensive stuff like Ti and c. fiber.

  • Comment removed

  • Again totally different markets.

What do you get when you add small touches all over ? You get a Spyker. They are probably the highest quality pieces of engineering you can get. On second place probably Pagani Zonda. Then Bugatti and Koenigsegg.

  • @Janusha

In terms of engineering, those small companies do not measure up. You will find a larger and much more capable workforce out of a company like VW, Honda, GM, Ford, Toyota, BMW, etc. than a smaller outfit like Koenigsegg or Pagani. These companies have a PhD for damn near every part of the car and could build something on par with a CCR or Zonda if they ever had a reason to. The problem is, they usually don't. Look no farther than CLK-GTR and Veyron out of Mercedes and VW.

  • So GM could build quality if they had a reason to.. How about to save themselves from total across the board bankruptcy? Problem is exactly that GM cant produce quality to save their lives. They DIED remember. You americans need to get over the financial crisis, greedy dealerships, unions and all that. If GM made good cars, they wouldnt have died. End of story. NO european brand died- ALL american brands died. Surely if you take your patriotism goggles off for 10 seconds you can agree with that.

  • Comment removed

  • Ford is or have been under bankruptcy protection just like the other 2. Chrysler was given away to Fiat for free and GM went under good old fashioned "reorganisation" which is basically bankrupt. Ford managed to secure a bit of profit by sacking tens of thousands of loss making staff but inspite of their profit, owe tens of billions in loans and pension funds. Mostly Ford did better because European Ford was doing just fine.

  • Im not saying american companies will always make crap cars but I will say that if they hadnt been faced with total extinsion they would have continued to serve up the same old leafsprung cast iron monstrosities as they always have for decade after decade. Only now when Obama forces them to think new or close shop forever, do they reluctantly think of perhaps changing. There is no way that they will get back their lost market however. Americans have got a taste for imports. And they like them.

  • @Janusha

When was Ford under bankruptcy protection? What is your media telling you over there?

  • @CorvetteRacingFan

Why else would they have to submit their business plan to congress and explain their profit target, research in electric transport and so on. You see when a company starts paying off debts with their own stocks.. Thats not a sign of good health. Congress dont get involved in businesses unless they have invested interest. We appreciate the valid concerns raised by Congress about the future viability of the industry, Try reading up on stuff if you really want to know.

  • @Janusha

You didn't answer my question. Please cite a source stating that Ford filed for bankruptcy protection. I don't care what they discussed with congress. If they didn't file for bankruptcy protection, they were never under it and your statement was wrong. This isn't open to interpretation. It is yes or no.

  • I answer what I want. Its not my job to educate you. Ford didnt file for bankruptcy because they didnt go bankrupt did they. They were under protection like the other 2. At what point is this hard to understand ? Why are you so desperate for me to be wrong and for all american cars to shine a sainted light up to car heaven. I didnt break the american car companies. Im not making this shit up. It actually really happened and congress has paid 100 billion dollars to try and fix it. Not my fault.

  • Comment removed

  • Unless rescued, they would have died along with the other 2. Why is it so important for you if Ford didnt die ? in general terms the entire american car industry died. They were all forced to fire hundreds of thousands of people costing the govermnent 100 billions just in aid money and another huge load in trying to deal with all the hundreds of thousands of jobless workers whos only qualification was to fit fenders on trucks. I dont see why people leap forth flag in the air to defend this crap

  • @Janusha

I don't disagree with that statement entirely. I just suspect that you and I have a different opinion about how those companies got to this point. I think that their idiot management cut too many corners trying to save production costs. Also, GM union workers were demanding way too much pay for unskilled labor. Throw in a bad economy and you get problems. I don't think it was an inability to make a good car. Just management fucking things up like they do everywhere.

  • I realise that the american pride runs deep with its car industry but really.. to defend the big 3 is like defending a bunch of white collar capitalist criminals that have more or less willingly let their businesses run aground on a biblical scale of mismanagement and arrogance.

I only came online a year or so ago to read about why this happened. But all I saw were flag waving agressive americans defending their cars to death and it was ME that hated america for asking all these questions.

  • My opinion on how this all happened is that there is no culture for criticising cars in USA. Reviewers simply deliver the numbers and show you the picture. There are no in-depth facts or proper criticism. TV-Networks and magazines are afraid to lose their advertisement millions. Media is in the pockets of the big 3. This has allowed american car builders to lower standards and raise their own personal profit for decades. All "new" cars have been based on yester-years model offering nothing new.

  • Whereas in Europe you simply cannot pass a sub-standard car and expect to sell. Car critics will rip it apart in their reviews - and thats good. Its the only way to have progress. Its why were used to building quality in Europe and its why american cars dont sell here. But when TopGear or whoever turn that same criticism towards american cars, were instantly attacked by flag waving patriots, fist in the air shouting THEY HATE AMERICA !!. Its naive and freakshow weird at the same time.

  • @Janusha

I agree with a lot of what you said there. They were run by morons and criminals. Hopefully not anymore but there is a good chance that they still are. As far as our media: They are hopeless. They don't do anything right so not holding the car makers accountable is to be expected. Have you heard of Consumer Reports magazine? They give very few American cars a good rating but they rave about many Japanese and some European. They rate all sorts of stuff and are very fair.

  • I'm from Norway, and I can say that the US produces some very fine and solid cars, BUT, they arent rly made to be used outside the US. Taxes in other countries would kill the person buying for example a corvette cause of their massive engines (7.0l etc..) and non-environmently exhausts. I'd buy a mustang over a bmw/merc, but they cost twice as much here as any other premium german car (audi, merc, BMW) because of taxes ^^

  • america has freedom

    suck me now.

  • hatha c6 mo ZO6 l2na el zo6 fe 6amra mn el ajnaab

  • euro and american cars are both badass. japanies cars just suck though.

  • apparently shjesus you have not seen the linfenfelter superchartged vette that hit 260 mph street legal at that and they believe it could hit 300. that same vette hits 60 in 1.98 seconds and does the standing mile in 20.13 seconds beating the unlimate aero also, but both aare american so it shows we rule.I did see that sledgehammer one also, and that is insane for that to be done 21 years ago. that beat every other car back then by 50mph. Only one or maybe 2 cars in 1988 could approach 200mph

  • Boring

  • dude,, dont confuse tuneshops and racecars with the real thing.

  • Beside "Boring" the song is shitty!! Plus it's a C6.. rofl

  • I couldn't get past that gay music. WTF is up with that? I think Eddie Murphy's "Party All the Time" even sounds better than this shit.

  • euro cars all the way, jus look at the bugatti veryon

  • listen i happen to love both cars, both are amazing cars....but for the price the zr1 is without a doubt the best car on the road.

  • man ill look sexy in the corvette but

ill look like a pimp in that lambo =]

  • Yeah so the lambo is pricier who gives a shit a convertible black ZR1 would be just fine & i'll still have lots of $ left over to whatever else i want to break necks with it. Corvette sounds like thunder lambo sounds like a plane. Corvette all the way!!

  • who cares how much faster either car is by .1 of a second, the matter of the fact is how sexy the lambo looks and sounds.. its a true bull

  • haha true. A plastic GM versus an Italian proper racer.. no contest. Doesnt matter who is faster in a straight line.

  • dude a EVO 8 AWD (STOCK) could whip that lambo

  • yeah but which one would you look cooler pulling up to school in?

  • Evo 8 stock beat LAMBO??? Try it and see what happens.

  • im pretty sure this guy is refering to Top Gear where they showed that an evo 8 FQ-400 could keep up with a Murcielago on a track, the lambo ended up losing control before it could shake the evo, but to be fair the evo's actual lap time was a full second slower than the Murcielago, meaning the increase power would win out

  • Lambos were never made for racing. They are just as much about looking cool and exclusive and awesome infront of a restaurant.

  • فخار و شرف sheikhqatar . com

  • Lambo is much more impressive, sounds much more better and it has 211 mph top speed. And its faster on a track. Z06 can only win on a short track race. You get what you payed for

  • Corvette ZR1 is almost $100,000 less than the Lambo and would beat it on a track.

  • lol the vette kills lambo in every thing exept for the start but besides the the turns and tops speed kills the lambo

  • ZR1 is a performance car not a exotic, whatever that means

  • not an exotic.. meaning not rare to see or hard to find. Mainly because its spewed out on a conveyor belt where it spends 8 minutes (yep 8 minutes) being welded together by robots. While the Lambos are hand made in St Agatha Bolognese Italy.. Been there to see them make it. People talking about "killing the lambo" pfff who cares if the american cast iron pushrod plastic box with leafsprings is quicker in a straight line. The Lambo is class all the way.

  • Yeah, right!.. sure you've been there at the Lambo factory in Italy!...in your dreams, dude!...if the Lambo is class all the way, like you say, how come they can't build them to go faster than Corvettes??...and that's even with a 10 cylinder engine, versus the Vette's 8 cylinder!...I don't understand it!...for that kind of money, the Lambos should be the faster cars, but they're not!!...they're basically a rich man's piece of shit!!...a waste of money, in my honest opinion.

  • Thats where americans get it wrong. There is an 80 year old jewelcrafter down the road from the Koenigsegg factory making the pure gold top of the gear knob. Each one by hand. If you buy a Pagani Zonda you get tailored shoes from the same dude that makes shoes for the Pope in Rome. Whereas american performance cars are plastic and aluminium where europeans use kevlar, titanium and carbon. You get what you pay for. And when it comes to speed. Sportscars have been doing the same speeds since 1956.

  • Look, Janusha...let me teach you something...for your information, the ZR1's body is made almost entirely of carbon fiber, with a few pieces made out of fiberglass, not plastic like you claim, which is a big difference. It also uses aluminum extensively, whenever possible, to save weight, and the entire exhaust system is made entirely out of titanium. so there you have it!...want to learn more??...also, you're comparing cars that cost $450k to up to $1.5 Million, versus $130K..aren't you unfair?

  • I know and clearly I put it a bit on the edge to make a point. But most corvettes use a plastic body that you can push in with 1 finger. Carbon fibre is restricted to the rear wing and the roof so they can claim its a carbon fibre car. whereas the entire Koenigsegg is carbon fibre from the body to the indicator handle. Sure its more expensive but are they having trouble selling them ? Americans and others are lining up to pay millions of dollars for these things. Why cant USA make their own.

  • Secondly.. who compares the 130k Corvette to the expensive european exotics? Americans do. They stand there going "supercar killing performance" "Ferrari beater" "Lambo Performance at half the price" Just because the ZR1 with its enormous engine is quick in a drag race and probably other things aswell people arent going to spend their time doing 200-250 mph. What counts just as much is the sense of exclusitivity, quality and heritage that a proper supercar offers. And sadly USA got none of them.

  • The USA got none of them??...is that right??...really??...for your info, have you ever heard of the Saleen S7, the Ford GT, or the SSC Ultimate Aero??...which happens to be the world's fastest street-legal production car, my friend??...and they got supercar prices, too!!...well, there you have it. I taught you something today!

  • mmm Lets see Saleen is bankrupt. Ford GT was cut short 500 cars because Ford couldnt make money off it. SSC is a silly purpose made speed project inorder to "beat" the Veyron. Hardly qualifies. They made like 20-30 cars and only a couple of them had the full power. The rest were 500 hp. So yeah. USA got none of them. Go on.. teach me something.

  • Hey remember me asshole???? Go fuck yourself you prick fuck. European cars are overpriced pieces of shit. America produces the fsatest production cars and best lap cars while Europe builds shit with the worse electrical problems known. Your an asshole who should shut the fuck and not talk until spoken to.

  • hahaha thats rich. Its not my fault that your country dont make good enough cars to maintain a car culture lame arse.

  • What the fuck are you talking about, car culture? You obviously don't know shit about America, faggot!!

  • Well ok.. wrong word. Car business instead. What I ment is.. there isnt a car company in USA that didnt go bankrupt. You can blame the unions, greedy dealerships and the financial crisis all you like but if americans built proper cars, they would still have had their car business.
