Please check out the pulser pump on utube. This uses low grade hydro power cheaply (currently low grade hydropower is unused due to cheap hydrocarbons). The pulser pump has no moving parts to break either so could be used in really poor countrys with no technological backup or no money. It is just pipes joined together and is an airlift pump combined with a trompe.
