looks nice but they've missed a major thing, a side panel lock, really recommended at a LAN Party, not nice to come back after going to the toilet to find out your PC has been chop shopped
I want this case! I only have one question.. the case is supposed to house high end full length graphic cards. nvt seeing where the slots are and where the PSU will be i think my gfx will never fit this case.. can somebody pls comfirm?
The card is a 4870 with a Vapor-X cooking system wich makes the crd 1-2 wider due to copper tubes.
I think I'd actually prefer buying it with this fans, rather than the quieter once, since i hav a fan speed controller anyway, and with those, I would've got the extra performance when I need it, for example when gaming, for I won't hear then then anyway
Seems like a pretty good case. Am I seeing a trend of NZXT producing good cases, far from good looking yet crappy dust collectors, such as the Guardian 921?
Not a bad case. Although I see a couple of additional objections. I think the power supply should be at the top to avoid having heat make its trip upwards through the top. Also with this many openings it looks like it can dust up pretty quickly.
The case is quite nice but it clearly lacks some stuff. You can not put in a second 2x120mm radiator. If you have a thick radiator at the top it get's pretty crowded at the topmost 5.25" slot. When installing a waterpump you probably have to remove the lower 3.5" HDD brackets. This wil leave you with 3x5.25" slots. So no fan/pump control in case you have optical drive+2xHDD. I would prefer the HAF 932 for watercooled systems which costs the same and has more places for radiators.
The motherboard and graphics card both have heat syncs and fans on them, usually enough to keep them cool for general use, along with ANY air flow through the case, and both are fine. What I worry about cooling when setting up is hard drives and other devices that DO NOT have their own fans and devices to keep them cool.
Google did a study on HDD fail rates and temperature recently and found that cooler HDDs failed more often than hotter ones. Heatsinks and their little fans are an essential part of cooling but all they can really do is supply heat to the immediate air around them. To have effective cooling you need to constantly replace that air with cooler air. Normal convection currents are not particularly good at that.
I agree 32db is little too much for 190mm fan, and I also do not like the top part that doesnt have exhaust fan being without the filter. It can get a bit dusty inside. Still wouldnt mind having this case and it seems very good for modding.
I understand that but there is a part of the top of the case that is just a mesh and thats enough for dust to get in. I know that inTake needs dust filter, come on give me some credit lol.
i wish my power/reset buttons were up farther on my case (coolermaster centurion 534) since my computer is on the floor, i've hit the power button a few times accidentally with my knee lol
Love that big fan, but 45 dB is way too much. Even in the retail version 32 dB is a bit much, but maybe supplying it with 7 Volt instead of 12 should get the noise down while still maintaining a decent airflow.
Such a nice case, yet its Achilles' heel heal is that is has absolutely no dust filters. Dust management is an important issue in cases where there is a lot of airflow, this case will have an infestation of dust bunnies, within weeks. Dust is a major contributor to hardware failure and lifespan. What were they thinking?
nice case too bad about the powersupply mounting .. but i don't think that the case is really made for modders ^^ more for people who want a clean nice good aired case :)
LinuxGalore - seriously man can you not do some simple maths or just google it they have a google converter if you google search it right and not like the retard you sound like
i was raised using inches and feet. i know were different but i enjoy knowing both. the only thing i would need to get used to is measuring speed and temperature
Not bad those huge fans seem to push a LOT of air too...usually they are very slow and quiet. And I don't mind noise 3 yate loon 88cfm full speed 40 ish db each from what they say.
another thing that psu mount could be good for is possibly if the vent lines up with the psu use the 120mm fan you may have in your psu facing that vent. Again if the vent is in the correct spot to allow that.
the psu mounting is so that the fan faces outward, thats why they deliberately placed that meshing there. idk if anyone noticed that but that was off my head so i could be wrong

are you looking at it from cooling the Graphics card or the MOBO
