very interesting practicing with the girth, ive made progress with my young horse picking his feet up with the rope looped around the pasterns. works nicely with no drama it really boosted our confidence

Lucky you, you could throw ANYTHING at my horse and he will just stand there and look at it. He ain't scared of nothing, so for me its hard to train because he won't go!

Probably not a good idea to scare your horse into going anyway. I don't know much, but it would make more sense to try pressure and release by annoying him in the back end till he takes a step forward then stop and reward.
