  • Travesty of the year: Laura Dern's absence from the best actress roster.

  • the first half of Atonement was extremily good. and i mean very good. then after James McCavoy gets arrested. the movie sort of goes downward where it only recovers near the end with that amazing performance by the old Brione. though, by that time, it sort of don't mean anything..

Atonement wasnt nearly in the top 10 films of the year... but it's Oscar bait and it gets some awards... the Reader anyone?

  • thx for sharing

  • I agree with you on Casey Affleck, but Ellen Page? I mean, really?! That "performance" didn't take alot because she is VERY similar to Juno in real life.... I don't even get why she was nominated but whatever :/

  • Michael Clayton was way overlooked. Not a big Clooney fan in the past but have to say when he goes against the grain he delivers (ala Syriana). No Country and there will be Blood are great films though. if you have not seen Michael Clayton go and find it and watch ASAP

  • George Clooney was good , but no match for Daniel Day Lewis in There Will Be Blood

  • You are right, Daniel Day Lewis always delivers, I just though Clooney and Michael Clayton should have gotten more pub. that's all. Good post my friend.

  • There will be blood and No country for old men were two of the best movies I have ever seen. Both great films.

  • Casey Affleck uber snubbed!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome.

  • GO JAVIER YOU SEXY THING

  • CONGRATULATIONS JAVIER!!!!!!

  • NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN!!!

  • I thought Hal Holbrook gave a great performance in, "Into The Wild". Michael Clayton was the best movie

  • I agree with everything. Casey Affleck in Assassination for best actor in supporting role and There will be blood for best picture! I pray for an upset!

  • Blanchett and Day-Lewis really give the best performances of last year or even this decade.

  • Dead on, spot on who should win and who would win. Great show Michael, great work on Ebert and Roeper and the one episode on Filmspotting
