  • its sad seeing all these religious fanatics reap in the benefit of science everyday to further fuel and to spread their ignorance. Never once pausing to think about where they obtain their benefits; vaccines, cars, aeroplanes, television, internet. These priviledges were gained through the hardwork and effort in science, understanding based on factual evidence and proof.

  • It is obvious that Dawkins"s brain did not evolve properly...

  • why are we here: is easy- because we were bithed, and with that comes growth, proceded by the eventual expiration.

what ya do with the inbetween is why YOU are here.

its subjective and objective in answer, which is why the answer has not an easy defining point, other than, the arbitrary process.

  • If there is an absolute beginning, that everything was created by a higher and powerful being.

    Who created human? God.

    Who created God? Super God?

Who created Super God? Super duper God?

Why is it when asked, who created God, the answer is 'He just exist'. Why can't that be the answer to who created humans. 'We just exist'.

  • He sounds like Thane from Mass Effect 2 in this video. Awesome.

  • Silly monkeys asking silly questions.

  • Richard Dawkins has the most patience of any man I've ever seen. Damn, how does he tolerate it?

  • Haha the geological processes that give RISE to mountains HAR HAR HAR HAR

  • jealousy's colour is green.

  • @TheKlink

gee...I always thought it was yellow..is there any particular reason why it isn't?

  • *not unreasonable....

  • If there is a god i think that its "seen" in the world. Soley from the numbers of people smart dumb and everything in between, theres been religion for as long as homo sapiens have walked upright. Spirituality has scientifically proven health benefits. Everything evolves not just people, its unreasonable to think that god put it all in motion. Dawkins stays away from the where did we come from question n focuses on the evolution thing which is the easier answer bc of course evolution is real.

  • You don't think science requires faith?? Einstein did.. Science is based on experiments that are arise from a hypothesis..sometimes those hypotheses are supported, alot of times they are not supported, and every time new questions arise. Science makes leaps all the time...Atheism is faith in science, and that one day all the questions will be answered, and that will be the day religion is non existent. (without religion, wouldn't Atheists get bored?) Science can never prove or disprove God.

  • @buttholemonster The fact that science cannot directly prove or disprove that god exists is the ultimate proof that god does not exist. The only god that can logically exist is a god with no effect on the world, in other words a god with no mass, thought, purpose, or energy. This is exactly the same as nothing.

  • @TheMajorpickle01 Explain that first sentence a little bit. (Because science cannot disprove god, that disproves god?? And I agree with your second argument..."God doesn't play dice with the universe"

  • @buttholemonster Ok maybe that sentance isnt worded the best. Basically, im saying that since god cannot be proven to exist, or not proven to not exist, he can only exist as something that doesnt effect us. this implies he is nothing, therefor non existant. so, the ultimate proof that he doesn't exist is that you can't provide evidence that he does or doesn't exist :L

  • everything has a function or you could call it a purpose as the world needs certain things running in presice balance that is the purpose of things so we have things ,like non living earthly things that keep the eco systems running so life can live ,some may argue that the planet is life ,,but is it divine ?idk .got to give it to dawkins though he is like a lawyer with his answers as people will twist his words if hes not clear and almost exact, very good caommand of speach

  • His answers are all opinions. We are here therefore there is a purpose. I don't see how there can be something "just because". Why is it in the human mind that there is a purpose anyways? Everything is for a reason. Even scientists believe that. You ask a scientist "Why do we have sex?". They wouldn't say "There is no reason." They would say for the purpose of reproduction.

  • Dawkin's will not be in Hell 2 seconds and he will change his mind!

  • Scientists ask dumb questions all the time, as there are unknown unknowns....Not all science is rational...Why do some people strongly believe, while it seems so obvious to people like Dawkins not to?

  • @buttholemonster hell isn't real

  • @sweetlolitacookies whats your definition of hell?

  • @buttholemonster I don't have one because it's nonexistent...

  • @buttholemonster I don't have one because it's nonexistent...

  • @sweetlolitacookies Im gna guess that you dont believe in the Biblical definition of hell, but what you just said doesnt make sense to me. I dont think unicorns exist but i define them as mythical horses with a horn thing..u probly define hell as a mythical place in the religious context, a place to u that cannot exist. Others believe just as firmly as you dont that hell does exist, and they live accordingly. In that sense it is a real place. If thats your definition, i agree with it...

  • @buttholemonster I still don't don't see what point you're trying to make

  • @buttholemonster I still don't don't see what point you're trying to make

  • @sweetlolitacookies this isnt an argument. I am not going to press my beliefs on you, you are clearly firm in what you believe regarding hell (and I would assume the same goes for your stance towards a creator), but in the end everyone will have their own beliefs and it doesnt make sense to argue like you "know". the questions of life fall into the distinct realms of science and religion, each is limited and will always be limited. atheism is a faith, just like any other religion. F.A.I.T.H.

  • @buttholemonster Atheism is not a religion and it's not a faith. Just like not collecting stamps isn't a hobby and naked isn't an outfit. And It's not a faith either. according to that logic, statements like "the Earth has a firey core" would be considered a statement of faith. Do we know for 100% that the Earth has a firey core? no. But it's not faith we rely on, it's ACTUAL EVIDENCE. Lastly, I didn't even mean to send the "hell isn't real" message to you I clicked the wrong username haha :)

  • the answer to why people are religious is in the end haha nice!

  • wtf is the color of jealousy... jealousy color is yellow... yellow as a pus that needs attention but left alone, or it will become a scar...

  • (((("AIR")))) is clear, YOU CAN'T "SEE" IT. It is INVISIBLE. Don't you think "OTHER" things ARE invisible in this world? Just think for a minute. You can walk right through air and its invisible. Can't "OTHER" things, both spiritual or physical, also have THIS attribute? Scary isn't it? The fool in his heart says "There is no God". If humans have no purpose...then...that means...Dawkins has a purpose? To let us know our questions are silly? AND your "Flying Teapot" act is shamefully ridiculous.

  • @kall707 The difference between air and "OTHER" things, as you call them, is that air can be proven to exist. It can't be seen with the naked eye, but it clearly exists, and can be perceived with our other senses and scientific instruments. There isn't a shred of evidence or any logical reason to believe that a god, souls, or any other "OTHER" things exist.

  • @kall707 I agree, air is clearly invisible to our sense of sight. However, it can be measured by scientific methods and we can even analyse it's chemical composition. We can also feel it's movement through our sense of touch. Air can be proved to exist.

Whereas, other than through blind unreasoned and unverifiable faith, there is no evidence for any god other than in the bible which, itself, isn't even historically accurate, let alone all the man made stories, myths and legends inside it.

  • @kall707 Air can be measured by many different means, It can also be felt. You fucking idiot

  • @ScottishCaledonian Who.........fucking asked you?

  • @kall707 You compared the concept of god with air which is utterly preposterous. We know air exists because it can be measured, it can be felt and we know its exact atomic composition. We can watch it react with other elements in a lab. This is a public domain and I will comment and correct stupidity and ignorance how i see fit.

  • I never understood such abstract questions of 'why this' or 'why that'. 'Why' indicates that there is a purpose or a reason, but these things only exist within the confines of the human experience. It is us that gives things a purpose or a meaning. We made these terms, these ideas, up. They aren't real. There is no such thing as meaning or reason.

  • Let me answer the question "why are we here" once and for all The question "why are we here" can only be said by the person that is looking for meaning of existence OR the person who believes in god. Rational person wouldn't ask that question because we know HOW we are here, and if you believe in evolution you already know the answer, and the answer is "there is no reason for our existence"

  • @lifemetall

The best answer imo would be "because we can be".

But yea, agree with what you said.

  • @lifemetall I find it very comforting that there is no purpose for our existence. I can live very well without a celestial dictator. Means we're free to make up our own purpose.

  • 1:43 oh that's simple, it's green :) clearly Richard Dawkins has never met a synesthete xD

  • what a cunt

  • Well the point is, we do ask why, and whether we don't fully know the answer, it doesn't mean things can't point to God, for instance as Dawkins said it would be silly to ask what's the purpose of mountains. But he's only saying this because He believes life can only be measured by what immediately surrounds us, that doesn't mean surroundings don't define a major part of our understanding, but if Gods a real being it does matter.

  • your still missing a big WHY?

one day there was no universe and then there was,a creator does makes sense and there is loads of design and informtion and structure and laws that an outside force must have occured,if not natural then maybe a super-natural.We have the same problem with an absoloute begining and why,you will say who made the creator but then your still left with did the universe create itself and then you wonder were all the information came from. There has to be a logical reason.

  • @pinball281 So, God created a universe where 99.9999% of all places are inhabitable, waited 10 billion years to create a sun and a planet and then a further 4 billion years of painstakingly constructing us from amino acids and although we had been around for 100000 years now only chose to reveal himself in a patch of desert in one of the most backwards areas during the iron age to a bunch of semi-illiterate goat herders?

    Yeah, makes perfect sense.

  • @pinball281 Who says one day there was no universe. The universe simply exists, it isn't bound by time like our limited minds. We only learn to see everything as having a beginning and an end, because thats how we see everything in our short little lives, but that doesn't mean that that's reality. As mind-boggeling as it is, we are simply but a blip on the eternity that is the universe, no beginning, no end.

  • @pinball281 But that reason doesn't have to be a creator. don't pretend to know things because you read them in a storybook, and no, I'm not trying to offend you, but until there is evidence of a creator, we must assume that it does not exist. We need a deeper understanding of the universe before we determine answers, and unlike believers, atheists do not pretend to know. That is what permits people like Dawkins to argue so efficiently against religion.

  • Why are we here?

Because a comet or meteorite crashed into the earth and wiped out the dinosaurs leaving a vacancy that our small rodent like ancesters could exploit and through evolution, eventually evolve into us.

We are not here for any purpose other than the fact that we are here. If the comet hadn't hit the earth, maybe dinosaurs could have survived and evolved into an intelligent life form and they would be asking "Why are we here?"

  • Does anyone else think that was the weakest answer Dawkins has ever given....? Surprised by it.

  • @ocblenheimpl only someone whose ego is such that he believes that humans were placed on this earth for some special reason instead of being here merely as the result of an natural evolutionary process could think that Dawkin's answer was weak.

Evolution has no purpose. It just is.

  • @Darwinsman Interesting point. Does that mean, hypothetically, for some reason if a person decides to eradicate all life on earth with, say nuclear warfare, you would not object?

  • @LeSage013 Of course I would object, but what the hell has that got to do with evolution? That is the ultimate strawman.

  • @Darwinsman I would not say its a strawman. I am simply extrapolating the argument into a bigger macro-cosmic picture. If evolution has no purpose, then life on earth is simply a redundant infestation, including human civilization. Why would you care whether it exists or not? Do you have any stake in it?

  • Comment removed

  • @LeSage013 Just because you cannot see a reason for life existing, without putting humans in a special position decreed by some supernatural being, doesn't make it true.

I am saying that we are simply the results of a process which has no directing hand. We exist because of particular circumstances having occurred which favoured our evolution. If circumstances had been different, i.e. the "dinosaur" comet missed the Earth, the top species today could well have been a descendent of a dinosaur.

  • @ocblenheimpl what would u have said?

  • If you assert the why as a creator, you have an imaginary answer. But, if you let go of the why, you focus on the how.

  • @Trinitysx There is such thing as reality. The sky is blue. Grass is green. We might perceive it in different ways, but those are truths.

Yesterday my dog walked into his own shit and I spent 45minutes cleaning it off. What reason or point does that have?

Just because you don't believe we were put here for a reason, does not make you a nihilist. And nihilist may find existence meaningless, but that doesn't mean they want to kill themselves.

  • There is no meaning to life. We weren't put here for a purpose. But that doesn't mean we can't give our lives meaning or purposes. That doesn't mean we can't appreciate our friends, our family and everything that surrounds us. That doesn't mean we can enjoy our short time on this earth. Maybe existing doesn't have a purpose, but what we do with out lives makes it so.

  • How in anyway is asking what is the purpose of life a"silly question"

  • @Trinitysx BNecause maybe life doesn't have a purpose. Maybe we're just here for no reason.

  • @themaaan1990 coward.

  • @Trinitysx I'm a coward?

  • @Trinitysx So let me get this right. I'm a coward because I accept reality for what it really is instead of forcing myself to believe in a religion because I'm too afraid to accept there is no afterlife. Yeah sure mate, whatever you say, I'm the coward.

  • @themaaan1990 no such thing as reality my friend just a delusion that you call truth,

fact no one knows what comes after death.

You're just as extremist as religious people that want to force feed people with your ideals.

And btw everything has a reason and a point.

Unless your a nihilist which if you truly were u should have killed yourself already

  • @Trinitysx Actually I don't force feed my beliefs down other peoples throats. Also, not everything has a reason, the universe acts in random ways my friend and why should I kill myself if I can live and enjoy life while I have it even if I don't think there is an afterlife as I don't see any evidence there is.And do you know what? I am afraid of dying but if that makes me a coward then everybody on this planet is a coward. It's the most basic instinct of any animal to survive. It's normal

  • @themaaan1990 some people just prefer fairy tales.

  • @themaaan1990 how can you be so... deep in denial

  • Maybe this is another question "not worth asking". "Why should ANYONE want to waste their precious time, listening to such shallow, trite, tired pap as the sorts of "answers" that DORKins provides here? I forget - when slitting my wrists, is it WITH the veins, or AGAINST them? Either option would be preferable.

  • This is typical Dawkins. Asked a deep and meaningful question "What is the meaning of life, and can science answer such a question?", Dawkins responds with "What is the colour of jealousy?" and "Some questions aren't worth asking". It doesn't answer the question he was asked. At least Medawar was honest and stated that science can't answer such a question. Medawar is an intellectual. Dawkins is intellectual "Lite". I'm sure his many gormless sycophants lap this up, but not me.

  • @mja11111 Its not a deep and meaningful question, simply there isn't why should there be a meaning? Dawkins question sets the perfect example, why should there be a color for jealousy? Why should life have a meaning? Its a baseless assumption you are making

  • the notion of dumb questions are over-used too much in our everyday life. In high school I always asked my science teacher why is the Moon round healways replied what a stupid quenstion. After all these years Iv'e probably been held back by him in a way so I plan to research some questions which I don't know. A person can either no something or not there should be no hesitation in the matter by putting it off calling it a silly question or a 'dumb' question.

  • @anonymousjg Yes there are, what is the color of envy (why must there be a color?) is an unanswerable question, just as what is the meaning of life, there isn't, why must there be a meaning? Anyways, your teacher was stupid, I suppose you already know why the moon is round, but if you really wanted to know in high school you only needed a bit of research, that is what science is, finding answers to questions, there are just some questions that have no answer

  • religious people can have Giant cock smash em in the face but still will believe a god did it.

  • Comment removed

  • Alright, professor Dawkins is wrong when saying that the "What is the color of jealousy?" question is a silly question. In fact, the color of jealousy is green... There is an answer to it...

  • @mewboy5 lol, it's the same for me too!

  • Not meaningful? That's not what the dude asked, he asked can science provide the answer. By saying it was silly just shows he cannot give it an answer.

"what is the color of jealousy" Is a logical fallacy that it is why it CANNOT be answered. It deserves an answer, of course there are symbolic colours, green for envy and so on, but it cannot be logically answered.

  • @paulthehanna The meaning of life is something science can't answer.. or Why are we here if you want to phrase it like that.

its basically the same question as what is the colour of jealousy.. there is no answer to it

i always like to use this one:

"science is a systematic 'enterprise' that 'builds and organizes' knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the world/nature/physics/chemistry"

is the meaning of life testable? nope therefore no scientific answer

  • "It is a silly question. It does not deserve an answer"

No question is a silly question and every question deserves an answer.

  • @01maak have you ever crapped your pants while doing a handstand and let it go in to your eyes and nose?

not a silly question? it deserves no answer...

  • Questioning whether you, individually, are hallucinating the Hebrew champion's voice, or any other invisible hero is a great idea.

But am I hallucinating YOU? How ever does one know?

My hallucinations might be bigger than your hallucinations. So far, the Hebrew hallucination has been going gangbusters. I touch his name every single time I touch American cash. The cityscape in every American city.

Chances are about even that I'm hallucinating you and you are hallucinating me.

    lol

  • The question was, "why are we here?". Not, "why are mountains here"? This is the typical anti-intellectualism that atheists ultimately has to resort to.

Nothing to be learned here. Just a disciple of the religion of materialism being dogmatic about his beliefs in a morally bankrupt ideology that science disproves over and over again. Anthony Flew realized it. He said it was advances in science's understanding of the internal and inter-related complexities of biology that convinced him.

  • @Search4Truth The question assumes that there's a purpose. He was pointing out that he can explain the process of why life is here...but that's not what people are asking. They're asking for some Grand Scheme where there is none. Likewise, he can explain the process of how mountains are here, but as far as a Grand Scheme to the mountains? A "purpose" to life or mountains? Why should there be a purpose? Because you want one? And THAT'S the kind of anti-intellectualism atheists have to listen to.

  • @MagicActor1987 Good one bro

  • @MagicActor1987 I freakin loved your answer

  • @Search4Truth

Dawkin's point is that we ARE the same as mountains, asking "why are we here" is just as nonsensical as asking "why are mountains here?" or "why are mosquitos, maple trees and marmosets here?". It makes no sense unless you make the unsupported assumption that we are here for a purpose. Dawkin's clearly believes that we are not and that there is no reason at all to believe that we are despite what a semi senile Flew may or may not have believed at the end of his life.

  • stupidest answer of all time. sorry dawkins

  • the guy leading the discussion made it clear. when you want to find the answer to a silly question you turn to religion.

  • in simple you can answer this everything happens for no reason and it is all random........ which nothing has a value...... if we could eat pork why cant we eat human meat? after all this is all random which brings all the rules in humanities are also just an hallucinations..... which brings to the truth we are in simple ways no different from animals, which we could do everything we want............... survival of the fittest, thats the rule of nature and should never be debated about

  • @jinsuwi1 Something being random doesn't mean it has no value. Value is relative. What you find valuable, I may not. Morality is entirely relative. Societies have different laws for that exact reason.

But you're still missing the point--you're claiming that we say it's all random, meaning that it "just happened." No, when we say random, we're talking about probabilities, in the same way that a certain sperm finding a certain egg is random...does the resulting life have no value?

  • @MagicActor1987 dawkins said we "are animals" by that i could consider this........ a lion kills another lion and eats it, thats no sin right? me or you as an animal are also territorial, if you could get a chance to kill me for a meal that is no sin.... because its all part of nature "survival of the fittest per say". societies have different laws for that exact reason? and if im a pure atheist i would not follow them.... because its my freedom to do so rules made by men for me then becomes 00

  • @jinsuwi1 "a lion kills another lion and eats it, thats no sin right?" -- Sin is a word based in religion, so is it a "sin"? No.

But you're warping things BIG TIME. First, I should note that atheism has nothing to do with one's morals. All it says is that someone doesn't believe in God. That said, a large number of atheists are also humanists, which means we focus on the value of humanity. We ARE animals, and like animals, we have societal laws to follow. If we don't, we face consequences.

  • @MagicActor1987 inmates? well let us see.... if we are all atheist of course there's no one who will go to prison..... cause we are animals and we only do things for our satisfaction and it is not anymore a crime. And ok let us say atheist doesnt believe in God and also with his teachings, like "homosexuality is a sin" atheist said other wise, God also with his teachings "thou shall not kill" im an athiest i will also said other wise i will not follow the teachings of God

  • @MagicActor1987 inmates? well let us see.... if we are all atheist of course there's no one who will go to prison..... cause we are animals and we only do things for our satisfaction and it is not anymore a crime. And ok let us say atheist doesnt believe in God and also with his teachings, like "homosexuality is a sin" atheist said other wise, God also with his teachings "thou shall not kill" im an athiest i will also said other wise i will not follow the teachings of God, i will kill as i want.

  • @jinsuwi1 I'm trying to hold a legitimate conversation with you and all you do is say stupid shit. No, our being animals IN NO WAY means we shouldn't care about what we do. To claim that is asinine. And not believing in a god IN NO WAY says anything about "his" supposed teachings. Some are good, some are horrifying...but the ones that are good aren't good because God says so.

  • @MagicActor1987 answer this immediately.... you hate GOD? GOD is evil? the good that GOD says arent good?

  • @jinsuwi1 "you hate GOD?"

How can I hate something that doesn't exist?

    "GOD is evil?"

As described in the Bible? Yes.

"the good that GOD says arent good?"

Some are, some aren't. Of course, God doesn't seem to stick to the "good" very well, does he? That whole "don't kill" thing...until he orders people to kill entire nations because they didn't believe in him. Or to stone homosexuals. Or to kill disobedient children. And, oddly, this is NOT the punishment for rape (that's marriage).

  • @MagicActor1987 you dont believe in GOD... but you just described him.... and he is such a big deal to you being an atheist.... tsk tsk tsk or you really dont hate GOD.... but you hate those who think about GOD..... does it piss you so much? what are you going to do about it? does sports champions and martial arts champions who prays before they fight piss you of? what are you going to do about it? if it piss you off what are you going to do about it?

  • @jinsuwi1 "but you just described him" -- I can describe Lord Voldemort, too.

"he is such a big deal to you being an atheist." -- Actually, it's the opposite. "God" means nothing to me in the same way that leprechauns mean nothing to me.

"but you hate those who think about GOD" -- Nope. I hate those that use their religion to hurt society.

  • @MagicActor1987 well ok then your saying you hate only those that use their religion to hurt society..... then dude be specific........ if GOD doesnt exist why bother saying bad about him? if he dont exist he cant harm you.... be specific who you are trying to bully with your words, or are you too afraid to say their names cause they are the only ones you hate..... dont put everybody in general....... are too afraid to put their names here?

  • @jinsuwi1 "if GOD doesnt exist why bother saying bad about him?" -- So people can see what they're claiming to believe and show them how those beliefs are harming society and are highly illogical (and hopefully don't pass such ridiculous notions to future generations).

"be specific who you are trying to bully" -- I'm not bullying anyone. It's been my experience that I start off cordial then the religious get rudely defensive. Also, "believe what I say or be tortured forever" ISN'T bullying?

  • @MagicActor1987 actually yeah i know your not bullying me..... if you are asking about some go write their name down here not the general people... you actually said some who uses their religion...... but you dont actually hate everybody so be specific or are you too afraid......

  • @jinsuwi1 You're acting as if it's one or two people that try to hurt society with their religion. I can't name all thousands of people hurting society. How about the Religious Right? They're trying to hurt people in the name of Jeezussz. If you vote for laws without legitimate secular reasons, you're one of the people I hate.

  • @MagicActor1987 ahahahaha now you are being subjective..... i never hurt anyones feeling.... actually im a good kid.... who are you to judge me? ey? who are you to judge me? are you the greatest person in the world who could just judge people? you hate me? so what do something about it...... because out of religion or anyways, hate you or not hate you,,,, i will just beat you up........

  • @jinsuwi1 "actually im a good kid" -- You know, no matter how good I am, most Christians think I deserve to burn for eternity because I think differently from them.

"you hate me?" -- Do you vote for laws without having legitimate secular reasons for doing so? Then yes, I hate you.

"i will just beat you up" -- How Christian of you.

  • @MagicActor1987 i will beat you not for the reason im a christian.... because christian or atheist.... its just me i will beat you up ahahahahahaha..... the question is what are you going to do about it when you hate me so much ahahahahaha.....

  • @jinsuwi1 "the question is what are you going to do about it when you hate me so much"

Why must I do something? As much as I hate you, you have every right to make stupid decisions. The only thing I can hope to do is educate you, but you can't educate the unwilling.

"its just me i will beat you up" isn't very compatible with "actually im a good kid"...well, outside of the Bible, anyway. Bullying is highly praised in that so-called "Good Book."

  • @MagicActor1987 there you go again with the bible.... all the people i beat up in MMA and those who beat me up became my closest friends and we are goodboys....... educate me????? bwahahahahaha it seems like your overassuming ahahahahaha....... you hate me that much dont you? yeah its ok kid just keep it there.... hihihihi it doesnt mean a thing to me anyhow.... hhihi

  • @jinsuwi1 Yup, you're just trolling. No one's THAT's stupid.

  • @jinsuwi1 "educate me?" -- Yup. You seem to lack basic reasoning skills.

  • @MagicActor1987 and you are the greatest teacher of all time? yeah sure ahahahahahaha

  • @jinsuwi1 "and you are the greatest teacher of all time? yeah sure" -- Never said I was. Won't stop me from TRYING to educate the ignorant and impaired. Give it up, kid, you refuse to even try thinking. You're a disgrace to the human species.

  • @MagicActor1987 no dude actually you wont burn in hell.... i assure you of that..... then for beating you up? its not because i hate you or i am a christian.... i just wanna do it

  • @jinsuwi1 "i just wanna do it" -- I know. Which isn't very Christian of you. Are you having comprehension issues?

And I know I won't burn in hell, because it doesn't exist.

  • @MagicActor1987 hate is bad.... bwahahahahahahahaha atheist one love hihihihihi

  • @jinsuwi1

I think your "H" and "A" keys are broken.

    Might wanna check it out.

  • @MagicActor1987 your the one who write about the christian here first.... to me dude i dont give a damn if your an atheist or racist or an alien.... you just watch your mouth...

  • @jinsuwi1 Your concept of "survival of the fittest" is misapplied, as well. It's not on an individual basis (i.e. not one lion being better than another lion), but on a large group (a group of fast lions being able to out-survive a group of slow lions because the fast lions are more able to get food).

People have GOT to stop thinking "atheism" means anything more than "lack of belief in a god." Prison statistics, by the way, show a positive correlation between religiosity and inmate percentage.

  • @MagicActor1987 ahahaha group of lions? well i say this a young male lion kills the pride's dominant males to conquer another pride...... thats how it works.... its an individual basis.... animals dont have societal laws to follow. they eat their young for sometimes, they eat their kinds...... and thats no sin..... and we are animals no different then we have no sin... or ok i wont call it a sin i will call it errors.... actually no.... there's so such thing anymore cause we are animals....

  • @jinsuwi1 As far as prison, statistics show that Christians are in prison in approx. the same percentage as they are in society, while atheists in prison are 1/60 of the percentage in society. Atheists are less likely to break the law.

Dude, the lion thing: you're MISUNDERSTANDING the concept of "survival of the fittest." It DOES NOT refer to an individual vs. an individual. It's about traits that survive within a population that allow better adaptation to the environment. Get a clue.

  • @MagicActor1987 yes your right if we are atheist we wont go to prison cause we dont follow the good things GOD says cause its BAD.... ahahahaha......

  • @jinsuwi1 I can't tell if you're trolling or just mentally challenged.

  • @jinsuwi1 "they eat their young for sometimes, they eat their kinds"

    So do some humans. So?

And again, what the hell does being an animal have ANYTHING to do with morality? There's no such thing as sin. That doesn't mean there's no such things as "bad." The concepts of "bad" and "good" are determined by society. There are cannibalistic tribes around the world. To them, eating other people isn't something bad, it's a form of punishment to the person eaten.

  • In evolution in particular, there is a difference between "why" and "how come," the proximate and the ultimate. Neither requires superstition to answer those questions.

Tolerance of superstition is not a virtue.

  • ACTUALLY DAWKINS IS STUPID THE REASON FOR MOUNTAINS ARE USED AS PEGS =LESS EARTHQUAKES IN THAT REGION

QURAN 78:7 AND THE MOUNTAINS AS STAKES

    FOUND RECENTLY nature.com/nature/journal/v26/n653/abs/026007f0.html

  • @scorpion32 Wow, congratulations, you found something in a book. Here, let me try that:

    "Lord Voldemort is merciful."

WOW! It's right there on page 659 of Deathly Hallows! I should bow down and start worshipping Voldemort, huh? He's such a great guy; he said so himself!

  • @MagicActor1987

have u got a scientific journal to back that up fool

have u even heard of a journal?? retard

  • @scorpion32 You're too lazy to use proper grammar, you cite a book of fairy tales as a source, you don't know anything about who I am or what my background is, yet you call ME a retard.

I'm guessing you've never questioned your religion, yet proclaim it to be true. You've already displayed your intellectual dishonesty by making a broad claim then backing out. My examples show that that's not the PURPOSE of mountains (otherwise your claim would be universally true), so it invalidates your claim.

  • @scorpion32 Japan is 70% mountainous. They also get 1000 earthquakes a year.

Florida, which is mostly flat, may get a few minor tremors from time to time, nothing major, and very far between.

  • @MagicActor1987

I didnt want to get into an indepth discussion but along comes people like you

fair enough you want to know why japan get 1000 earthquakes a year?

ok firstly there is a specific type of mountains that abosb shockwaves from earthquakes such as deep rooted ones in yemen

unfortunately japans mountains are not deep rooted in the earth they are high altitude therefore they wont be able to absorb shockwaves as much read the journal please

  • @scorpion32 First of all, that link led to "page not found."

Secondly, you called Dawkins stupid based on your assertion that the mountains are "obviously" put there by a deity to help with Earthquakes. NOW you're backing out and saying, "Well, not always...."

You're admitting that you're picking and choosing your evidence. And you present the freaking Quran as a source. So don't want to talk to people like me? Don't post bullshit.

  • Scientists may never "prove" evolution! But we can look to their conduct as to their credibility when they claim to have done so! The EVO Scientists secretly organized to have Scientists (their colleagues) who dissent (after reviewing the dubious science used to prove Evolution) fired, defunded & tenure denied! Just like the Global Warming Scam, where Scientists cooked the data to support their ideology. These EVO SciFi Frauds have concocted BS for decades!

  • @wakeup2it You're fucking brainwashed.

  • @wakeup2it Please offer proof that scientists have falsified evidence. there is no truth without proof, and as a scientist I know that there are scientists who argue against evolution because I was supplied with their arguments by other scientists. Scientists love it when someone says that they are wrong because it gives them a reason to do more research.

  • It's quite easy "LIVING" as an Atheist with the gate open to whatever one desires! It is quit another thing to DIE" an Atheist. For even-though they profess a belief in nothing, they (do) know of Lucifer & as they lay dying fear the possibility of facing him. On the battlefield Atheists call out for their Mothers & God! In the Hospital, as they draw their last breath they seek salvation. If Atheist are correct there's just...."nothing". But if Atheism is wrong, they know Beelzebub awaits them!

  • @wakeup2it "But if Atheism is wrong, they know Beelzebub awaits them!"

    You're both delusional AND wrong.

If atheism is, in fact, incorrect, that DOES NOT make your religion right! What about the hundreds of OTHER religions out there? You know, the ones you DON'T believe (for the EXACT SAME REASONS that we don't believe in YOURS)?

    "Scientists may never "prove" evolution!"

We HAVE proven evolution, dipshit. It's the theory of evolution that's under revision (the ToE explains HOW it happens).

  • EzTuzt - If Evolutionist Scientists adjust their beliefs on what's observed, then they have got a serious observation FAIL. For decades, their colleague's, only seeking the truth, ultimately discovered the fallacies in the latest Evolution theory! One after another, after another. But they just keep observin, and observin! Your Eloquent Observers response to decades of failure? Organize to defund, discredit, and destroy any Colleague who dissents from our view. For this, their OBSERVIN can't

  • Time Magazine 1994. "Yet despite more than a century of digging, the fossil record remains maddeningly sparse. With so few clues, even a single bone that doesn't fit into the picture can upset everything. Virtually every major discovery has put deep cracks in the conventional wisdom and forced scientists to concoct new theories, amid furious debate.".

Since then, it's just more of the same. The more cracks, the crazier the concoctions! Lol

  • KEEETARD."The numbers of scientists who question Darwinism is growing fast,"said Stephen Meyer, Cambridge-educated philosopher of science & Director, of CR.S.C."This is happening in the face of fierce attempts to intimidate & suppress legitimate dissent. Young scientists are threatened with deprivation of tenure. They attempt to stigmatize all critics. Others have seen a consistent pattern of answering scientific arguments with ad hominem attacks. KEEETARDS & ATHEISTS FAIL!

  • Scientists wrong???? No!!!! Well, Yes they are!! Regularly! It doesn't really matter which side of the fence your on. Creation or Evolution. Science can prove neither. The greatest danger to finding the facts are Scientists who wish to destroy those who disagree with "THEIR" theories. That's exactly what the Evolutionists Scientists did! They secretly organized to have those who disagree with "their theories" fired and defunded! Thus, they cannot be trusted!

  • @wakeup2it As Tim Minchin eloquently puts it, Science adjusts it's beliefs based on what's observed. Faith is the denial of observation so that belief can be preserved. Evolution has been proven, it is creationist who suppress it. It's grade-school knowledge and the fact that you still regard it as false despite all the proof given only makes me despise creationism oh so much more. See you in hell bro. Oh wait, nothing happens after you die. Fucking defective cum bubble of a lesbian clusterfuck.

  • @wakeup2it You're a nutjob. All I'm going to say is that evolution has been shown to occur. It's been witnessed over and over again. What may be up for debate and revision is HOW (i.e. natural selection), which IS the theory of evolution. The theory of evolution isn't "evolution happens," it's HOW evolution happens. Just like how gravity has been shown to occur, but the theory of gravitation is HOW it happens...not THAT it happens.

  • Typical Dawkins...bounce off questions you can't answer. Fuck, this guy is a scientist / biologist and he can't answer these relevant questions - who the hell does he think he is to call ALL religions nonsensical fairytales? he himself admits that he doesn't have an in-depth understanding of a religion apart from the one he was raised in (Anglican christianity)...no inquiring rational person should follow this self-absorbed dapper.

  • @retroguy02 "he can't answer these relevant questions"

How is it a relevant question? The question presupposes that we're here for a more divine meaning, thus it's unanswerable in a scientific context. In other words, just asking the question at all shows someone made up their mind, because they assume there must be a "why."

"who the hell does he think he is to call ALL religions nonsensical fairytales?"

Who are you to say the same about all religions except yours?

  • @MagicActor1987 Did I call any religion a nonsensical fairytale? Unlike atheists (I guess), us religious folks (or most of us, should I say) believe in mutual respect for other people's beliefs. It's ironic because atheism, being the self-proclaimed "rational" choice, should be at the forefront of this.

  • @retroguy02 "Did I call any religion a nonsensical fairytale?"

If you don't believe in them, then you do believe they are nonsensical fairy tales, otherwise you would believe them, too.

"us religious folks...believe in mutual respect for other people's beliefs."

In words, perhaps, but practically never in action. The gay marriage issue, for example. Most Christians refuse homosexuals equal rights because THEIR scripture says it's bad.

  • @retroguy02 "It's ironic because atheism, being the self-proclaimed "rational" choice, should be at the forefront of this."

This shows your clear lack of reasoning capabilities. First of all, what does rationality have to do with respect? Why should I respect a lie that many around the world believe and USE to destroy society?

Do you RESPECT the KKK's belief that Africans are inferior? I sure as hell hope not. You may TOLERATE it until a burning cross appears, but RESPECT it? Hell no.

  • @MagicActor1987 You clearly are not thinking straight. If I don't believe in a religion I think it's nonsense? So you admit that you think the 6+ billion people of religious people on earth are idiots because of their religious beliefs? Well, that for one will keep me away from atheism. And thanks for proving another of my point - atheists generalize A LOT. KKK are a tiny minority of white Christains, by that logic I should also hate all atheists because they support Stalinism

  • @retroguy02 "So you...think the 6+ billion people...are idiots because of their religious beliefs?"

Idiots? No. But they do believe in nonsensical fairy tales.

    "atheists generalize A LOT."

It's called an example. You said everyone should respect everyone else's beliefs. I gave AN EXAMPLE to prove you wrong, and that's it's a matter of circumstance. And thanks for proving MY point...I never mentioned the connection between KKK and Christianity. You made the generalization yourself.

  • @MagicActor1987 This question is thoroughly relevant. If he can't come up with even a scientific explanation of what is a purpose of life on Earth to begin with, how do you expect him to counter religion's explanations for that (i.e. in most religions it's based on the concept of consequence in the afterlife).

  • @retroguy02 "what is a purpose of life"

The question is irrelevant and nonsensical because IT PRESUPPOSES THAT WE HAVE A PURPOSE. Not only that, but it's not a scientific question! But do you want the most likely answer? WE HAVE NO PURPOSE. We exist because we exist. Why must there be a Grand Plan? Because it makes you feel good? That doesn't fly.

    "religion's explanations for that"

Religions don't have an EXPLANATION, they have an ASSERTION. They CLAIM there's a purpose to life.
