Damn, I knew the guy was an asshole but for his wife to just let him walk like that is just...wow...then again stuff like this happens everyday anymore it seems. Which basically dumbs down to two things: 1) She is as you said a dumb cunt, 2) She was too afraid to testify.
Whether or not Brooke is a liar I'm not sure and as for Charlie Sheen, well he should still serve some jail time for what he's done. But hey, Celebrities are above the law as are most men who get away with shit like this.

Battered women often don't press charges. Brooke is probably scared to shit of Charlie and morbidly in love with him at the same time. You know, "Oh, he apologized and said he loved me, maybe he can change". It's NOT rational, sane thinking; it's the thinking of someone with battered women's syndrome.
And yes, people are sick for tuning in just to watch Charlie's show right after this happens. Honestly, until Charlie Sheen kills his wife or he gets killed himself, then nothing much will happen.
