It's amazing how this film was panned on by critics and many Americans, but the U.K and other countries adore it. Says something for the taste of many (not all) Americans.

@dharmaseed I'm from America and i absolutely LOVE this movie, it was my favorite as a kid. I drove my parents crazy watching this day after day on VHS

I own the VHS and watchned this movie only just yesterday.

Like alot of other popular movies with great scenery, the VHS was cut on the sides so the image could fit into a square framed old TV. It looks a whole lot better now.

I never understand why it is that every year they show this film at Christmas on tv in the U.K. and every year in the Christmas publications it gets slated.

It's a lovely film for children and for those of us that were children when the film was new,it's still great to watch as it brings back so many great childhood memories of Christmas.

I just LOVE that bed where Mr. and Mrs. Claus sleep, and how she says the mattress is so comfortable, she doesn't want to miss a moment of it :) And the fire makes everything even more cozy :)
