Great Video! You mentioned that you normally use a "PAP Sealer". I know what a EAP sealer is, but I cannot find any information about a PAP sealer. Can you tell me what this is, and whether it does better outdoors, when compared to Epoxy, which does not fair well outdoors? Thank you in advance.
@Rusten2 Im sorry, and thank you for catching that typo. EAP sealer is what I meant to type. If you know about EAP sealers, you know that they are far superior to these high build epoxys in many ways.
Ah, okay, thank you for the answer. The EAP I'm aware of is the RockTop, but from what I've read about it, EAP has it's own host of problems, have you not run into them? On a separate note, I'm curious what you recommend for an outdoor concrete countertop. I'm not a professional, just a homeowner whose built their own concrete countertop (outdoor) and am looking for a good solution to put on top. Thanks again!
Not my first choice of materials to put on it. Usually we use a high quality PAP sealer, but due to the logistics of the job it was not possible.
These epoxy sealers scratch to easily, though they are very stain proof, and alot of people dont like the high build to them. PAP sealers go on very thin.
@CONCRETE13 or you could use an acrylic UV resin. Wanna try the uv resin? Go the the auto parts store and get a winshield repair kit and use that resin. It won't turn yellow or scratch easily.
Is that polyurethane?. Don't use brushes, use hairdryers to spread it; it takes out all air bubbles and spreads it evenly and smooth; and it doesn't leave strands and marks.
Looks like way too much applied imo

Nice! that's a long counter, and not very thick. What's the secret to making a counter that long and not having it crack?

did you put a sealant on this before you put the epoxy on and how long did you wait to put the epoxy on it after you sealed it.
seymour5575 5 months ago
@seymour5575 No sealers prior to the epoxy. I would suggest not using epoxy unless you absolutely have to.

We use high quality brushes. We did over 100' total lineal of bartop with out a single strand or brush mark.
After we have it spread we go over it with a torch and it glasses right over.

a good quality foam roller works awesome for that. Especially when you find a brush hair dried in your hard work the next day
