  • Thank you so much for this tip! I bought a few bottles of copper cleaner, but it's expensive and I run out of it pretty fast since I have quite a lot of copper to clean. My fingers ache from rubbing and polishing. But this seems so much easier! Thank you a lot!

  • The reason that ketchup cleans the copper is because it is made with vinegar. Vinegar is an acid, which will clean copper. For the best results simply take a pan of vinegar, toss in some ordinary table salt, and soak the pan in the solution. It works without effort, and no ketchup to clean up.

  • @WHFun I have a copper tea pot, should I soak it in a vinegar/water solution w/salt? or just the vinegar and salt alone?

  • Thankyou!!!!

  • its actually works! You all should try it.

  • do not clean your pans like this. this is NOT quick. and I'd be ashamed to admit a ketchup-y plate was sitting in my sink for 2 hours.

acid is what cleans copper. if you want a pretty smell, dip half a lemon in salt and gently rub your pan.

  • now i dont have to buy clr lol jk

  • hmm neat.

but who really cares what the under side of your pans looks like?

  • I have found that the BEST copper cleaner to use on Revere Ware is BRASSO. I stay away from the powder cleaners such as Cameo and Copper Glo. Brasso is a liquid (containing jeweler's rouge or similar micro abrasive), and it restores an absolute mirror finish wheras the powders seem to leave a matte finish.

  • That is so great! Now if you can come up with a way to clean the rest of the house in 25 minutes I would be so grateful! Thank you for the video!

  • No Shit that is cool and a good idea....thanxs

  • I am so impressed! Great tip, thx!

  • You can also create a paste using vineger, salt, and flour. It is the same as the ketchup, but I'm sure the ketchup smells a lot better than vineger. The acid in the ketchup is what reacts with the copper. Thanks for posting.

  • Nice. Thanx!

  • thanks for the video,i found a really old coin out in my garden, and have been putting vinigar on it,it is cleaning it a little bit, gonna try the ketchup, thanks for the tip, hope it works
