  • Technique is fucking A! Keep the faith Jon

  • beautiful!!!

  • how long does it take to train for big lifts like that??

  • @xthexTxvirusx from as short as a few months to as long as a lifetime or never. you'll make more gains from training more and training heavier (as long as you can keep up with the recovery). it also depends on your natural capabilities such as strength, coordination, the feel for good technique, etc.

  • I am vendicated. The WWC in Paris: Jared Fleming represented the US after beating Jon by one KG only to finish 29th. In the olympics, the ranking will drop down to 64 if all other athletes partcipate. 64th or 29th is not a place for America. I would rather that the US does not participate as opposed to have a poor finish where countries like Gabon finsih way ahead of the US. Let's face it , strength is in Central and North Asia and the US cannot compete in these sports, let's focus on swiming.

  • @khonfosh America, if given the chance, can send athletes in whatever events they wants. Its an honor to compete in the Olympics, whether you are of medal competition or not.

We obviously do focus on things such as swimming; that's why we excel in it. Weight lifting is given little attention in the USA, but that doesn't mean, if we get spots, we shouldn't send anyone. Anything could happen, whether it be a huge PR, big fails, or just general competition.

  • @EndlersaurusRex Point well taken. However, my issue is not they cannot win a medal, my issue is the false advertisement that they are the best out there when their numbers don't stack. I can find more videos for Jon North than Illia Ilyn the gold medalist at the Olympics for Jon's weight. Patrick Mendes declared himself as the strongest man in the world in one of the clips while he snatched less than the 85 KG and bombed out in the C&J at 205 which is less than the 77 KG top lift.

  • @khonfosh As far as I've seen, John North hasn't declared anything past his ability. I understand your sentiments; you just come off as, for lack of a better phrase, jackass on your initial posts.

And in reference to Mendes, unlike the CalStrength guys, his coach does tend to promote their strength more than necessary (rather than just putting objective numbers up). I mean, his practice 207kg was a JWR, but he's been way overrated for his currently results.

North doesn't seem like that, tho.

  • @khonfosh Pat declared himself as the strongest teenager. all totals put up were before his 20th birthday, pretty impressive numbers for someone who can't legally drink

  • he's such a drama queen with the setup, kicking the bar, looking mean, me me me...

  • I received so much criticism for simply voicing out my opinion. My message, 184 C&J at body weight of 95 KG simply is not going to cut it and 2012 will be another Olympics where the US men's team found themselves modeless. May be negative motivation (which works for many people) was simply too much for Jon North and his followers. I wanted him to focus on the sport and get to to 225 to 230 range which will make him competitive at the next Olympics.

  • @khonfosh You're comments were in no way shape or form intended to bolster his efforts. You are simply a racist. Post a video of your C&J and lets see how you do.

  • @rico925 Racism charge is ridiculous. Just because I am not too impressed with American weightlifting team, and just because I happen to like to the Russian team, that does not make me a racist. No American man won a medal since 1980 excluding 1984 where Eastern Europe boycotted the events, while the Russians produced the best lifters ever. For America to have a shot in producing an athlete on the podium, then they must not get satisfied with participating only and try harder to win.

  • @khonfosh Oh wait so you'll make every excuse for an athlete when it's a Tunisian wrestling, but make no allowances for an American lifter. You're transparent. All one has to is look at your page and posts to realize you carry a thinly veiled anti Semitic and anti Western bias... Honestly I could care less what biases you harbor but I will call you for what you are.... Oh and I'm still waiting Mr. to see a vid of your double body weight C&J since you're such an expert.

  • @rico925 Tunisians are happy to participate, but Americans are expected to win, unless you don't mind the US finishing ranked 100. Just because I am anti meaningless wars, some wars are necessary, does not make me harbor bias to anybody. See my comments on a youtube clip called "Shoah" from four or five days ago and you will know I am not anti-semi. I can criticize israel if they are wrong and be sympathetic with Jewish WW2 victims, where you think it is either you are with us or against us.

  • @khonfosh Like I said I don't care what your biases are, and I hardly think a post in which you go to great length's to highlight suffering of all other groups rather than the the Jews being portrayed is proof that you aren't a closet anti-Semite. Furthermore I don't know who besides you are expecting the American team to win. The athletes being portrayed are clearly happy to participate and since it's them under the bar and not you maybe you should mind your own.

  • @khonfosh As an connection to my other comment, and in response to this post: if America only sent people who were favored to win, we'd cut our Olympic team by at least 25%. Many of our athletes are elite, but not medal contenders based on their average performances. Ask people of the general public their opinion, and the majority would consider it an honor just to compete in the Olympic games; the media and elite athletes' coaches represent a small minority who think winning is the only option.

  • no one remembers a critic.

  • Jon North is no ordinary man!

  • Forget records, medals, or weights. This video doesnt have to be about weightlifting. Why cant someone post a video of an achievement they are proud of. This is no different than a high school kid celebrating after scoring a touchdown or a someone restoring an old car. Why people have to base everything on what other people are doing i dont know. Everyday Jon walks on to the platform he is trying to lift the weight in front of him, hes not thinking about world records or what Ilya ilin did at t

  • another stupid American who is lifting a very light weight and celebrating like he broke the world record. I don't remember when an American man if ever won even a bronze medal in the olympics, oh don't count 1984 where the communist block boycutted he events.

  • @khonfosh If you are such an expert on weightlifting you would know that an American man has won a medal. Mario Martinez has a silver medal and of corse Tommy Kono has 2 golds I believe. Now that's nothing compared to China, Russia, Bulgaria etc. but I am still convinced the best lifters in the world are right here in the good ol' US of A. Unfortunately they are playing in the NFL.

  • @crazycarlos4jc I believe I said don't count 1984 where the entire communist block (eastern Europe) boycutt it the olympics. Mario's numbers were so pathetic it was some 60 kg below USSR Pisarenko, Kurlovich and Taranenko. He totaled 410, while the others totaled: 465, 472.5 and 476 in other competitons. I have not heard about Kono, but I will guarantee you no American Man won a medal since 1980 excluding 1984 tainted olympics

  • @crazycarlos4jc or throwing hot put / discus / hammer / javelin :P

  • @khonfosh An ordinary man??? Clean and Jerking 400lbs by no means makes you ordinary..

  • @khonfosh Even the world record holder had to c&j 184 to get to the 236. I believe in Jon. He'll get there.

  • @khonfosh U Mad, bro?

  • Comment removed

  • @khonfosh You don't need to hit world records to be an amazing lifter. Jon is great and an inspiration. You need to go fuck off.

  • @Schwarzalbenheimen There can't be that many peopledefending Jon and the idea of making just a small critisim revokes that many responses in defense of Jon is absurd. I am convinced now that all these responses are from one person pretending to be different by creating many accounts in youtube. My guess that person is Jon himself, and my advice is to spend more time training to get to world class achievements and don't waiste your time on youtube.

  • @khonfosh is Jon also the one person creating thousands of bank accounts to buy his own merchandise from himself on his website? Is he creating thousands of livestream accounts to watch himself and his team train everyday. Yes I am a huge supporter of Jon, He is a very close friend. In the US he's what we got so of corse we support him.

  • @crazycarlos4jc Listen, there are plenty of better athletes at his weight class that can represent the US. Fleming, he is already at 160,200 KG and he is only 20. Better Norik Vardanyan who is the son of legendary weightlifter Yurik Vardanyan, he is at 170, 210 which already makes a competitor for that weight class, where 185,225 may win you the gold.

  • @khonfosh Go to the USAW website and check the current standings. Jon is currently #1. Fleming is an amazing athlete. Yes he is 20. He has also been lifting since age 12. Jon is currently in his 4th year of competition. Right now at 94kilos Jon is the best. Even if he wasn't he is STILL a very strong man. Would you make the same comments to Fleming or Norik? They should just quit?

  • @crazycarlos4jc Ok Fleming's best was 192 not 200, I thought he would ahve got there by now and North eserve the credit for beating him that day. Spin it all you want, you joing olympic weightlifting for one reason only, to win a gold. I have not heard anybody says, I want to be better than MJ, but I don't want to be in the NBA. Jon wants to be in the 2012 and 216 olympics and he wants gold, then he has to get there. At his age, he only can add maximum 25 KG while fleming can add 40 KG

  • @khonfosh your a straight dumbass..... In the United States weightlifting is very VERY small... All our genetics is put into Entertainment sports. Pick your country and come play football against us. We will shred your face into 12 million pieces.

  • @khonfosh Your fucking pissing me off, so are you saying that since he isn't as best as the best in the world he should fucking quit? Go fucking rot in a hole you piece of shit. You have no talent even approaching the same level as his in lifting. The amount of stupidity, ignorance, foolishness, and absurdity in your post is mind boggling, its like trying to explain something to a person who is developmentally challenged who also has brain damage on top of that, how are you breathing right now?

  • @khonfosh I take it you are an OL expert, not to mention a judge? If not, your words bear no weight in this context. I'm also curious as to how you can justify sitting behind your screen, judging what another person does with his or her time.

  • @TrueRahf see my comments below or above, not sure where youtube post new comments to understand why I said what I said

  • @khonfosh This is the worst comment on Youtube. Your logic is off. We understand Jon is not the best ever in the world. He is however the best in the country. So anybody who is not the best ever should quit? do you realize this was only Jon's 4th year in the sport. There are maybe 300 people in the world out of 6 billion that can do this. That is the definition of extraordinary. What are you best in the country at?

  • @khonfosh your a dumbass. you probably cant even lift 100 pounds pussy

  • @khonfosh

That's like saying that a guy who runs a 10.15 100m is ordinary just because the WR is 9.58. It might not be close to the WR, but it's still damn good, good enough to be worth his while to keep up the sport.

Besides, if it's what he loves to do then who the fuck are you to tell him otherwise?

I seriously doubt that you're the best in the world at what you love to do, does that mean you're gonna stop? Doubt it.

WR for 94kg is 232.5kg, btw.

  • @khonfosh say that to his face lol

  • @khonfosh obvious troll is obvious

  • Jon North is such a cool guy. His passion is contagious and his energy is out of control.

  • @captainjosue Then go marry him

  • amazing lift bro

  • Hella SWAG

  • Oh yeah, I'm liking this...

  • Respect

  • Great lift man!

  • sick mate, very nice!
