I faceplanted doing this jump... i was too chuffed that i nailed it to use the sailcloth. The perpendicular tip helped so much. As soon as i took that on board i nailed it.

@hellyouknowmynameis Hey Glad I helped. I don't know if this alternative method was  intentional from the creators but I figured why else would Beedle's air shop go right next to the nest and at that precise height? Its 10x easier right? Why do more people not know about this?? lol.

Use Beedle, its way easier that way. Wait for him to come round. Then as he is just making the turn such that the balcony to his shop is perpendicular to the nest, shoot the bell and stop him. Then use the gust bellows to blow away the dust and use your Beetle to pick it up, Simples. I spent like 2 hours diving and kept missing, with this method, one try and BAM, I got it!

@ngubod16 o thank god, I just read this response and you're right, that is waaaaaay easier. I suck at aiming while diving, so I spent like 30 minutes just diving into the water and climbing back up :( This saved my sanity :)

@ngubod16 I kept trying to do the skydiving for a half hour. After watching this video, I almost had it, but still wasn't good enough. I then took this advice by using the beetle, dust blower, & the shop in the sky. Worked better for me. Thanks :)

I just got it. Center your wiimote when it pointed almost at ceiling then point it when you jump at about 30 degrees downwards from horizontal plane. May need to twick a bit. You need to point almost to a complete dive. Hope that helps people.

I used Beedle's store for this. Get close, use the Gust Bellows, then Beetle it. AND there was an easier way -_-

Do you have to have the windmills pointed a certain way? Or do you have to pay attention to the way the wind blows?

@hetrogamr84 No to both questions. This isn't one of the two windmills that you can move. You can do this at anytime after you have the clawshots, but you may need to talk to the potion shop owner first to start the "mission"
