  • I ran at Nike and ran 7.60 in the 60h and they have a conversion time of 6.97 for my 55 en-route time... Its on dyestat somewhere lol...

  • Wow, thats sick congrats...as far as workouts though what do you usually do? and during your race what do you focus on?

  • I just focus on my weaknesses and I hurdle HURDLE HURDLE HURDLE my butt off... weather I am running a workout with 300s 800s or 200s I put hurdles infront of everything so hurdling is just natural 4 me. Thats abt it and a few other methods I have are 2 elaborate 2 even begin 2 tell the entire workout in detail on youtube.... During a race I focus on my weaknesses such as my lazy trail leg and running inbetween the hurdles... and there is a point in the race where I forget it all and just run...

  • yea i do track also and was wondeirng if u had any tips on hurdling correctly because i need to know the correct technique of jumping over a hurdle

  • 1st off yur terminology is wrong hurdling isnt a jump

  • that's true, hurlding and jumping are two totally different things. maybe that's where your problem starts

  • post some vids up and I and as well as others can analyze it... Make sure u have clear front veiw and both side veiws of your hurdling so I can help you out...

  • that's what I tried today when we were running 250s. I'll try it again next practice too.

    1 more question: Do you worry about counting your steps while doing this or just your form over the hurdle?

  • I dont worry about my steps I just hurdle Its a skill to be able to gague your stride to get the right foot, but its alot better if you lengthen your stride rather thanstutter or chop your steps... lengthening will get you where you need to be if you practice it enough... doing that helps you so u can react to any situation when hurdling... or u can just do like i do and learn to hurdle on the other leg lol which i dont usually do

  • my summer coach wants me to do that whole hurdling with the other leg thing, but I think it will just throw me out of focus and mess me up

  • dont do that. 3 stepping owns 4 stepping any day.

    if you cant 3 step, start by taking two hurdles and put one at the first hurdle for the 110 or 55, then put the second one at the second hurdle spot, but slightly closer and one click down. then 3 step that and keep moving it back further and further every time until youre able to 3 step the normal height.

  • no, my coach wants me to learn to use my other leg in the 400 hurdles. i've got 3 stepping down pact, that's not an issue. I just have to work on snapping my leg down and my turnover between the hurdles in the 110s

  • 110s are my favorite race when the weather is nice. if its raining, i would much rather run the 400s.

    whats your fastest 110 time?

  • i'm not really good at them, my fastest time is like a 15.2, hopefully I'll get to 14 low before i graduate...hopefully

    but my 400 hurdle time is like a 55-56

  • I ran 55.4 in the 400h my soph yr but I havnt ru em since so I shud be much faster by now...

  • well, i'm in the 10th grade now so i should be able to get there by the summer(we run the 300H here in maryland)

  • It depends on how your work ethic and technique, how much curiosity abt hurdles u have I cant really tell you where you'll b in 2 yrs.... We run 300 hurdles to... I just run 400s during the summer

  • that's what im saying, i only run the 400h in the summer and at a few invites during the school season

    but yeah, im very persistent with my hurdles. they are my main priority and I was able to PR on sat. too

  • I'm still training and just trying to focus on the prize. I'm doing lots of weightlifting and running. So hopefully I'll accomplish my goals.
