ALL YOU LOVERS OF THE MCLAREN F1 WHY CAN'T YOU JUST GET OVER THE FACT THAT IT IS NOT THE FASTEST CAR ANYMORE? My favorite car is this one but even I know and have the balls to say that this is technically not the fastest car in the world. It is an EDITION of a model of a car. Not the entire model itself in general is the fastest. That title belongs to the Shelby Ultimate Aero. The world's fastest car is a record NEVER held for more than a year, a decade if not that. @KGPDK I disregard the 431 km/h official figure, because if in the test it reached 434.211, that's what I consider the top (who knows how much would have it reached if a third run was ever made). BUT, the actual sold cars have the max limited to only 415, pffff
Problem with top speed is that you have the wind to consider...hence the run both ways :P
Limited to 415...that sucks...altho there are only so many places you can actually achieve this speed with the Veyron....its like a handfuld or so on the planet....1 of them being VW's "topsecret" track in germany :)

@147NITRO yeah but the Veyron SS is a luxury car as well, the Mclaren F1 is over 300 kg (660 lbs) lighter than the Veyron SS. If the Veyron SS was stripped down like the McLaren F1 was, removing the CD player, luxury interior etc, the Veyron SS would probably exceed 275 MPH.
well I want a Koenigsegg Agera R do the same test as the bugatti SS .. to see which car is faster .. and that says it can achieve koenigsegg 440km/h..bueno but I think that's impossible that bugatti would have to pay your Koenigsegg test track .. (hopefully that will pay)

Actually the SSC Tautara is faster than the Veyron. It has a top speed of about 275mph. Supposed to start production in 2012 and top speed still to be recorded by Guiness.
