The police prior to this incident had asked the counter protesters to stay on their side of the street. This man and another female with an "FBI" cap carrying a camera kept provoking people by sticking their camera in our faces. I know this because I was there.

Something like this happened on a jobsite I was on. There was a few words exchanged, and when the old man (my old man) turned his back, someone punched him from behind. I jumped up and challenged the guy and the other 5 of his buddies to fight. No deal. I even put down my tools. I offered them tools to use as weapons. No deal. I wasn't 60 years old, and I didn't turn my back on them.

In N. Y., places of employment have to check that immigrants have a green card or a work visa. I was born & raised here but of Spanish extraction but was included in a group of immigrants & required to show proof of citizenship (not so for those whose surnames were not Spanish). In fact, none of the people who were actually immigrants were even Hispanic. It felt so strange to be singled out. There seems to be no middle ground between total anarchy and over-zealousness.
