  • Hello Good Night Ur Family health well where r u now from Deaf

  • You ready for the big fight this month lady? It'll be you against me.

  • Hello Ella, I finally really understand the whole thing after watching your vlog. and I'm curious IF its passed in california...will it carry all over the states or? Eventhough I'm not a californian but yet I'd want to help this out.. Let me know--many thanks.

  • @cfarrell4 Glad this pretty old vlog still is of some help. There have been a bit of changes since then, but basically the bill is still alive and believe next stop is Senate Health committee. We got a professional lobbyist now and I believe soon the OpposeAB2072 website will be putting up videos and updated messages..prolly this week. Will it spread to other states? Possibly. I think some states ALREADY have that law done without us realizing or even supporting it. Check your state laws.

  • Great Vlog, Good work ASLElla...

  • Excellent vlog! I once went to John Tracy Clinic and I know nothing and nothing got into my brain at all! Until I went to CSDR and I started to pick up the education by ASL so I strongly support tha cause to oppose the bill!

  • Hi Ella,

What is happening results?? fail or pass. Please let me know ?

  • @deafBettyBoop Very good question. I appreciate your asking! I will quickly put up an update vlog asap. Look for it.

  • @ASLElla Hello Good Night Ur Family health well where r u now from Deaf

  • You made me laugh a bit, because you have a very cool, powerful, clarity, and nice personality. Oh boy, audists are too persistent. They are like minions. Seems like it'll never end, but I know it'll end anytime in the future, just because they're wrong. Pray that they'll give us a break. We should ask them to pay us for doing our job fighting to keep our natural language. Lol.

  • can you send me link to me related to AB 2072 I want to see it for myself.

    thanks

  • @peacegrumpyboy10 sorry for the delay. was out of town to the Deaf Studies TODAY! Conference at the Utah Valley University in Orem. Excellent conference! go check the source website for AB 2072 that was recently set up. Shucks, youTube wont let me include a link in the comment box! I ll post a new vlog asap with updated information.

  • Hey Ella, Whoa! Thank for sharing about AB 2072. Let people wake up the California Coalition make a new bill to amends the newborn hearing screening program. Please everyone browse the website of each states and provinces coalitions make the new planning in the future.

    Your vlog is excellent!

  • Sigh!

How could they write a bill like that when they do not include the Deaf community that is heavily affected by the bill? Similar to "Taxation without representation", we should say, "Options without representation", or something like that. I like your quote, "Being deaf is educational, not health issues," and this is something everyone needs to remember.

I certainly hope that your video leads to mobilize the community to respond and publicly reject the bill.

  • This is when I get sickened by the powerful interest groups making money at the expense of an entire people. Ugh.

  • So great to see your vlogs once again! I don't know if you knew that I made a brief vlog addressing to you a couple of days ago - I basically whined that you hadn't vlog anything for more than 3 weeks. Then boom! You're here! Yay!

    R-

  • @ridor9th a little bird told me that you griped no vlogs from me in 3 weeks... and it was JUST BEFORE I posted two of them! haha. I must have felt your ESP? Anyway, I wanted to make several vlogs the past few weeks BUT was incredibly busy and couldn't feel right to create vlogs. Yesterday was a good day...and it's a holiday?? oh geez. I hope I am able to put up a vlog at least once every 2 weeks. Kick me in the A** once in a while, ok?

  • Ditto Kathyrn, I will post it on FB NOW!

  • As for you generous and supportive out of state folks, thank you so much for your offers. Right now, I am not sure what you can do EXCEPT urging your Californian friends to write and sharing the information with them!!! You can help draft letters that your Californian friends can use to mail via their email addresses?

Someone else is trying to build a quick blogsite to centralize all "public" letters opposing this bill and all other information pertaining to this bill. Look out for it.

  • A few people have asked me for links to read the bill itself. I tried posting the links here, but apparently the new youTube features is blocking any links to be posted in comments!!! grrr!!! so I guess if you want them, you need to send me a private message. So sorry.

  • Ella, I dont live in California and is there any way that I am able to contact the Health Committee and legislators from outside of California?

  • Hello Ella, Just did a VLOG about your AB 2072 bill, which is the most dreaded bill coming up. It is unfortunate issue, and a big misconception among the hearing, and a form of oppression in its terrible way onto any deaf person born into this world. I tried everything to reply to your vlog, but it wont let me make a video comment! So I had to go ahead and make a vlog under my own account in reference to you and Califorina..

  • Thanks for getting the news out about this issue

wow - OPTIONless has been relentless

how can providing input from oral / aural specialists ONLY be considered OPTIONS?

What should out of state folks do - we are in this together. pls advise

    peace

    patti

  • Hello Ella, Thank you so much for going into detail about this important Bill. I hope you don't mind--I created a webpage about it on my website using your video and words from your description. I hope my viewers submit many letters as well :) God bless!

  • @startasl thanks! please give me the link to your website so we can share that with others. If can't post here as Im having problems posting any links or email addresses in comment sections...please give to me in a private message.

  • I will definitely do my part! Ill also help by mass emailing the link to ur video.

  • @aslnikki thanks! and yes please please be sure people write...share key talking points with them...and write to health committee members...all of them if possible AND write to your local legislators. I've started to see results...small but becoming effective in my opinion, so thanks again.

  • Tried to post a video response but had problems.. Took me hours so I gave up and made my VLOG, but it is in response to ASLElla's Vlog! Look at my Vlog under Bunjer.. Thanks Ella for your Vlog.. That AB 2072 bill beed to be killed!

  • @Bunjer i commented under your video. I checked the settings here to allow video responses and it says it does allow video responses so Im puzzled why you had problems doing it. Looks like the new youTube features have bugs, bad ones!! grrr....

  • oh dang! I wish I can live in state of California to help opposing AB 2072 Bill ! From my own heart to thank you for your beautiful politic education vlog!

  • Curious ? Will similar bill come up again if AB 2072 failed ?

  • @nohearfilms No idea from where we are right now. Important is tackling it right now as it is...which is it's being discussed and reviewed by CA Health Committee before going to the whole Assembly, then to Senate... True, we will need to keep being on look out... and to being as prepared as possible. Fortunately, this Oppose AB 2072 has over 65 members from organizations all over CA.

That's the whole government process ya know.

  • @ASLElla, bless you and Deaf Californians who take care of this. Also you might want to add this as part of citizenship course in CSDF.

  • Senator endorsed AB 2072 bill to allow audiologists provide free written information on options? I have seen Audiologists all my life and I have never met one...I mean one who knows about Deaf culture and ASL. Senator thinks they are most qualified to decide what are best options for Deaf babies? I am having stomach ache now.

  • @MeDeafYes testing to see if it goes thru. My previous response had an error message.

  • @MeDeafYes seems to have problems getting thru again. sigh.

  • @MeDeafYes weird. those simple message went thru. ones with real meat failed! I wanted to say that you should check out this bill via web especially with your paralegal training. I will be curious to see your perspective.

  • @MeDeafYes want to clarify one thing -- it's an Assembly member who introduced the bill not a Senator. Big difference. And whatever gets introduced in Assembly goes to Senate for vote when passed in Assembly. Same true for the other way around. Both parts must approve any bill before it goes to Governor.

  • that's the spirit, Kathryn! Nevertheless, please everybody outside of California, be on the lookout for lobbyists for OptionSchools, AGBell and audiologists. I believe they've done a lot of stuff in other states and will do more.

  • Hi Ella -

Oh no, If I am Californian, I would do it in a heartbeat! Darn!!!

I will post this via FB....

    Thanks for headin' up.

    Kathryn
