i also struggle with the 3d curves i will have to check out that tutorial video. checked out one of yours tutorials fair play mate, doing an engineering degree they have been so useful.
@dicksham Thanks a lot. I followed the tutorial and got the aircraft made. I have one other small question. I selected all the surfaces and added a great paint material on it, and now I can not remove that material no matter how much i try. any help is greatly appreciated.
@dicksham I finished the audi model today. I followed ur tutorial. it was very helpful. I had a question regarding the 3mm gaps you create in the surfaces using the parting surfaces. What's the purpose of making those gaps?
hi i'm a fresher....could you please tell me the way you made this rough sketch.....with distances....and if you have such sketches please send me on bhatnagar.rocks@gmail.com
I have one stupid question to ask you. (I'm just curious.)
Is this work done on the very early stage designing process? How does that output associate with all the other processes? Every part and areas (doors, interiors, wheels, motors, etc.) should be created with this outlook. - I have never been a designer or anything, so I'm just curious. It looks like this process is the earliest process to happen.
Hello, first of all thank you for your video. I have question. As i see in pdf tutorial you use jpeg image for reference, but in this video dxf or something. How do you put this dxf files into space in Catia? It's more convinient to use vector formats for reference.
I have the most stupid question in the world. Ive never really used wireframe that much in my part designs. So what im wondering... When you set your view to "right view" or any other one. How do you keep the Audi R8 blueprint allinged with your 3d curves? I seem to have a problem with my views. Basically, it wont keep itself alligned, and as u pan through the surface it doesnt remain alligned. Im sure theres a button that fixes that... i just dont know how /-.-
@dicksham my problem was related to my view ^^ it was on "Perspective" and not on "Parallel" ^^ hehehe see? i knew it had a silly solution ^^ thanks a lot for the tutorial though!! =D
@agu000 When modeling, we choose "Parallel" view, so that we can compare our 3d curves/surfaces with the background reference pictures correctly. After modeling, we choose "Perspective" view so that the model looks more "3D" on the screen. The Two options can be selected under "view" on the top menu, as i remember.
Time difference. Previously, i used an isoparametric curve to cut the surface. But later i found it is unstable on non- 4-sided surfaces. I now use an offset curve and project it on the surface to cut the surface. Fewer update errors after modification. The pdf will be revised and updated all time, after i or you or other people find any other better ways.
do you have any links on the real basic to start the catia surface...i mean, the really BASIC steps, from the beginning of choosing "file" until i can build a model...
wooouu you are great dicksham you really know about catia, hey could you send me the pdf file of the audi r8 please please. thanks for put this files, this way we can learn more about catia, I love this program.
Thank you for very good tutorial! However, can you explain how to set starting wireframe? Did you use Combine operation or what? I'm very interested to have that pdf tutorial, so when you're finish, please let me know.
We have many 3d curves here, i suggest to use "3d spline" , which is easy to make and modify. the pdf has not yet bebn finished. i will post the link here once it is complete. This should be my last gift to my supporters this year.

if you find another simpler way to create the same result, please share with me. I am not perfect. I am always humble to learn. Continuous learning every day. thanks
Thank you Dickson for sharing your tutorials.
