Les Paul style guitar:

Good- Great tone, stays in tune, resistant to damage

Bad- Might be too heavy on your back, expensive to repair

Strat style:

Good- Versatile, light, made to be comfortable(ergonomic), easy to fix and modify

Bad- not as resistant, depending on the pickups it can have a shity tone, traditional tremolo bridges might get the guitar out of tune ..

My advice...Fender Stratocaster or a Squier Stratocaster + Dimarzio pickups
