  • i wont lie though 344 is respectable but on the same note it should be making more taking into account when you build a turbo motor you usually dont use stock internals and a stock top end it just perplexes me that car should have more horse than that i built a 306 with a guy that put down 612 to the rears on a powerdyne with a 9 pound pulley.... it just doesnt make sense

  • who said the motor was built in that run? i dont see anywhere saying the motor was built. it says all stock except for turbo kit. thats why this was on a low boost setting what doesnt make sense? and just FYI there is a built motor in the car now and it made 540hp and 628tq....but this video is the STOCK motor for the last time

    i think u need a real mechanic to tune your car it will easily get to the 400+ area no problem

  • hmm obviously u do not know anything about 96-98GT's they have NPI heads, the car was tuned to be safe at only 9psi. find me a 96-98 GT car with the stock heads making over 400HP please!

    come on man its twin turbo making only 100hp over stock come on...i wasnt hating on your car all i said is to get it tuned right...a friend of mine is making 600+ on a daily driver...look at RET dyno on youtube

  • haha dude look on the forums, the stock bottom end is only going to handle 400hp safely, plus the car made almost double the HP as to what it comes stock so idk what your talking about there? so please find me a 96-98 GT with the STOCK heads making anything over 400HP please, until then u really dont know anything about the 96-98 GT's they are not like the 99-04 so do your homework before making comments like that, thanks

    so your telling me a gt comes with 177hp stock lol...

    i know the heads on a 96-98 are shitty but i know it can make more than 344 but w.e im not gonna argue wit you on youtube hah...

    the only reason i left a coment on this vid is because i have a 94 5.0 and im making 320hp all motor and its nowhere near fully built i just never seen a twin turbo doing 344hp its kinda disapointing i know it can be tuned alot better

  • i said almost double, but yes sadly a stock 96-98GT will only put down around 185HP to the wheels stock. and im not saying it wouldnt make more power with the boost turned up, im saying it was tuned to be safe so it was on low boost. and 5.0 motor is totally different so please dont compare. also the car now with the new PI heads and cobra block is making 540HP and 628TQ on 16psi and better numbers to come, i dont think u understand it was tuned on low boost for a reason

    im a mustang fan to the fullest but the 96-98 suck without changing the heads

    i think the car would have made a little bit more power with the NPI heads but i think they would have been a restriction soon

  • yea the heads from a 99-04 are way better and more durable with the same boost he was running on the dyno he would make atleast 380hp tuned to higher boost would make a big difference with the heads changed

  • yep, well this is actually my car haha, but i did end up putting some PI heads on it and got them ported. the car at 16psi made 540hp and 628tq so it was a big jump i think

    do u mean at the track? well i ran it on low boost because my high boost setting was breaking up. but the low boost is like 400hp and 500tq or something around there and i ran a 12.3 with no traction lol

  • 12.3 on low boost that pretty good...

    i predict atleast 11.00 with high boost maybe even 10's with slicks

  • and the computer they were detuned alot of those years because of a law that was passed against ford the tires were even changed the speed rating was dropped down on them

  • so true i think its in the tuning cause that car should be making over 400 horse and yeah the 98 gt's dont do well in the stock horse range my buddy has a yellow 98 with an 80 mm mass air and a full exhaust only putting down 201 check the vid on my page for the proof

  • hey, where is Uniontown man? i live in eastern Columbus Ohio with a 1998 mustang GT, with only suspention, Superior spline axles, and cosmetic stuff. i have PI heads and intake i want to put on it....i want to find out where this place is because i have had trouble finding a dyno in Ohio. thanks in advance.

  • ive always thought it was funyn about the 2V+turbo combo, it'll make good hp (430rw+ on a stock 99-04) but outrageous torque (485rw+ on a stock 99-04)

  • why such low hp numbers? i made pretty close with just stage 2 pi heads. but your torque numbers are nuts.

    what size turbos are you running?

    i just pulled my motor to rebuild the lower end and am just deciding on a custom tt system or a kenne bell big bore.

  • Non PI.... makes a huggeeee difference.... saving up to go pi and get some transmission work done.

    51mm garrett turbo's and tuned veryy low at 8psi.... wanted to keep it below 400hp to be safe until I get forged internals and trans work done.

    I would go TT.... great numbers and great to drive.

  • ahh, makes sence now. it sounds beastly, even at such low psi. thats around the same size i was looking at. looks like your going the same route:) with some gears that thing should haul ass!
