Brian Dewan has the distinction of being the very first opening act I ever saw, at my very first concert, They Might Be Giants, Peoria, Spring 1994. He also has the distinction of being the worst opening act I have ever seen. On the plus side, I now understand with 16 years of hindsight that he is not actually supposed to be a good musician, just a funny lyricist, so I forgive him.
