Even then, if the world does end up fully homosexual, I'm sure we'd adapt. Coitus between opposite sexes would probably be formalized as a reproduction mechanism. And being heterosexual would be the deviation. Being homosexual doesn't make one deny that only heterosexual sex will produce a child.

Honestly, it's not just intended for the "teenage" crowd if you think about it. All people throughout their entire lives have to put up with some sort of discrimination. So Broken Social Scene chose teenagers and homophobia to convey a more subtle message that basically says, you'll be putting up with people who despise you for no good reason at all in this world. Our actions cause others pain and humiliation. Sometimes, to the point of suicide. It's a shitty world and that's the lesson.
