Gov't controlled health care is not being proposed! What is being proposed is a public option that will compete with private companies. It costs more to have 47 million uninsured, as part of our premiums go towards emergency room care which costs more than simply going to a doctor. It also emphasizes preventive care, which saves money in the long run. It costs more to allow the system to stay the way it is....premiums are rising 3x faster than wages, 2x inflation, something must be done.

Under the new system they say once it shifts, that getting just a check up will take on average 6 months, and i personally would be dead if that were the case. Every year i get a sinus infection, without immediate attention that has turned into pneumonia very fast, and one time i had that and strep throat, i would have died within a month if that had continued, maybe less.

I just read a news report today that the Health Net insurance company was ordered by an arbitration judge to pay a woman $9 million for canceling her policy while she was undergoing breast cancer treatment.
