  • That is an amazing memory that you have with your dad; walking through the woods, hunting, and singing cowboy songs. That makes me feel happy inside :)

  • Great new intro!

Your Dad would be in every Karaoke bar nowadays? That's a lovely picture :-)!

"You've got only one shot" when rabbit hunting - yeah, deaf rabbits would have been convenient; but probably a deaf species of fairly delicious rodents would have been extinct way before your dad and you went on your hunting trips :-)!

Great way your father treated you as a child. He held up the basic necessities and principles, but beyond that let you flourish, and he did a great job, obviously!

  • Great stories!

One of my favorite songs too!

  • I have always wanted an Anderson. Of course for me it was just novelty, for those in wartime UK it was a necessity.

  • it must've been hard in the city you know they wouldnt have had the space to grow there own food

  • The only kind of animal that I eat is fish, even though I'm trying to stop eating them regularly and changing them for soya! Hehehe. So this was the only chapter that I disliked. but I still love you, gradpa! Hehe.

  • I'm glad I've never had to kill anything. I would'nt be able to. I love animals far to much. I'd probably have grown more vegetables, being a vegetarian. War time was difficult.

  • RE the rabbits. I know that England was really hard up during the war- especially before the US joined in- they really needed that rabbit meat. I am 78 yrs. raised in the US- my grandfather and a great uncle raised rabbits to eat and sold the pelts (this was during the depression- when the money was needed) so I can sympathize- all these animals had better lives than the ones currently raised on factory farms in the U.S.-really cruel places.

  • i love your stories and enjoyed listening to them. But somehow i don't really feel good about rabbit shooting. That's not too nice...

  • I love that you included Queen on this video. Rock on, geriatric1927!!

  • Peter I have been watching you for a while now. I like listening to your stories, and it makes me think back to when I was a little girl, and standing time with my grandfather, who passed when I was 14 upon 15. Your War stories, make think of how much I should have asked him for his war stories. You're awesome Peter and it's wonderful to hear your stories. =]

  • Brilliant. Next please.

  • a fellow Queen fan...

  • your vidoes are relly cool and you are like the grandfather of youtube you are so so so so so cool and i mean 100x cool.

  • Another great video - but we had to turn down the sound when it came to the bit about the ... rabbits!

From all the bunnies at Ross Rabbits

  • These kids who think food is supposed to come wrapped in cellophane will never understand. But, the rest of us sure do!

  • How can you call shooting rabbits as fun ... thats sick

  • go grandpa, go!!!!

  • Thank you so much Grandpa Peter...your voice and your storytelling abilities are so wonderful. I always am excited to hear your stories!

  • Wonderful stories and a treasure to the younger generation. Thank you for your gift to us.

    Mrdjjames

  • It's an honor.

  • I'm 22 years old and most ppl my age dislike hearing ppl tell stories like this but i've always loved it :] I love u, ur awesome :D

  • Always a pleasure to hear you. xoxo

  • Considering Part 15, I'd like to hear about how sex is for someone much older than the average youtuber. Does it get better, worse, different?? How so?

  • It's great to hear and be reminded of what life was like during WWII - especially the British experience as an island. What was given and sacrificed is too easily forgotten and taken for granted.

  • nice to see you finally have a directors account! about you email problem, start looking for a PA, i'm sure you'll get lots of youtubers offering to help! xxxxxxx

  • well, I hate guns and hunting, but I eat meat, and I can go with killing-as long as what was killed was eaten and not just for sport!

Loved the motorbike Grooowwwwwwwwl on the intro!

  • 5 stars, i love hearing your stories no matter what you talk about.

  • Why are there all these video responses that have nothing to do with peter?

  • People are using the fact that his clips get the most viewings here, to get their own videos onto his page. spamming is another name for it. Idiots.

  • Eh? this was in response to the question of why so many video responses that are nothing to do with Peters video!

what was food shopping like, housing? and did your wife work? the birth of your first child?

    Take Care

From Juliet your British Friend In Canada

  • I have asked before, But I know you are very busy Peter. Would you be against us Youtubers requesting you a directors account in mass? I am sure it would be to yours, ours, and YOUTUBE.COM's advantage to increase your account! And "Power of the People" has a way of helping an idea become reality.

Smile! Somebody Loves You! <=== LOTS of somebodies!

  • I agree! How can we lobby YouTube to give Peter a director's account? He shouldn't have to worry about time constraints and I would love to listen to longer stories from him.

  • I have asked Rennetto to check into this at his site a couple of times now and I swear there was a responce from Rennetto inviting him to a Directors account. It almost seems like they are shooting around each other any ideas? and Bob I was born in June of 66, you wouldn't be a fellow Cancer would you?

  • I can only imagine how overwhelmed you must feel and please know that we all really enjoy your videos and the time you take to make them. Your staying here and sharing with us is invalueable.

  • Thank you for being you. Very real, very interesting, no agenda! I so much enjoy your postings!

    All my love,

  • It is my pleasure, Peter, to consider you my friend. :)

  • I love that you are a Queen fan!

  • That pesky wabbit

  • Great production G.P big love to you from ineke in australia XXX

  • Brought a little sunshine to my day...thanks for sharing.

  • That's ok Peter. I saw this movie based on a true story wherein a group of football players (this was in the 70s i think) who crash landed in the Andies. More than half of them died and the rest of them had to survive with only a few bottles of wine and some chocolate bars. When the food ran out, they had no choice but to eat the flesh of their dead comrades.

  • so i guess the rabbit thingie is not a biggie.

    i really love ur stories.

  • really makes my day when i watch ur videos. accept my friend invitiation please!

  • Hey Peter - thanks for the interesting story about killing rabbits (I had heard that they were quite a source of food during WW2 in UK) and your friend who gave you good advice. Sometimes the best advice comes not from parents (blah parents - what do they know) but from friends who help push you in the right direction (and the same one your parents were!) Can't wait for more, and I hope your son has a blast when he gets there in a week or so. *hugs* ~Rose

  • Peter, you are a delight! Thank you sharing your wonderful stories!

  • Peter do I detect a Norfolk accent?

  • All love Peter

  • thanks again peter. another great story. xoxo

  • Peter said: "Grandad's back". I wish you could say that ALLLL the time. That's my favorite sentence :)

  • your one cool dude keep the good work up

  • Thanks for all the Queen tunes you use. I love this one especially - brings back memories and renewed interest in Freddie. I've ordered "Freddie and Me" from the UK because of the music you've chosen of his. Thanks for sharing with us.

  • focus focus focus focus focus focus the camera.

  • yet another great video peter!

  • The song in Geriatric1927's vid is sung by Farrokh Bulsara aka "Freddy Mercury".

Had he lived in nations of certain cultures he would have been brutally executed by the government as a teenager because he was homosexual.

He was of Persian descent and Queen is one of the only western musical groups officially lauded in Iran.

Rather funny considering that they would have killed him as a child had he lived there.

  • i just noticed seeing the end of the video that u didn't make the intro :(

  • I'm trying to help him learn how, he'll be doing his own in no time, the way he learns. Hang in there. Remember, this is Peter, the CyberGeriatric, he can do anything he sets his mind to! :)

  • Goods for you helpin g him my friend anything that keeps Peter Interested and moving. God Bless P.S. I am 40 now and can't even think of where to start and I work for a huge telecommunications company lol.

  • well its not your best video, but it does let everyone know more about you, so thats cool!

  • you're our sunshine, peter! lol-you should go check out the karaoke bar, i highly recommend it-so much fun!!! hey, then you can come back here and report your good time to us:)

i grew up in the country with many hunters around us-WOW! just the noise from those shotguns are enough to knock one out for a good week:( good to see you! peace

  • Thanks Granddad! After a day of September 11th memorials, I needed your pick-me-up! You are wonderful!

  • ur getting very good with this editing thing i love the

    "geriatric 1927, Production" intro

  • Thank you once again. Always love your videos.

  • all is nice as usual.. except the rabbit killing.. enjoying and laughing about it doesn't seem right.. but you had to, for food, ok I guess.. sorry

  • He wasn't enjoying the death of the rabbit, he was talking about his experience in the process of getting food.

    Ever been hungry?

  • If you eat meat, it has to come from somewhere, somebody has to do the killing. Imagine how much trouble it would be when your country is being regularly bombed. Hunting is just part of the cycle of life.

  • I can't resist...

I am happy the rabbit was killed because it helped keep Geriatric1927 alive and healthy.

I value him a bit more than I value a rabbit eaten during WW2.

  • Your stories are very interesting, keep up the good work! :)

  • Once again, more good stories. Keep up the good work.

  • how about you get some sleep before recording the next vid grandad. I sent you an email: it said "I thought you were an old twat" and you didn't reply so you're still an old twat to me

  • awesome introduction!!

    :D

  • You have a wonderful way of telling stories and describing everything so we can visualize it clearly. Thank you for the fantastic entertainment.

  • You know, you could have used arrows... it is rather difficult.

  • It makes me so happy that you consider all of us youtubers out here your friends. We LOVE you so much!!! Everytime I see you have a new video, it just makes my day, I love your stories.

  • that kid who said "i thought you were a nice man but i've changed my mind now..." should get punished

  • yayayayayayayayayayayyyyy

  • You give me hope.

  • Thanks for another great WWII story!

  • Don't worry about trying to answer all of your emails! Just the thought that you care enough to mention it shows what a lovely man you are. Again, enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing Peter! Fondly from Colorado

  • Very hip and the lyrics are very sweet for you to post for us. Do you like Queen?

  • You've got a good excuse if you cannot answer all those e-mails Peter, you're already pretty buzy to entertain us all with your videos & stories, and you do that pretty well!

    Thanks a lot!

  • you are wonderful!!! love your videos.. ooooh, you make me live!!

  • I've always wanted to try rabbit... They look pretty tasty.

  • OH, please get director status. it's easy to do, and once u get it u won't have to worry about the 10 minute time constraint

  • Hello Peter, I just whant to say thank you. Because I have only been here at youtube for a few days and your videos were the first (my dad showed them to me)and I beleved that everybody here was real. But know I have seen some videos and I am very sad. It hurts that people can´t be true any more. So it feels good to see your videos. So i owe you a great tank you and a hug. (I´m sorry for my english, but I think you got the point.) =0)

  • Queen - "Best friend" I think that is the name of the song

  • This is my first time seeing one of your videos; and your story was absolutely delightful. Thank you.

  • STOP. you have no obligation to be burdened with answering every email that comes ur way. what u give on ur video blog is more that enough and is a great gift. that is more than enough for all of us!

  • I agree 100%, mattboy! Peter, your presence in our lives is payment enough. You enrich us beyond measure. I fully understand your wanting to respond to the very young, and agree that you should, but the rest of us shouldn't be selfish.

  • Thank you, sir.

  • Thanks for another wonderful video, Peter :-) It's almost as if you're sitting at my dining room table, sipping a cup of tea or coffee and sharing your stories.

  • what was the song at the end called? and what artist

  • 'you're my best friend' from 'a night at the opera' by queen

  • wonderful

  • You are amazing, and got to be one of the best story tellers out there. I love watching your videos. Can't wait for the next one!

  • good to see you again sir

  • Not sure I'd have the stomach to shoot a living creature, but we have to eat and somebody's got to do it! Great blog, I love the choice in music, especially as its Freddie Mercury's birthday time.
