I was shocked and thought for a moment I was crazy. I don't follow news or casting updates untill I happen to hear something. I had to rewind. I didn't like the new Babe at first either, but she grew on me. Now I just miss the character. Oh and I really liked this Colby, too(Ambyr Childers). Not crazy about the next Colby(Brianne Moncrief) they got and she never did grow on me. The most recent Colby(Natalie Hall) is an improvement, but Ambyr Childers is still my favorite!

Yep, they switched her in mid-scene. The Babe character returns as a ghost. I think that's on June 4 and 6, 2009. I think it's the replacement actress.

I always feel bad for actors and actresses who "take over" roles on daytime tv. It can't be easy to walk into a character that someone else has put their mark on and try to make it your own. Good luck Ms. Baker.

Yeah, I too hate this new Babe. Alexa Havins as Babe was my favorite character instantly when I started getting into AMC back in 2003-ish. This new actress plays Babe far too maturaly and she looks too old to be Babe too. At least the new Greenly actualy acted almost like the old greenly, this Babe is just, ugh. And when this new Babe says 'mama' its just sounds plain annoying. I miss Alexa Havins

I've been watching ABC soaps for a good 30 years or so, and I've never seen anything like that. Started the scene with our Babe and ended it with some stranger. I tape it and had to replay the tape to make sure I wasn't seeing things. I don't care for the new Greenlee either. Talk about over acting!

The "switch" was announced before the show, but maybe not publicized. I saw a mention of it, and I thought it wouldn be entertaining. The clip is supposed to end with five seconds of Old Babe, then five seconds of New Babe, but that isn't working...yet.

It wasn't a very good figure of speech, but that's my opinion. I appreciated Alexa too. But that doesn't mean that I'm automatically going to reject Amanda Baker in the role. I think she's a good actress and I'm willing to give her a chance.

NBC's Santa Barbara did one. The old actor gets punched and falls behind a couch or table or something. When he gets back up its a new actor. They even made a comment about the punch when the new actor gets up saying that it was one heck of a punch or something like that. I have to see if its on YouTube.
