Sometimes though I find it hard to believe he is "playing fair" when performing tricks, i.e the subjects in whatever trick hes doing have been told stuff to do or act etc. but he still delivers entertainment like few... i wonder what his IQ is

Becose I have readen his book "Tricks of the mind" and he is taking in it, that he was learning photographic memory, but he thinks that it's just imagination, and he is writing in his book about other memory techickes

@DarkFornal1 He don't have photographic memory. He's using a method called subliminal photography and subconcious learning instead. Memory tricks in his book ins't so great although, they can be usefull. Photoreading itself isn't that good either.

Guys , I've tried tons of speed reading courses , The only one that really was somehow close to this was Photoreading .

ive done it. holy crap its creepy. get a friend and scan about 5 pages, let your friend quiz you on a date or question on the page. and then say what is in the back of your mind. it workd about 75 percent of the time with VERY specific results. its really fun

Id like to know what Derren really thinks he is. He likes to portray himself as satan or something. Why should he feel any guilt over "a staring competition" or using his imagination and resources to hypnotise someone to make them think they were inside a video game. The reason why I talked about him being a magician and mischievious as well is because he tends to play on several inside jokes that most dedicated magicians know. For example, the cover of his Tricks of the Mind book shows a devilish imp on his shoulder. This goes far back in history with the mischievious side of magicians.

Here is a much better example of an embedded command I use on my customers.

The first thing I say to my customers when I get to their house is: "Usually my customers *do as I say*. Shall we *begin*?" Now, what's funny is to see their reaction to that. They always, 100% of the time say "Okay!" and start working with you.

Derren has an incredible gift and the way he shares it may be a little extreme but I'm sure every person who has been involved in his tricks would come out saying they have no regrets and are glad they've done it. He's an entertainer and a pretty much genious, he's definately not satanic.

I wouldn't say he wants to come off as satanic, but I'd rather say he's using that sort of symbolism since that's what we're more familiar with. If you look at the images of his body profile on the Trick or Treat screens, there's a normal version of his body and there's a devilish version that has horns ont he top of his head. Many of us tend to have that concept of good or bad. The bad is what triggers fear/darkness in a lot of us. I say he's using this for the effect of the tricks.

To expose us to our own mental/physical/emotional capabilities. Think of the times with Hitler. Everyone was blind to this sort of mental persuasion. It's not just to entertain, and I agree that these tricks are psychopathic in a sense. Especially when it comes to the Ventriloquist act and the Madman on the streets. It really is psychopathic. But someone said something in the Madman comments which I thought was interesting.

You can see things that are possible from these people, and it's quite scary as to what people can be. But he also shows the better parts of the human mind and shows improvement and ability.
